“By keeping our finger on the pulse of trending and fan-favorite flavors, Doritos has developed a flair for putting an unexpected spin on beloved flavor profiles and elevating them to new heights. Doritos Golden Sriracha opens the door to an entirely new flavor that accomplishes a lofty task: putting a bold twist on Gen Z’s favorite hot sauce,” Tina Mahal, senior vice president of marketing at PepsiCo Foods North America, shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. “We’re excited to introduce loyal snackers, esteemed foodies, and everyone in between to the Doritos version of Sriracha — I have a feeling this new flavor will secure a permanent spot in fans’ pantries alongside their go-to bottle of Sriracha sauce.”

Grabbed a bag at Sam’s Club today. They taste good, very sweet.

If this is what gen z considers spicy we’re so doomed.

This thread is absolutely going off the rails, it seems. Doritos in sauce, sandwich confusion, what could be next?

I’m not that big on Doritos personally, or really any form of chips. I like tortilla chips and salsa, though. Never been big on potato chips.

Its why these were made. Every single human on this planet that I know dips doritos or similar products in sauces. What the fuck is wrong with you?
Are you an Aussie? I know 0 Americans or Canadians who do that. Americans also generally don’t refer to salsa as sauce. Doritos are not a dipping snack here, plain tortilla chips are used for dipping.

Personally, Doritos dipped in any kind of sauce seems like it would be a combination with too many flavors competing. Are the Doritos you are referring to flavored, or are they plain tortilla chips?

Anyways, in any deli in the USA, you generally get a sandwich with a side of chips, Doritos are one of the options.

Any works. Most prolly use plain ofc.

But yes, any tortilla chips/dorittos/chio/etc works. Even at the movie theater they serve this or with whatever flavor you want. Never in my entire life have I ever heard anyone eating a fucking sandwich with a Doritos tho unless they're trolling me. I'm not aussie or british. Im romanian.

Uhh that looks like something you'd dip a plain (salted) tortilla chip in, not a fucking Dorito!

But since you're a psychopath here's some some beef jerky for you to dip your Doritos in too:

For other dips you would opt for a plain salted potato chip.

My lord, America should have never exported chip technology, let alone the pinnacle science that is the Dorito to these strange foreign lands without detailed instructions in whatever local chicken-scribble they claim to be a functional language!

In Anglo countries we don’t generally serve chips in movie theatres. Popcorn is the movie snack.

Do people eat anything with sandwiches in Romania? There’s got to be a side of choice, when sides are an option. Do you have potato salad with it or something?

Edit; added generally

Here in the states when we visit any sandwich shop we get a bag of chips to go with it. Chips are more of a lunch thing around here, or as a snack for inbetween meals. We use plain tortilla chips for salsa or cheese dip.

The sandwich is served as is, with nothing else besides a drink if you go to a pub, shop, or at home. Doritos are pretty much used like any junkfood for watching stuff or having the munchies, like eating nuts or Pringles, never with normal food. At the cinema we have popcorn ofc, it's popcorn or the tortilla combo.

Yes, as I said, most use it to dip plain ones, but anything goes. It's a sauce, my big boned american friend, they're used for anything.

They are not meant to be spicy. Doritos know how to make spicy chips. These are meant to be sweet since not all Sriracha is hot.

Doritos are absolute trash.

Switch them out for this brand,

I don’t think they sell these at Sam’s Club. Never heard of them.

Make a turkey, lettuce, tomato (thin slice), mustard sandwich.
Throw some Cool Ranch Doritos in that bad boy and thank me later.
Try it once.
I’m with you on the turkey sandwich but you Doritos in the sandwich?

Let me tell you how good they are. By far the best nacho cheese chip I've ever had.

They have them at quite a few super markets now. We use to have to special order them from a Co-Op near us, but just about every major market near us now has them on shelves.

Let me know what you think if and when you try them?

No, thank yo,u buddy. Whats next? Chicken soup with dorritos?
Lol, never heard of that one. In the soup? Don’t feel like soggy chips.
But as a former cook, the cool ranch flavour profile, ie. the citrus and sweet notes wouldn’t be at odds with a chicken soup.
It’s Sunday and cold over here. You have peaked my interest for a nice home cooked Sunday meal.
Thank you sir.

I see we have someone that enjoys that brand as well.

I've had almost all of the flavors and I'm locked in with the nacho cheese flavor.
I’ve been a fan of them since around 2012 when I first tried them from a local co-op. Then I started seeing them at all the grocery stores shortly after. I don’t eat as much processed foods like I used to, but these are definitely higher tier of quality and ingredients in that department.

I started seeing Late July brand in the early 2000's when I would go to Whole Foods. They've definitely been a go to for corn chips. I don't know when they started the Nacho Cheese, and other flavor chips in that line, but I only found the Nacho Cheese flavor late 2020.

Before that I just stayed away from your typical brand of processed snack foods due to the poor quality that didn't even taste good, and made with poor quality ingredients.

Another one that’s good, different texture to the crunch is Beanfields. Made from beans instead of corn, but enjoyed them in the past as well.

In the UK you'll find plenty of people who will buy a meal deal (sandwich, bag of crisps and a drink) at lunchtime and even put those crisps on the sandwich as an extra crunch. Crisps sandwich on it's own is a popular 'thang' in the UK.
