Bobby them not carrying it isn't the issue. It's the pharmacist REFUSING to fill it and not giving the prescrition back or to another pharmacist. Because the PHARMACIST doesn't find it morally right. In this case the customer has every right to be pissed off and seek legal action. at the very least, hand it off and have them put the little wheel of pills in the bag. Don't refuse to pass it off or give it back, that's got to be illegal in some way.

Yeah, I agree. I typed my response before I knew they took the prescription from her.

To me at least, birth control is quite possibly one of the most responsible things you can do. (Other than abstinance, but that's no fun) It certainly beats filling the abortion clinics or oprhanages due to unfit mothers that can't handle the pressure of taking care of another life.

If I had my way, There would be reversible sterilization at birth for everyone.

DW. You might be thinking of the facts that most Witnesses are discouraged from recieving or donating blood or other bodily organs. The same is also seen here ; apparently, the above text is from the 1995 reformulation from the original oath. Now, the portion of the AMA oath seen on that site (I tried to dig around the AMA website, but to no avail) doesn't mention abortion (however, it also excises 80+% of the total text); as I mentioned, this was done for political reasons given the climate of our day. But to say that it's not still there is simply not true.


Again, my point had nothing to do with the morality of abortion, nor with whether physicians should perform them, which is up to them, the same way that it's up to a woman whether or not to have one. My point was about jecclr using/alluding to one part of an oath to the exclusion of the other parts when it suited him; as has been shown above, my reasoning still holds, according to the 1995 reformulation of the oath. Remember, I did not invoke the "hippocratic oath" argument, but was rather trying to show why one's opposition to conscience clauses for the provision of abortion must hinge on something other than the oath. And that's all I was trying to show.

no, It wouldnt kill me. But it would kill my boyfriend and possibly my co-workers. The last time we couldn't (notice there that's not didn't) have sex for a week it made me so bitchy and cranky I about killed someone. The fact that some of you are focused on sex and abortions shows how simple minded you are. Many women use birth control to control their cycles that can be irregular and painful. My ex used to have to use birth control for her cycles. She would be in terrible pain for up to two weeks at a time and we had to go to the hospital several times for the pain. Making judgement calls is cool and all but, you don't have a judgement if you don't have all the facts.
