What movie is this from?

I hope he isnt in the main role. They need someone american, or british with an american accent.

But I can see why they wouldnt if theyre banking on the international box office.

Part of Wei Chen's deal is that he's a young cop who just came back to Hong Kong...

Why even call this Sleeping Dogs if you're just going to change the entire premise?

Too old, and not American.

We need a young Asian American in the role. Have Donnie Yen play a mentor or something.

It's really conflicting. Wei Shen's a video game character, so, naturally, he's a martial arts god. Which lines up well with Donnie Yen.

But you literally couldn't ask for a better role to go out and look for a Chinese American actor, or at least an Asian American one. So naturally, they give it to the foreign born superstar.

It would be cool if they could get Will Yun Lee to play Wei Shen. I would rather have an Asian American play Wei since coming back from the States is part of his character.

And in the game, Wei Shen was born in HK and moved to America when he was 10.

Things I want to see:

  1. Pork Buns.
  2. Karaoke.
  3. The Wedding.
  4. Someone doubting someone else's masculinity, with the solution being "pork buns".
  5. Jumping from car to car.
  6. Someone expressing their dislike of Dogeyes.
  7. James Hong.

Love me some Ip Man, so I am down with this.
Also, Wei Shen is chinese you doofuses. His sister got involved with drugs, family moved to the states, then he moved back when older.

Could be a story sequel to the game, an older Wei Shen wasting his life on drunk karaoke nights, his police career going nowhere, he gets into debt and becomes a corrupt cop... Or does he?

I did not know I wanted a Sleeping Dogs movie till now. Does that mean the franchise is not dead and a potential for a Sequel may be possible even if it is not with the original devs?
