Apples and oranges for sure. I'm playing 33 and it's awesome. Donkey Kong is going to be awesome. We can have both lol

No shade. New Nintendo games usually unlock on Friday a midnight so I was assuming this was the same. This one is unlocking a day earlier for reasons unknown but I'm all for it. Means I'll get to play it tomorrow after work.
Your last Nintendo game was Super Mario Bros. Wonder, right? It's been the case since last year.

Glad to see Donkey Dong hanging in the 90's. I was sold on this since I first saw it, but it's good to see reviews are really good for this. Can't wait to get into this game!

Super Mario Galaxy 2 had the best scores in that year and didn't win majority of gotys...

Totk and BG3 has the same meta score, despite Zelda being 1000 times better, still didn't win.

Higher scores not always mean auto goty

Who wants to bet the "3rd party showcase" direct in august has some MS games tossed in for good measure?

Nintendo has set themselves up for a great fiscal 2025. Excited to see what the holidays bring.

HUZZAH....costco delivery literally at my door right now. Some Bananza based fun will be had tonight.

Between this, Expedition 33, Metroid Prime 4, and Pipistrello (which ALL you motherfuckers should play), we're actually eating insanely good this year.

Edit: Also doesn't Silksong come out this year? Hades 2, too!

Honestly couldn't give less of a shit about reviews. When the game was first revealed in the Switch 2 unveiling Direct, at first I virtually ignored it, disappointed it wasn't a new 3D Mario. It might have been later that same day I heard it was being made by the Galaxy/Odyssey team (which apparently was merely rumor at the time lol,) and I went back and watched the footage again and paid closer attention. At that point it was obvious to me this game was going to be funner than shit and I've been fully onboard ever since. Tonight at 9PM PST, time to fap OH BANANA.

I don't get it. He drools over every trivial mechanic, like "WOWW there is a CRATER if you fall from the height!!1".

Nintendo's "secret sauce" is making these trivial mechanics feel good/satisfying to do. Jumping, moving around, smashing shit up.

Incidentally, it's also why I dropped Red Dead Redemption 2 after some hours, because the basics of controlling and moving your character around felt awful (to me). But man, RDR 2 is fucking pretty (still).

I have a gut feeling about this one. It's gonna end up being one of their best games ever. I just read a "low" review that had a score of 80 and I was able to infer without the reviewer even realizing the info was conveyed, that the game is underrated and a true banger. It's got fucking botw shrines ffs. WTF. Never has a DK game got me this hyped.

It reminds me about how Nintendo spend like 1-2 years literally just refining Mario's movement mechanics for Mario 64 before they designed a single level.

Nintendo games just feel good.

I think people like you really don't understand how much work goes into creating something that feels so simple and so satisfying. When to cut back, when to add, testing, improving, the sound design. There's so much that goes into every detail in Nintendo games, that it looks so simple and duh of course to you, but behind the scenes it took a lot of effort.

Like Dolly Parton says, it's very expensive to look this cheap.
