I know there's a lot to hate about Donald Trump, but isn't hating him for saluting a former president on what would have been his 250th birthday a reach?
Trail of Tears
that should be the only thing said about Jackson

Honoring the man responsible for the Trail of Tears. Fuck off, you orange piece of shit.
Ben Carson: It was just America's first Family Vacation.
You don't think President Obama would have had some kind of PR statement for the 250th birthday of a very consequential president?
.
In what way did slaves and American Indians "benefit from the horrifying things he did"? Or do they not count?Don't confuse terrible person with terrible president.
Andrew Jackson is a pos that has done more immoral things than pretty much everyone except for a few handfuls of people.
As a president he helped this country grow through a lot of ill gotten means and is the father of a lot of modern progressive ideals. He also one of the main players in why Florida and Texas(which lead to the rest of south west and California) is part of the U.S.
As a huge history buff, his legacy is always interesting. The citizens of the us benefited from the horrifying things he did.

Hence why I used the term citizen.
Hence why I used the term citizen.
So then we (us minorities) can continue to call him a terrible person AND President, gotcha.
that doesn't exactly make him a good president. that he was profitable.
or I guess it does, and we just need to finally accept that we are the baddies.
It also shouldn't surprise anyone that Trump is a fan of Andrew Jackson, and as much as we all hate Donald Trump (Which I do, with a burning, aggressive passion), he very likely reveres what Jackson is most well known for: being an outsider, populist who did not fit the traditional American political stereotypes, just as Trump is.
Though, of course, when I was growing up, Alexander Hamilton was the bad guy.
.
Study us history and there's no way you don't get the sense that we are the baddies.
Thankfully, historians are now factoring in the human rights legacies of past Presidents when they evaluate their job performance. Thats how, after 3 quarters of a century of Confederate sympathising smear propaganda, President Grant's legacy has been resuscitated and redeemed.that doesn't exactly make him a good president. that he was profitable.

Oh so when it comes to the bad shit now it's "we".
My people were victims in this. We were pretty content endlessly fishing, plucking berries, and praising the sun in the Caribbean.
Andrew Jackson was one of the single worst presidents who ever fucking lived.
Andrew Jackson was one of the single worst presidents who ever fucking lived..
He would have to actively commit genocide to be as bad as Jackson and as much him and that neckbeard piece of shit Bannon want to, they ain't getting it.Trumps working on that.
Same way every president before Lincoln was a terrible president.
Same way Asians can call FDR a terrible person and president. Actually no fdr was worse at least Jackson had an excuse of the times and the fact that they weren't citizens. FDR did his terrible thing to citizens and in a more civilized time.
Come on. Do we even think Trump knew who Andrew Jackson was before he became president? This is all Bannon...

Jackson's on the $20 bill, so he probably knows based on greed alone.
Jackson isn't nearly as hated as he should be unfortunately. He will be just as hated as Andrew Jackson.
I know there's a lot to hate about Donald Trump, but isn't hating him for saluting a former president on what would have been his 250th birthday a reach?

He wasn't perfect, but he did more to enforce voting rights and combat racial terrorism than any president over the next 90+ years. You mean the same guy that prevented Chinese people from becoming citizens?
