Does Metroid Prime 2 have the hardest bosses this generation?

Never said it was hard, just that I was stuck. I figured I would try to explore more, but the problem is I'm doing a scan mission which means I'm scanning EVERYTHING, so where it's saved at it takes a good 10 minutes before I even start the fight with this boss and it's getting annoying. I figured that in order to keep him green while your hitting the bomb switches you'd have to bomb him as you go, but it's kinda hard to keep it in timing in time to explore how to get to the last switch. Also I find it annoying to be zoomed in all the way so I zoom out so I can see where he's at, that's probably why I couldn't see the way to the last switch.

The not hard comment was in reference to the original topic; nothing to do with the second half of my post to you. so I take it you beat it?

Boost Guardian. Killed him in 1 go. Easy. The baby INGs keep giving you life.

Ok, just rented this game on Thursday and I just beat the boss for the Dark Visor. So far, this game is pathetically easy

These hard bosses better be coming up soon

I was just playing through and noticed when you lock on an enemy and charge the seeker missiles you can shoot five at one enemy instead of spreading them out to multiple enemies. Don't know why I never noticed that before, but it's a pretty sweet effect.

I don't know about hardest, but they're definitely high on the list. For me, a large part of the challenge was just figuring out how to kill most of the enemies, let alone executing them. The Torvus Bog boss definitely gave me the hardest time while the Grapple Beam was by far the easiest for me.

MDK2 and Jet Force Gemini both had hard end bosses and, in both cases, I got to the end boss and ultimately never finished the games on account of them. That said the remainder of those games weren't as difficult as the final boss; getting all Platinums on Blast Corps remains the most taxing game feat of that time period for me. Viewtiful Joe 2 had some really hard bosses, at least the first time through, but as I'm going through the game a second time on V-Rated, I'm tearing through the game thanks in large part to familiarity and the added move set I hav available (Zoom+Slow+hold down Punch in particular). Maybe they're harder on Ultra V-Rated, but then maybe Metroid 2's are too on Hard mode. We'll see.

And Ninja Gaiden is just a mess without the Hurricane Packs, so I don't really count that game as much of a challenge. Tecmo sure has some twisted fascination with implementing annoying angles and graphical effects on boss battles; even the DOA games suffer from this. But that's a tired point already.

Currently I'm having a tough time with the Torvus Bog boss. Damn stupid platforming (well it's sort of like platforming)! :-p I guess I just need to be patient since it takes a while to whittle it down. :-( Kind of reminds me of JFG end boss, though that one had a lot more stages to it than the Torvus Bog boss appears to have.

It's a crime not to consider the Boost Guardian a hard boss. It took me 5 times I think. ;__;

Every other boss so far (30% at Torvus Bog) isn't so hard though...

I don't understand how people had a hard time with the Boost Ball or Grapple Beam Guardians. They were both so easy! What exactly gave you trouble, for example?

The Grapple Beam Guardian, for instance, had a hard time grabbing you if you ducked behind one of those lightning pillars. He'd get stuck, and you could REALLY nail him while he tried to extricate himself. As a bonus, hovering near one of those pillars put you well within a beam of Luminoth light, which means you were CONSTANTLY getting healed. He hit me, occasionally, but I finished that fight with full health!

Boost Ball Guardian was a bit tricky. He did decent damage, iirc, especially if you kept your exploration (and thus, Energy Tank reserves) toned down, but I just wandered around dropping bombs everywhere. 2, sometimes 3 of them always hit either the boss or one of his constantly respawning underlings (which would drop energy).

Hell yeah, I went through an amazing number of healths in a desperate attempt to fumble past that one, I went in with shitloads and managed to beat her with a minute amount of energy and no more health potions. Ridiculous. Did anyone find an attack pattern for this boss?

Well just beat the game, it was pretty weak except for the second to last boss. Only took me a couple tries to beat it though, last form kept killing me until I decided to shoot everything I had :D

The game was pretty weak in difficulty though. Wished hard mode was selectable from the start

Boba Fett from Shadows of the Empire was really difficult at the time.

Omega Beast on Pal metroid prime hard, luckily i got a free action replay from Cube magazine.
