Dolphin - Emulating Wii and Gamecube Games

You need the analog gamepad profile 2, then "DInput/0/MotioninJoy Virtual Game Controller" as your peripheral, classic controller as your add-on. It will map the analog sticks, I've done it myself and it works.

ahh, thanks! I'll give that a try.

Ok I got it to register the analog sticks, but now it crashes everytime I boot up the game. (Going over bluetooth currently but I can wire it if that makes a difference).

I'll keep playing around with it and see if I can void the crash...

Does anyone have a download link for a recent Dolphin build? Their main site seems to be down and I'm not sure if there are any recent builds online.

I can't find the option to select it as a "classic controller". Am I doing this all from the 'GCPAD' menu or as an emulated Wiimote?

Xenoblade looks beautiful with 16x AA on and other enhancements.

I got it working with no sound problems, and 25-30 FPS.

It only struggles for a few seconds on some cut scenes otherwise it is playable.

just a quick note about Xenoblade ...

...the constant chatter/yelling/etc/ that goes on during the battle scenes is really annoying after awhile.

So, trying to get Galaxy running well here.

It looks absolutely brilliant running in 1920x1080, sound is perfect (aside from music just stopping after awhile - :( - though that's a known issue), controls are spot on.

But the whole thing's running at a solid 45-60% the entire time. It's really slow.

I'm unsure how to refer to the guide included in one of the OPs, because most of the features there don't correctly correspond to current Dolphin builds...as far as my noob eyes can tell. :(

Any ideas?

Hmm...I can't get Xenoblade to recognize my X-Box 360 USB controller. In config interface options, it's definitely recognized, and beforehand I used the .ini file in the OP.

Any ideas?

Disable Idle Skipping
Hmm...interesting. I'll try this.

The problem seems somewhat inconsistent, though. Like last night I only had it happen maybe once or twice.

Will give this a shot and see if it resolves the problem for good.

Alright finally got Xenoblade working. What is everyone running this at? I'm averaging about 25-30 FPS. Is that good enough?
I'm pretty much locked into 29-30 FPS at all times except for a couple of cutscenes.

What part is it not being recognized in? In the Wiimote Configuration, make sure gamepad is selected under Device. Make sure Classic is selected under Extension and test/set your buttons there. There aren't any configs in the OP for this.

Alright, so disabling Idle Skipping made the problem worse AND it cut my performance by about 10-15%.

After re-enabling it, I was back up to 100% performance, and I didn't have the garbling BGM issue at all in a couple hours of play tonight.

Very strange.

Hey guys. Just bought a bunch of computer parts that I'm going to get ready to build once my case gets here and I get an OS and monitor. Just wanted to know how well I'd be able to run things with this set-up:

i5 2400 3.10 GHz Quad-core
GTX 460 OC (don't remember anything else)
4 gigs of ram

That should run everything pretty well, right? And this has probably already been asked, but would I be able to use a PS3 controller using motioninjoy on this?

Yep, and yep.

Awesome. How does Xenoblade run so far?
You can expect it to run fine for the most part, though sometimes the audio will start to crackle, and the only way to fix it is to restart the game, or possibly quick travel somewhere.

What about this whole thing with 3.2GHz or more? Or is that only with Dual Cores?

It's just a 'suggested' rule, but has no real merit. For one, your 3.1GHz 2400 is probably equivalent to something like a 4.6GHz AMD Phenom processor. Clock rate doesn't tell the whole story.

Ah, ok. Thanks. I just got into PC stuff. This is my first real gaming PC, so I'm not too clear on everything just yet.

I really want to play Xenoblade but I'm not sure if my specs are good enough. My CPU is a Core 2 Quad q8200 (4x2.33GHz). Performance is exactly the same as a Q6600 for reference. I have 4GB of memory and using Win7 x64.

With the right GPU can I play Xenoblade with full sound at 25-30fps? If so, what GPU would be sufficent? I don't want to spend a fortune, hoping to keep it under $150.

I play fullspeed with no sound cracking with 460gtx 1gb model. My processor is i7 2600k tho. Using 4xssaa, 2x internal resolution, LLE.

I keep trying to find forum posts/videos of people claiming they are playing this with a Q8200/Q6600. So far, no luck. I don't have a good feeling about this. Fingers crossed.

Your CPU is significantly more powerful than mine...

If anyone wants a recent (read: post-git transition) revision built, I can build either x86 or x64. I generally don't do anything fancy, just a normal build from stock source.

K I feel like an idiot but Im getting about 16-19 fps in the beginning of Xenoblade. Have my settings like everyone else, running a 2500k (OC'd to 4.2) + 560ti and 8gb of ram. the audio sounds garbled and the game plays really slow. any hints?

Dolphin 7714.

Settings are
Enable dual core
Enable Idle Skipping
JIT recompiler
Lock Threads to Cores

Audio
DSP HLE
DTK
Audio Throttle
XAuido 2
480000

Graphics
D3D9
1920x1080
V-Sync
Full Screen
Show Fps
Auto Adjust Window

Enhancements
3x Native
None
1x

Hacks
ignore format changes
EFB Virtual and Ram
Disable External Frame buffers
Disable per pixel depth

Tried Dolphin 7719 also, just as bad, maybe dolphin is not using my cpu? when CUID is open it still says 1.6ghz.

These would look better if they weren't stretched. You have the wrong aspect ratio.

Disable locking threads to cores. I would assume it reduces performance on systems with hyperthreading.

the 2500k is an i5 and doesn't have hyperthreading afaik.

If you disable locking to cores, the game will only run on one core.

I really dont know why its running so slow. Seems like everyone else with a 2500k and a lesser card (like a 460) are running it at like 30.

Gvaz said:

Ah, of course, my fault. I still find it confusing that a processor everyone thinks about as "high-end" is just an i5. So locking threads to cores should be fine.

Gvaz said:

This, however, is wrong. The only thing locking to cores does, is, well, locking threads to cores. That is, it prevents the OS from distributing them and sets up a fixed 1-to-1 mapping.

I noticed I had a much better result by locking threads to cores but ymmv

In fact it was such a performance boost for me I figured that's what it was doing, my bad.

I've noticed that 2.5-3x native with 4x SSAA is way too intensive for my gpu hehe. Game runs fullspeed anywhere but in the battles themselves if I have more than 2 persons in the party. ( No idea why the third person drops the fps to 25-28) Also I'm running 7719M from the official site.

wowzors said:
Wow weird, I changed Lock thread cores to off and it runs fine.
That's really strange. One thing that would explain it is if some program or background service is running on your core 0 or 1 and using up a significant amount of CPU.

I found that changing its priority from normal to high in processes and also turning off the thread lock seems to have solved all problems. Only other 2 things I had running were steam and origin (from startup). Seems odd, but Im just happy it works now, looks great too.

How can you configure the xbox 360 wireless controller so the sticks are not so sensitive. If I'm moving my character and let off the stick sometimes it will still slowly move my character. All my xbox 360 sticks have this problem on Dolphin and some PC games with sensitive inputs.
