We already know pretty much everything about the finale besides what might happen in those last few minutes which I imagine lead into the 50th, I wouldn't worry too much, just hope if it does come out that people on here will label their spoilers properly.

Though if the episode makes it to the internet I can't say I would stop myself seeing it, lol.

Just read the 50th Anniverary spoiler of
John Hurt playing the actual ninth Doctor everyone just forgot about.
Fuck.

Where did you read this?

I forget which came from that whistleblower blog, but the three I know are:
He is an Alternate 9 because time has been messed around from the final, replacing Eccelston.
He is infact the 9th Doctor that the others forgot.
He is Omega pretending to be a previous regeneration, which is part of one of the other two.
And supposedly he turns up with Rose and she isn't coming with Tennant.

The very first spoiler we got which outlined which is what is happening in the last episode said he was going to be an alternate 9 and not a forgotten regeneration.

I'm starting to lose track which rumours are coming from where at this point , lol.

Broadchurch just got renewed for a second series.

Sorry, I know this isn't the place for it but I do have to ask. How? Broadchurch was amazing and I totally want more, but where are they going to go with a second series? Another child in that town dies and rips the whole town apart? Are they going to go to another town? I just... huh?

I totally loved the show and had the vague hope there would be more, but I shut that thought down because frankly, there's no sensible way to do another season.

Oh boy, a leak...

Anyway, I like it when they're mindful of the hole in the center of the disk like that.

Ten million viewers, that's how!

An aside: the writer is on the record saying he had the idea for a second story from the word go, and pitched it with the "I have a very different story we can tell afterwards if this is successful," so this shouldn't be too forced, one should hope.

From a cursory poke at the darker corners of places I don't see any evidence it's been ripped. May be a unique case of one disc shipping early by mistake.

ApZoneRunner: if the next seven days, I ACCIDENTALLY auto-hover that shit of yours, I am going to be mad like Matt Smith on his worst days! :(

To be honest, APZone, I think it's a dick move even posting that in tags. Keep it to PMs, yeah? Just for the sake of accidental cursor shenanigans.

"Rose" leaked a full week in advance, heh, and I think half of the Eleventh Hour got out early, too. New Who tradition!

To be honest, for those wondering one way or another: The spoiler/clue given on the last three minutes from the Bluray owner is imo "less bad" in terms of the information you glean from it than some of the stuff that's got out about the episode and been thoroughly discussed in this thread already. That's my view, though... others may think differently. Even without that we basically have a full synopsis for the episode at this point, and that's worse. Best case scenario now is it actually just leaks so people who want to see it 'clean' can do so asap without risking some tweet or tumblr post or whatever wrecking it.

In other news: There's another person claiming that they're "certain" tonight's BAFTA announcement is Matt leaving. Only a few hours to go until that, anyway. The BAFTAs are airing live, as well, for you Brits - there'll be a Who tribute, so even if the 'big news' doesn't happen it'll probably be worth keeping one eye on for that.

Why are they doing such a fast turn around on release? They've not done it before, have they? I remember waiting months for DVDs of Series 1-5 at least.

People from the UK who've ordered on Amazon are even reporting an estimated arrival date of Friday, one day in advance. Why have they set the release for... what, one or two days after the air date? Pretty funny they cut material from the press DVDs and less than 3 days later the real thing is on the streets.

EDIT: Another person reporting in on twitter as having it. This isn't an isolated incident, then.

More BAFTA stuff trickling out. It all starts tonight on BBC One at 8. Not sure when the Who bit'll be, but probably before 9, pre-watershed. Supposedly there will be "A special video sketch with Matt Smith & Jenna-Louise Coleman and a video montage from the Doctor Who archives" - it's a bit weird that they've recorded a sketch specially for BAFTA and haven't publicised it through the Who channels (twitter, telling fan sites etc) at all. Or is the sketch out-of-character, with Matt announcing his departure or something? What on earth is going on? What a weird/exciting day for Who this is turning out to be!

