The beauty of pills is that it makes any time great though. My first time with them I had been smoking weed all day, had only 4 hours sleep the night before and as a result, was incredibly tired. I dropped at about 10P.M. and almost fell asleep waiting for it to kick in. I was just thinking, "Fuck, this sucks, these pills don't do anything, I'm ultra-tired, it's cold out side and the walk home is going to be really shitty."
By 11P.M. I was flying, no tiredness, I had never felt better and was prone to telling everyone I could find that that was the case. :lol
The only problem is the price, and the quality.

Pot isn't all it's cracked up to be. You'll just feel dizzy and different. You'll never go as crazy as you go when plain drunk. I tried some hashish (sp?) a couple of years back, a couple of times (it's the same thing as pot only stronger). I can honestly say it wasn't even fun. Being drunk is way more fun, because it sorta fucks you up way more. I don't know what future side effects I'll get from my brief THC use, but I can tell you that now when I know what it's like I'll probably never do drugs again. This is ofcourse the old "let 'em experiment and they'll tire" argument, just trying to help you reach that state ahead of time.

When you are stoned, you've smoked a tobacco-weed joint and you feel relaxed.
When you are high, you've smoked a pure weed joint and you're likely to become hyperactive.
It boggles the mind that everyone in the world knows this, from the people in drugs capital Holland to marihuana frauds in Morocco, but Americans still call every single condition a 'high'.

What's with dumb as definition of stoned vs. high. I will never understand why people mix prefectly good weed with tabaco. Your get high when you smoke pot, after you smoke a certain amount or really good weed you get stoned. It dosen't have a damn thing to do with tobaco. It's like tipsy vs pissed its just levels. I recently took a trip to Amsterdam we roll into a cafe buy some weed and the guy hands me a huge paper. I was like wow these guys are hardcore over here. We figure when in Rome so we just roll up a nice big joint sans tabaco. We blaze away and the bartender says your Canadian. We say yes how did you know. Your the only fools who smoke joints that big with out tabaco. We look around and everyone else is smoking like 90% tobaco. Bunch of light weights, I was so dissapointed. What a waste.
P.S The other thing that sucked was there wasn't a damn thing on the menu we couldn't get in Vancouver.

I love pot. Me and my friends (including my gf) are huge potheads. And we get A's in school and have bright futures ahead of us. There are some people that make potheads look bad, but trust me if used responsibly, it can be a great addition to your life and it wont hold you back from doing anything with your life. Most people who are anti-pot just have no clue about pot whatsoever.

Pot has always been an accessory to me. It's like a pair of shoes to a chick it just brings the whole package together. Pot just makes everything better but by itself it does nothing. Guys that sit in there dark basements and smoke pot I just don't understand. Pot should always be an add on to an event not the event itself.

I hate smoking pot. I've only enjoyed it once of the many times I've tried it, and there doesn't seem to be any correlation between process and enjoyment. It just doesn't sit well with me. No drugs do...I've done many other stupid things that resulted in erratic, extended heart palpitations (and I've had a heart condition) so I think I'm done experimenting. I smoke way too many cigarettes, but I'm trying to sincerely cut back now and I used to have a pretty awful drinking record when I was lonely--I'd about two years of 4 comiserating DRUNKEN nights a week...Now I drink a little red wine, get drunk as shit on vacations and an occasional weekend.

. Really, the whole debate about 'stoned' and 'high' - whatever. It certainly feels different smoking pure then with tobacco. I prefer without, but that's just because I don't like tobacco. Anyway, there's also differences between smoking pure, with a bong, or a pipe. And eating makes me feel entirely different then when smoking.The whole pothead stigma's stupid too, here anyway. Most people I know that smoke are in the middle of an academic career or past that with good jobs. Sure, there's the occasional weaksauce that smokes away all day, mostly highschool teens here anyway, but they are an exception.
Holland is cool but I've had better pot right here in BC Canada. We get the paranoid hippy guys that have been working there strain for like the last 30 years. No corporate bullshit, government interference or chemical fertilizer. Nothing but our mother earth all that bullshit but man can they grow the herb. It's pain in the ass to get cause the guys are so fucking paranoid but as they say itll take the Pepsi challenge with that Amsterdam shit any old day of the week
Yeah, well 80% of the shops in Amsterdam sell shit anyway - tourist will buy it anyway. I think I would find it more difficult to find good grass in Amsterdam then in most other cities. Then again I know some people who grow their own and usually it's quite heavy on the THC.

