I love "Let's Kill Hitler." How can anyone possibly hate an episode that gives us this:
rory_punches_hitler___gif_by_veddabredda-d46tcon.gif

Rory might be the most badass character in Who history without ever *acting* like a badass. No bravado, no posturing

Jealous of the Glory that is Johnny Depp
as much flak as RTD gets, some deservedly so, the master is a great character.

Having a rival from the doctor's own race was awesome, and I would love to see that back.

The Master is an old Who villain though. He's very different in the old interpretations of him. I liked RTD's take on him though.

We got a Air Date yet?

I was talking to a friend who works at the BBC today and he seems to think its September 15th but he did tell me that was from along time ago and things like this change. But i figure if we know what they were aiming for its going to be sometime close

Close, it goes:

Donna> Rory> Amy+Rory> Amy alone> Rose > Captain Jack> Mickey> Martha not with the Doctor> Martha with the Doctor.

I've never saw River Song as a companion. More like a fellow time lord.
Rose and Nine is on the same level as Amy, Rose and Ten is only more enjoyable than Martha. There's a reason I really liked the Family of Blood episodes out of her run the most.

How good would it be if the 50th had

David Tennant (Doc 10)
Matt Smith (Doc 11)

John Simm (Master for 10)
Benedict Cumberbatch (Master for 11)

Signs are pointing to September 1st. Press previews are starting in the next week, and the BBCA schedules have a convenient gap starting on the First.

It has to be soon. BBCA had that new Women of Doctor Who special Saturday and used it as a heavy lead in (broadcast term) for that “Nerd Culture” (name escapes me) talk show they are trying desperately to push. Next week is the Timey-Wimey of Doctor Who special I believe. They've been showing the Season 7 trailer too. I don't think they are airing these new specials if the season isn't going to start soon.

Also :lol at that Rory gif. Pond doesn't deserve the awesome sauce that is Rory.

Another chip in on the Donna love. Tate was awesome, especially in Planet of the Ood.

And my top 5 eps. of current Who (at least today - subject to change):

1: The Waters of Mars
2: Blink
3: The Doctor's Wife
4: Utopia
5: Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead

Bonus bests!

Best season opener: The Eleventh Hour
Best season finisher: The Parting of the Ways

If anybody lives in or around bristol, they're filming on Corn St next Monday (20th). A familiar haunt for myself having gone to Uni in the town.

My Picks are:
- The Doctor's Wife (My favorite ever)
-The Pandorica Opens (Not a huge fan of The Big Bang, but this episode was fun.)
-The Stolen Earth/ Journey's End(Shit was epic with Davros and all the Companions)
-Silence in The Library/ Forest of The Dead(Intro'd River Song)
-The Eleventh Hour (My favorite opener)

American here. My sister introduced me to the Doctor with the first episode of series 5. I watched a couple more before I quit. I told her I got to the weeping angels before I stopped watching so she came over last week and made me watch Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead so I would know who River Song was. I was sick this past weekend and watched all of series 5 and 6. I'm now addicted to this show and am going to go watch Eccleston and the rest of the Tennant episodes.

Also, I checked my channel lineup and found out that I can get BBC America. Will this channel carry the new series when it starts over in the UK?

Still hoping for that Dr Who/Casualty crossover. Grew up in Bristol and now live a very long way away...

Top 5 in no particular order

The Eleventh Hour
The Doctor's Wife
The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon
The Waters of Mars
The Girl Who Waited

1)The Doctor's Wife
2)Blink
3)Turn Left/The Stolen Earth/Journey's End
-If the last ten minutes or so of Journey's End were a bit different, this would be my favourite Doctor Who thing ever , including both classic who & nuwho. RTD at his absolute best(until the last 10 where it's RTD at his absolute worst)
4)The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit
-Something that for once was completely unknown to the doctor from start to finish.
5)The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon
-The only core nuwho episode with a finale that makes sense, and doesn't feel a bit cheap(doomsday came close)

...but Casualty's no longer shot in Bristol!

Yes, I know it moved, but will always think of that as home. Have a picture somewhere of a ambulance marked Holby City parked outside my dad's church in Bedminster Down - they used to use real ambulances with new graphics stuck on top.

I haven't watched it in some years, but I think Holby will always be Bristol for me, too. Heck, the first episode has Charlie driving over the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

My one annoyance with Netflix: "A Christmas Carol" isn't on streaming, or even listed. My favorite Christmas special and probably one of my top 5, not that I'll bother listing them.

Good-ass deal.

Speaking of Series 5 & 6. I really like the quality of the blu-ray/DVD sets. Probably one of the best sets out there for TV shows.

There's a preview screening of Episode 1 today. Please spoiler tag any details and give a heads up on linking to spoilery reviews.

No date yet, but it will be in September.

Confirmed no 2-parters, which we already guessed at.

Supposedly, Matt Smith confirmed he will be in the 2013/14 series, but not seen anything official yet.

i only watched season 5 of who and i was in love with it then i dropped 6 after 1 episode, not really sure why. is it as awesome as 5? i need to marathon trough it and watch 7 live.

6 has more holy shit moments but I wouldn't say its as good as 5. It's all pretty confusing and its resolution is mostly a "so...what?" type of affair, but it's still massively entertaining.

6 is a good season...

The problem is the entire driving force behind the season is a mystery that has a resolution that for most people think is a cheat-and therefore saps a lot of the point of the season. But overall it has great episodes.

People malign Let's Kill Hitler and The Wedding of River Song for being too fucking crazy-but they're incredibly enjoyable...

the only episode I didn't really care for was The Curse of the Black Spot...and the Gangers episodes needed to be condensed into 1. Other than that-no complaints from me. The Astronaut 2 parter, Doctor's Wife, A Good Man Goes to War and Girl Who Waited...All great.