If it does leak, just do the show a favour - if you then watch the leak, tune in anyway. Every viewer helps, and I'm sure a leak will damage figures enough to be disappointing for the production team, and they deserve better.

Didn't even know there was an announcement until you mentioned it. Does seem to mirror Tenant's announcement at the NTAs in ...2008? Wow, i feel old now.

Maybe they found Masterplan, Evil and Power in a BBC basement :)

3 hours 40 until it starts, but it's a two hour event with Who stuff in it somewhere.

It all came out today. Very weird that they were so silent on it - but again, that kind of mirrors Tennant, right? They didn't need to tee that announcement up or hype it because they knew there'd be 10-12 million people watching. Doctor Who Online tend to have a good track record - they don't say much, but when they do it tends to be right, so I believe them when they say there's an announcement tonight.

To be clear for others as this thread has moved quickly today:

There will supposedly be a Who-related announcement at the BAFTA TV Awards tonight. Matt isn't there, but Jenna is - she'll be presenting an award, as well as appearing on-stage for a special tribute BAFTA has prepared to Doctor Who - sounds like a short video documenting the history of the show for the 50th.

Matt & Jenna have also filmed a "special sketch" for the show. There'll be Daleks on the red carpet. Beyond that, it's said that there is to be some sort of announcement, though there are no more details. This comes from a Who fan site with a solid track record, but the BBC have said nothing about anything, and only even mentioned the sketch this afternoon, hours before it was due to go live.

It's probably worth keeping in mind Tennant announced he was leaving in similar circumstances, at an award show that was being broadcast live on TV to an audience that was larger than the Who audience with no prior warning whatsoever (fan speculation was at fever pitch by that point, as now with Matt, but nobody KNEW anything)... so a lot of people think this could be it. It could equally be something small like confirmation of something for the 50th or something like that.

It starts at 8, and if I had to wager the Who bit will be on before 9. For you Americans, we have a thing in the UK called the watershed, which is basically an agreed time that TV gets 'adult.' It's 9pm. The other week there was a big fuss because David Tennant raped his wife in a drama at like 9:05 and people said there might be kids still watching only 5 minutes out from the 'cut' plus he is of course an actor kids love. Anyway, the comedian hosting tonight likes a good dirty joke, so the first half of the awards will likely be relatively clean and then at 9 he'll get dirtier. The Who bit will probably happen in the clean half.

The guy with the Blu Ray who posted the pics posted a cryptic clue as to what last three minutes of the finale entails and, predictably, it was cracked within about half an hour. It is - DO NOT COMPLAIN IF YOU CLICK THIS MEGA FINALE SPOILERS: Here's the thread. It's on the second page. http://gallifreybase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=168195

For fuck's sake. I can't read it because I'm not registered. I can't read it after registering because the account isn't activated.

I think this right now is worse purely because the information is out there but the episode itself isn't. Either leak all the way or don't at all, right? All or nothing.

I'll be out on Saturday night anyway, so fuck yeah i'll be watching if it leaks.

Will GAF members be allowed to post links if such a thing occurs.. Or will it be strictly ban-worthy?

This has been hands down the worst fucking series/half series in years. I barely made it through the last episode (and I would have just stopped watching it after the first 20 minutes if it weren't for the fact that I'd invited a friend over to watch it with me), and I'm dreading how awful the finale is going to be.

I genuinely don't understand how they could have done this, they must be actively trying to make it as awful as they can, otherwise it just wouldn't be possible. Even Clara, who I had great hopes for after the Christmas special, is fucking paper thin. And absolutely no plot progression over the half series, just the same fucking buzzwords over and over, "mystery", etc.

Fuck.

Is there any way to buy Broadchurch online in Canada? I'd like to see it, but it seems it's marooned in the UK right now. Which is weird, because there have been season passes for other ITV shows on iTunes.