And about Holland: best weed in the world, bar none. You just have to know where to get it. If you're staying in a youth hostel, ask some people who've been there for some time. Most of them are really nice.
i've always thought stoned vs. high referred to the "couch-lock" feel of smoking indica strains versus the "head high" feel of smoking sativa strains...i might have the strains backwards, but you get the idea. as far as i've known it's got nothing to do with tobacco. or maybe they're just entirely different arguments.
I've been to Amsterdam and the last person I'm going to ask for pot advice is one of those shop owners. Anyone that thinks its a good idea to mix pot and tobacco dosen't know a damn thing about pot in my book. Come to the Canadian West Coast blaze a little BC Bud then talk to me about good weed. I had no idea how good we had it untill I traveled around. A lot of places that think their weed is good really have no idea. Don't get me wrong Amsterdam has good weed it's up there but it's not the best.

Best pot I ever smoked was from Cali. Made the trip myself to Humboldt and picked up the gold. The buds were so beautiful, and when I broke the shit up it would puff up all nice and fluffy; each bud definitely had more quantity than it looked, even though the buds were huge. Unfortunately, though, I usually have to settle for the usual crap we get in the midwestern US. Occasionally we'll get some triples here (white rhino, mostly, sometimes northern lights), but I do want some more of that gold!
What are you guys talking about, mixing tobacco with weed? Is that a European thing? I'm a diehard smoker and I've never heard of it. I smoke blunts all the time, but that's just the wrap... and I really can't tell if Swisher wraps are tobacco leaves or something else... cause it sure doesn't look like a leaf (it looks like brown cardboard paper, actually). Sometimes I'll get Garcia Vega green leaf blunts, which are definitely leaves, but that's not very often because A) Green leaf blunts are harsh as hell on your lungs, and B) Garcia Vegas are tough as shit to spliff. Usually never fresh; gotta use a spliffing knife to prevent tearing, while with Swishers you can just use your fingernails.

I don't like pot as much as I used to. It mellows me out too much and I'm no longer fond of the heavy drone feeling that comes along with getting high. Right now I'd rather just have a few drinks, get buzz and leave it at that.
Pot is awesome if you like to sit around and daydream. It can take your mind to awesome places and will enhance all your mental adventures. Some people say Pot makes time go by faster, but it's more like, you have all the free time in the world. So in a way it slows time down.
The best things to do while high: 1. Hang out with friends, 2. Listen to music, 3. People watch, 4. Watch TV, or movies, (infomercials become great fun), and this last one is something the anti-weed crowd will never be able to combat, 5. Have an orgasm (by whatever means )

If we want to say that stoned is just another way of saying high that is specific to weed we can, if you want to say otherwise you can. There really is no need for argument.

Speaking of weed how was everybody's 4/20? I went swimming high*! Anyway I only smoke blunts, smoking weed with tobacco is definitely a more enjoyable feeling to me, much more relaxed. But I have never heard anyone make the distinction between stoned and high before, seems a bit pointless to me.

Doesn't really bother me, though. I can smoke weed anytime I want, and smoking with friends on 4/20 is usually just like any other session.
I'm going to stay entirely away from the larger question of whether you should or should not smoke pot -- that isn't the point of this thread. I will say, however, that if you're looking for a job in the near future, it IS pretty stupid to start experimenting with it now. Since pot is fat-soluble, it can remain in the body for weeks after exposure. If it's something you really want to try, be SURE that the potential consequences are worth it.
Anecdotally, I knew some people in college who were practically MAJORING in marijuana. Based on their comments, I would say that the "may not get stoned your first time" thing is probably true. They were heavy bong smokers, but tried the brownie thing one day and complained that it was a different high -- more "body-centric" and not as enjoyable, at least in their opinion. I did ask them once about the alcohol vs. marijuana thing, and they said that they preferred to do one or the other, but not both. Different highs, different "purposes," depending on the social situation.
Finally, since you're demon and you DID mention that the pot-provider was a "she," I will share some PERSONAL experience. If you're hoping to hook up with this girl, pot will probably make your job tougher. Being stoned is a more "introverted" high, if that makes any sense -- you zone out, think about odd things, experience sensations differently, etc. Being drunk is more "extroverted" -- lowered inhibitions, more talkative and flirtatious, more energy, at least until the depressive effects kick in. There was nothing more frustrating that trying to put the moves on a hot-but-stoned girl at a party.
