Amazing key art.

That's beautiful with a nice nod to the past. Best key art I've seen in years.

It also seems like it's big open areas with monsters everywhere instead of those arena areas from previous games. A welcome change if so!

I'm not saying i want them to but imagine if Xbox had actually stuck to keeping all these games exclusive to their console... they had some duds in Redfall and Starfield and let that change their perception on what would make their gaming division successful. ... if only they had the balls to stick to their guns and get to THIS point of releases we are recently seeing. It's all their fans asked for for years but in the end Xbox threw up their hands and threw in the towel. Kinda funny.

Watching that deep dive video now and I'm flabbergasted in all the right ways.

Can't believe a franchise I've hold near and dear to my hart for all my life is still going strong, after all these years. And dare I say, getting better with each outing. Amazing stuff.

Try reading what you post. Boomer shooters are about being "OG Doom like".

The core gameplay doesn't seem to have been changed drastically from old skool Doom.
It just has a few touch ups here and there.
Like every other FPS.

But it isn't.

Their fans defended their shitty releases, were obedient yes-men and made all the excuses in the world for them.

From crackdown 3, bleeding edge, releasing a new console generation with no new exclusives, all the way through to Redfall etc.

Maybe if those people had demanded better instead of being cheerleaders then this potential turn around might have happened soon enough to save the hardware side of the business.

Wich isn't bad at all. Both old school doom and modern are great games. Have more fun with those than something like CoD

To me it feels like they wanted to inch closer to what a direct sequel to Doom 64 would have felt like, which probably solidifies that this takes place after Doom 64 but before Doom 2016 in the story's timeline. For reference, the 64 ending (which was made canon in 2016):

When you're so anti-DEI... you have to bring it up when nobody is talking about it.

Wonder if this one will also have some form of multiplayer? I actually ended up really enjoying the multiplayer of Eternal. Even 2016's phoned-in MP was actually not that bad (before it became infested with cheaters anyway).

Red state bruh. id is a diamond. They must be protected at all costs. The results speak for themselves.

None of that “we wanted to take what makes doom great and bring it to a modern audience” crap.
