Why would someone pay money for a video game and not explore 100% of their options?

There are endless players who don't do all endings, side quests, or secretes.

More specifically, not every one was playing both Evie and Jacob, or Kassandra and Alexios.

I am missing something. This is Ass Creed. Odyssey was way too long. Valhalla was even longer. Why would you double up just to play both characters through the same game? Even playing the intro twice is adding an hour or so to a 60 hour slog that usually starts out fun and then decays into monotony.

And lets be clear most should sub to ubi+ to play this not buy it at full price.

My last AC was a black flag. Then everything went to hell. They should have stayed with desmond.

If I ever buy the game, and that's a big if, then maybe. I'm tired of the franchise and the last time I attempt to get back to it, it got boring and tiresome very quickly.

The visuals are great though and their DB trivia archive is fun to go through, if a bit overwhelming.

But, then again, I do think that Ubisoft developed this title to be a product of the culture wars era and its misguided priorities so I expect quality to be suffering (especially since seemingly the game goes through dev hell and potential re-writes/back pedaling). It's more likely I'll be skipping this.

I think he just looks out of place in an AC game, I love stealth for AC and he is everything but that it seems so far.

Yeah I think they’ve made a big mistake by making him not very good at parkour. Naoe looks like the superior character to play and she fits the Assassins Creed gameplay style the best. I think they should have made both characters equally good at stealth and parkour and differentiated them by giving them different combat styles and perhaps some different tools for stealth or something. Making one character worse at stealth and parkour looks to be pretty stupid for an Assassins Creed game. But still, if his combat is good, I might use him a bit for some missions. But they shouldn’t have nerfed him so much.

From the gameplay i seen, i would just play the mandatory parts. The Kunoichi girl seem to have all the gameplay elements that fits an Assassins Creed game.
Saw a video of Yasuke running around with a big blunt weapon decapitating random civilian NPCs without any penalty systems or wanted systems, felt like i was watching a racist massacre simulator.

I have no intentions to buy this game though, but if one day it drops in a subscription service i might have, i will play it mostly as the female protagonist.

Not playing this game, and i have bought every AC game.
They want to send a message; I will send one back by not giving them my money. It's that simple.

Make good games without woke injection (no a black man is not woke, the company is - If they wanted a historical black man protagonist there is tons of settings for it, many never explored, and I would be all for it like how it was with AC 3 liberation, an amazing character btw.

I have rise of ronin, Nioh and ninja Gaiden, ghost of Tushima for my Samuri and ninja fix.
Plus with Civ7, KCD2, Suikoden remaster, Tomb raider remaster, coming out in the next few weeks, will be more than busy. (plus still playing stalker 2, y's 10, unicorn overlord, silent hill 2 and have to start DQ3hd, tales of graces f, and 100s of games in my backlog).

In fact I wonder how so many don't have a backlog, especially if you are on pc and switch too. The amount of indies and early access AA games is immense. I could see if you only play PS5 or XBX AAA games, but even then that is a ton of time taken, how do you have any life outside of gaming at that point?

Unless it's forced obviously. But I watch videos of Naoe and she looks awesome, movement, attack visuals, I mean I personally feel she could've been the main protag and they call it a day from what I'm seeing. But I'm curious if they are simply selectable who plans on playing solely Naoe?

I think she would've just made for the perfect overall main character, just looks and plays the part but that's just me. I'll obviously try Yasuke but I don't think I'll main him or anything.

I always prefer playing as female characters when given the option, so I'd go with the female shinobi girl

I understand the team behind Shadows is the same that developed Syndicate, and in that game I really enjoyed playing as Ivie Frye (a very underrated female character imo), so I'd do the same here.

Now, I'm not sure I'll be playing Shadows at all. Maybe in a future sale?

Earlier this week, social media was blowing up about watermelons in Shadows. Apparently watermelons didn't arrive in Japan until the Edo period, but the game is set during the Sengoku period. Seems like an odd inclusion by Ubisoft.

I'm not planning to get the game, at least on release. If I was, I'd play both. The thing with Yasuke is that he's been a character that's existed for a long time, so I don't consider the character some kind of lame diversity checkbox quota. He was a side character in Nioh, and he was also featured in an anime (which was solid). I like the character and his story overall.
