Donald Trump is corrupt.af

Comes across as slightly patronising. The only way to get this mess sorted is to engage properly with these people and try to ease their fears/solve their problems.
Nope, just need to turn out democrats. There is no way to engage these people. They will have to figure it out for themselves. Stop worrying about flipping Trump voters and focus on turning out the members of your own party.

Half true. Personal Emails on her server were routinely deleted after they handed over all work related emails. As per the norm, personal emails were deleted. They receive subpoena to retain personal emails. The person managing her ser at Platte Networks deletes them as per their original contract to delete emails older than 60 days. He gets into trouble and pleads the fifth. He said it was a lapse of judgment. Trump's timeline is correct. They received subpoena, IT guy still deletes emails. However (politifact)

FBI's Comey himself said this confusion was not deliberate. They were able to retrieve some work related emails from the deleted ones. There is no grand conspiracy unless you believe Platte Networks was also in Hillary's pockets but by then there's no point in arguing further.

Now compare that to litany of accusations against the self-professed Sexual Predator we have for President Elect. There is no equivalency. Believing this email nonsense was equivalent to the volumes of scandals from Trump is what got us into this mess.

Thank you, I was putting together a post that wasn't nearly as good as this.

I think part of the problem with fact checking is that it requires extra work and attention. In general, people aren't into doing extra work.

Surely there are corrupt politicians in office now, to focus just on Trump gives the impression you(not you personally, the site) only care about corruption when Trump's doing it.

Ha at the persecution complex of Trump supporters. I've heard it all, it's just locker room talk everyone does it...etc
Dare to point out that Trump is legitimately bad when he is gonna be in the most powerful office and oh noes we're being so mean targeting him!

Same people that yell from the rooftops and spammed my facebook about Hilary's emails and that she's the devil incarnate.

But all politicians are corrupt, no point in talking about Trump unless you point out every single one! No point in talking about Black Lives Matter unless you take all the extra time to make it clear All Lives Matter! But in case you were really wondering mostly the Blue ones matter. Ok

Nice. They should do the same with the Clintons.

Hey have you checked the news lately? Donald Trump is going to be the next President.

Has anyone told you that Donald Trump is not from the Clinton family? Or that none of the Clintons are going to be the next President?

Please keep up with the news.

Would be awesome if we could.

Please notify me if you are just trolling, because, to be blunt, if you sincerely believe this, NeoGAF is not the right forum for you.

Please provide me even ONE credible example of someone worth $100M or more using granted official U.S. political power to manipulate/corrupt (i.e. illegally generate) more money for themselves directly.

Even one example would change my view on this. I literally know of zero cases where this has ever happened.

Tax loopholes are called loopholes for a reason. They are legal.
Gates and Buffet generate their vast amounts of wealth 100% legally.

I remember when officials put their foot in Jim Wright's behind for being a total shill and influence peddling years ago but I don't know his worth. Probably tiny like the avg person i.e. you or me but still a 1% er.

A very good point. But I still believe this qualifies as fake news because the average person isn't going to closely examine the cited articles. They will just look at the banner and see the tally and say "wow. 46 examples of corruption." ...And then share it on their Facebook account.

Are you seriously qualifying something as "fake news" based on the fact that people are too fucking lazy to read the article(s)?

This one is about Trump though. Why don't you go do the other ones?

It really says something about how low the standards of the presidency have become when the argument against focusing on the President of the United States is "but other politicians are corrupt."

To paraphrase Jon Stewart, "Yes! Why all the interest in holding the presidency to a higher standard than governors?"

Like, nobody is saying to not call out other corrupt politicians, it happens all the time. But is the argument that we're going to hear these next four years really "but what about other politicians"?

Nope. I'm suggesting the site that is citing many articles, some with little to no corruption, and tallying them as an example of corruption is the fake news site.

Edit: For example, this site lists Linda McMahon getting a job in Trump's cabinet as an example of corruption, implying she only got the job because she donated to Trump's campaign. It completely ignores that Trump and the McMahons had a relationship that goes back almost 30 years. It also ignores that Linda helped build the WWE to what it is today. She's got the experience to do the job.
Today I learned that fake news is simply a collection of real news. :P

Though I understand your point and agree that some of this is stretching the term.

That's exactly how fake news spreads.
"I had sex with my lady friend and now I likely have AIDS because sex is how AIDS spreads"

"Whataboutisms" seem to be rising in popularity.
