Donkey Kong Bananza |OT| Red Faction Gorilla

Did you have a chance to have any modicum of fun or did you just focus on scoring some major worthless e-peen points by finishing it like a sperg in 24 hours?
Lots of fun wasn't even rushing. Gonna start tackling postgame tomorrow. Just hope the 2nd Void Kong fight never happens again. Frustration Station.

Those who've finished already. No spoilers please but would you say the story is satisfying and sticks the landing? The Direct got my hopes up in this regard and so far I really like the two leads working together. It's quite charming.

thats the games fault really. it just pushes you to continue on the story path. You have to make an effort to stop and do as much as possible really, but that gives you a lot to do after you finish the story.

I liked it a lot. It's a very simple story. And the pacing is good. Nothing overstays it's welcome and a lot of interactions whether it's story or in gameplay has that special goofiness the old Donkey Kong games were known for and I love it.

wtf. The last boss is some Dark Souls levels difficult stuff. Had to switch to assist mode and still can't beat it.
Kinda want more bosses like this. Once you understand how your abilities work what seems overwhelming can be dealt with. I like fights like these since it's more reactive.

Last boss was definitely tense. It doesn't play around. Think I died probably 30 times before I learned mechanics.

Very good to hear…as much as I loved Odyssey their bosses was lot of nothing. Kirby the Forgotten land post game boss also give decent challenge.

Yes. I did some challenges but ended up just going for Main Quest progression. Postgame opens up new stuff, altered environments, you can unlock a couple things like Battle Challenge and Boss Rush and since you have all of your abilities barring ones you need to unlock in the skill tree you can start exploring everything Layer by Layer.

I completed the game at 245 Bananas and the total amount is grand total of 777 Bananas

And of course there are all the Music Records and Outfits to unlock.

As for the purpose of Postgame I'll let you figure that one out. I think Postgame will be harder then main game considering it only took me around 8-12 hours(maybe a bit longer?) to get to where I am now.

Very addicting game.

It's much better then Odyssey or the 2 Zelda's due to traversal and the freedom it allows you. Not having to worry about Stamina helps a bit too. And this is all stuff you the player can do on your own and not stuff like Autobuild from TotK.

Probably the closest we will get to a DK64 2. And other then jumping down Chasms being a very clever loading screen or sleeping most of the game is very seamless.
What did you think of the finale?

There have been a few moments that reminded me of Splatoon, but nothing I could really put my finger on. That's a good one.
It's the way the bosses are introduced, with a stop, backdrop and name. Also there's one boss in the refinery that's basically a Splatoon boss.

I'm still on Lagoon Layer so I don't think it has the teleport capability yet. Googling and it seems there is some gong.
You'll unlock it once you go slightly deeper

It will then appear at the lagoon for the first time

Edit: and yes, keep an eye out for a gong

Hard to miss once you're in the right spot

Guys, you guys

Guys

I'm half an hour into this game and i havent left the first area because all ive been doing is breaking all the things. I already love this game.

Really enjoying my time with this game. Within the first 2 layers however I thought it was just ok. I didn't hate all the digging but I didn't love it. Then all the particle effects were really messing with my eyes along with the screen shake. Once I hit that 3rd layer I got a better feel for the flow of the game and the controls, then I became hooked. I turned off screen shake for a bit and now that I know what I'm looking at during all the chaos I turned it back on to normal.

This isn't open world but it feels far more like an open world than the segmented sandboxes of Odyssey. I am obsessed with finding fossils and then barely even spend them lol. That desert land struck a chord with me and I can not stop searching for every little thing each stage has to offer. I'm hitting the breaks now with my upgraded abilities to complete earlier layers.

I've only fought one proper boss, but I've sensed multiple subtle Splatoon-ish moments, so it must be more than that.

Got to the desert-type layer now and it's getting a bit overwhelming with the collectibles.

Tried out photo mode abut as well:

I'm just getting to level 3 also and haven't seen photomode mentioned once. Is it tied into the story or am I just dense and missing how to activate it?? 🤔

For those who have the game, especially with 65 inch TV, how does it look and perform when dock on a 65 inch TV especially OLED or QLED?

Made it to world 200 or whatever, after the first "real" boss. This game is legitimately fun.
