DORITOS Presents: SONY vs. MICROSOFT 2014 THE HYPERBOWLLLLL

How about "Sony doom and gloom" as little as two years ago.

This is awesome, we even had an edit from a couple months ago (2 years later, lol)

Sony will never retake the #1 spot. Microsoft is too deeply embedded with XBL for that to ever happen.

Both MS and Sony will lose some more gamers to the PC, Nintendo... no idea. I don't see the Wii U doing great.

Edit: For future wall of shame posts, this post was made long before the XBone "reveal". So yeah I was wrong.

That is awesome Neko...

Those charts are hourly updated. Doesn't mean anything really.

When hourly results keep the same for days they turn into daily results. When they stay the same for longer they might turn into monthly results. Right niw it is not like they are fluctuating much with PS4 going up from time to time.

Sure the look of the top 100 may change again soon, but right now it looks like xbone creates some facts. PS4 probably still sells fine, but there is no hint of any incentive that will make them skyrocket soon.

Yeah I know but being in the top 20 for that long is something. And now it's not. Just making a comparison. It shows demand has switched. For now anyway. Price drop always see an increase in sales that's why I'm wondering how long that demand is going to hold. When MS priced the XB1 at $399 it was above PS4 for about a week. But the PS4 never dropped down this low.

Black Friday week could of course erase whatever sales advantage MS will get until then.

Given what they've put out so far, then yes, they deserve to get trounced.

None of what you're saying benefits the consumer.

Who cares if they take a bit of a loss, MS is undoubtedly taking bigger losses.

This is concern for Sony's financial well-being, which shouldn't be the consumers' concern.

With that logic, everything should be $.01, because its whats best for consumers. So what if the company making the product crashes and burns from overwhelming debt, the consumers made out in the end, and that's the important part.

I mean, you know, they wont ever get a product they like from that company ever again, but so what, someone else will sell something for a penny.

Seriously, think about the big picture. Healthy companies stay around to keep making products for us greedy, starved consumers. Do you want one thing dirt cheap once, and never see the company again, or do you support companies so they can keep making products you like? And I don't just mean MS/Sony, but business in general.

First time since launch the PS4 is not in the top 20

I wonder how long XB1's boost is going to last.

I guess you missed the post by Y2Kev earlier about that:

Guys, a year ago we quarantined all "XXX sold out on Amazon" threads because they were a) garbage and b) dumb. So stop.

Besides, those hourly updated charts that you guys keeps bringing up, I wouldn't look too much into it.

Regarding WWS's output

SCE WWS 2013-2014
Killzone Shadow Fall
Knack
Infamous Second Son
MLB the Show 14
TLoU Remastered
Driveclub

MS WWS 2013-2014
Forza 5
Halo MCC
Kinect Sports Rivals
Killer Instinct classic
Project spark
Max: Curse of brotherhood
Lococycle

MS relies far more heavily in the production of third party studios.

EDIT : thanks wapplew
fixed your list

And I assume your strictly talking about X1/ps4 out put right....

because Sony had more ps3 games back in 2013

Didn't see that post.

I'm just making an observation. I know it's incomplete. I still think Sony will win November with a bunch of holiday deals

No doubt. I'm thinking that SCEA's (Sony Computer Entertainment of America) plan is to let Microsoft have the first three weeks of November, letting them think that they're winning & letting them think that SCEA doesn't have anything to counter MS with in North America.

Then on the last week of November (or on Black Friday itself), SCEA surprises Microsoft with something like the GTA V PS4 bundle.

Those are hourly results.

What I find amazing is that every time I check that the Playstation gift cards are always on the top five, as in constantly selling, what does it mean?!

People are buying indie games/digital only games, if not buying retail games that comes out digitally.

Where is the Wii U at??

All they need is Super Smash Bros. U.

Honestly? I'm expecting a GTA V bundle for about $400, and that will ensure that the PS4 wins the November NPD on its own. The PS4 is simply more desirable.

Sorry for the bump but this happened & this was the closest Doritos thread I could find.

http://qz.com/293298/confirmed-doritos-flavored-mountain-dew-is-for-real/

Pepsi recently conducted taste tests of a Doritos-flavored Mountain Dew. A “nacho-flavored chips”-flavored soda.
The arrival of this appalling-sounding combination was first reported on Reddit by Steve Barnes, a freshman at Kent State University, who tasted the “Dewitos” drink when Pepsi offered samples on the Ohio college’s campus recently. Other flavors up for consideration, according to Barnes (he goes by joes_nipples on Reddit): lemon ginger, mango habanero, “and rainbow sherbet[,] which tasted like medicine.”
Like other media outlets, Quartz at first wasn’t sure whether this was real or a stunt (like that false alarm on pumpkin spice condoms a few weeks ago), but a Pepsi spokesperson has confirmed that these product tests are indeed in progress. A statement to Quartz via email said:
We are always testing out new flavors of Mountain Dew, and giving our fans a voice in helping decide on the next new product has always been important to us. We opened up the DEW flavor vault and gave students a chance to try this Doritos-inspired flavor as part of a small program at colleges and universities.
Several Redditors and bloggers were taken aback by the mere thought of this flavor. “It honestly wasn’t that disgusting,” Barnes told Reddit—”It tasted like orange with a doritos after taste. It tasted like straight doritos afterwards though. Weirdest thing I’ve ever drunken.”
Funny enough, for years people have been jokingly suggesting that Mountain Dew and Doritos come together this way. Given the state of soda sales, you can’t blame Pepsi for trying.
