Earlier this week, social media was blowing up about watermelons in Shadows. Apparently watermelons didn't arrive in Japan until the Edo period, but the game is set during the Sengoku period. Seems like an odd inclusion by Ubisoft.

You’re not worried on missing out on potentially half of game? Like character exclusive side missions, gameplay style, and being locked out of access of some collectibles?

That's why I'm sayin if none of that matters which we don't know yet, but if it's more of select your protagonist then I don't really want to play yasuke at all.

As with most Ubi games I will give it a shot in a year or two when it gets fully patched, DLCs release and it drops to $20 for Gold Edition on sale.

That is if I have time and no better games to play. This year is packed and KCD2 is out shortly. Why go in for Ubi’s mediocrity?

I don't have issues with Yasuke, but I am not sure I will buy it at launch.

The combat seems too clunky for me, I had a difficult time enjoying AC Valhalla for the same reason.

EDIT: OK, my real answer to the question is— I like to imagine there will be points in the game where it makes sense to use Naoe, and points where it makes sense to use Yasuke, and I'll choose accordingly.

If you want an easier time play as Yasuke. I think it was Skill Up's video (or maybe it was someone else) who said he's OP, can smash through stone, walls, and he said he didnt get killed once.

Unless it's forced obviously. But I watch videos of Naoe and she looks awesome, movement, attack visuals, I mean I personally feel she could've been the main protag and they call it a day from what I'm seeing. But I'm curious if they are simply selectable who plans on playing solely Naoe?

I think she would've just made for the perfect overall main character, just looks and plays the part but that's just me. I'll obviously try Yasuke but I don't think I'll main him or anything.

Late to this thread, but in case no one has said it already, you are forced to play at least 10% of the game as each character. You can choose the remainder to play as the other.

Now the fact that they prevent him from climbing and using the grapple is retarded and i hope they patch it in soon.

Watch the previews, man. It’s a travesty. It’s not just climbing and parkour that is nerfed, but stealth as well. And he is way too OP in combat. Will get old real fast after the initial power trip. If I’m playing this game, it will be Naoe all the way, with the minimum 10% for Yasuke.

I played all the main AC games up until Mirage. I didn't get a chance to buy it and play it yet. Unfortunately I think that's going to be my last AC game.
