When do the updates usually happen?
It's quite a bit, but it won't solve your mana problems if you're having trouble casting stuff. Go for Soul Ring, Arcane Boots or Ring of Basilus. The biggest problem I'm having in transitioning is the relative value of things and the relative power in items.
Is 10 INT a lot? A little? Ok? Is that worth spending 200 gold? 400?
300 is not very much, 900 is average, 2000 is quite a bit, 3000 is a lot.Is 300 a lot of gold, or is 900 a lot? 2000?
That will be a problem for every hero (moreso for STR and AGI than INT), unless you're packing mana regen in the form of spells or clarity potions. An ability consumes 100 mana at level 1. Is that a problem for a bruiser? A mage? A carry?
):Also, random bugs don't help. I didn't have health bars until 5 minutes into the game![]()

When I play Dazzle I follow the recommended build pretty closely and it works well most of the time.
Boots, Magic Wand, Power Treads, Urn of Shadows, Mekansm is my usual build. Mekansm will give everyone around you armor, as will your ult (if you actually hit them with it). After that I go Scythe of Vyse if the game lasts long enough.
I'll also get a Soul Ring early on if I'm doing really poorly on mana (i.e., if the enemy in my lane is being super aggressive). It's usually not an issue.
You should get a Soul Ring on Dazzle as core.
If you're never running out of mana then you're doing something wrong.
Tried Queen of Pain yesterday. The guide I used recommended leveling scream and blink till 4 then touching the first ability(can't remember name). Kind of felt like I couldn't do much after blinking in and hitting with the scream.
Anyone have any tips?

I tried playing Dazzle as Solo pusher / Aura Bitch, was such a fun game, 397 GPM, pushed 3 towers down solo, was unkillable cause I had so much armor. If you're never running out of mana then you're doing something wrong.
I think I'm with Ikuu on this, I like the flexibility and options it provides. The heal/hurt functionality isn't lost for going with a soul ring, and I can get mana for my other skills as well (whereas if I'm out of mana with an Urn, I can't cast barring regen or a consumable). But if I'm not running out of mana... If the game is going rough, then I'm going to get it, because it's cheap, and it'll help out. If the game is going good, there's considerably less reason to get it.
I let someone else get the urn if they go for it, but if no one does, then I might as well. Dazzle's pretty good at getting lots of assists, so I usually get to stack it up pretty high.
I just got in. I feel so cheap playing Riki but he just kills people so easily. Is there item (besides sentry wards) that counter invisibility?
His ult is ridiculously underrated.
I never said he was wrong about its usefulness, by any means (though he clearly took it that way, for whatever reason). I'm just saying that when I play - and I play Dazzle pretty well for the level I'm at, more often than I play him terribly - mana is almost never an issue. When it is, I get a Soul Ring. When it's not... why in the world would I waste the gold? I can save it up and get more regen, more intelligence, more other stuff from better items.I think I'm with Ikuu on this, I like the flexibility and options it provides. I did that one. :3Speaking of pushing, I probably committed a grand heresy in the latter stages of a long game by selling my treads and picking up Boots of Travel, solely for the purpose of warping around the map and pushing the lanes quickly with Shadow Wave. Never got caught out and the lanes stayed pushed, so at the very least it didn't enter "omg wtf are you doing" territory.
This is actually common, and acceptable practice, also lets you Buy Back and TP right back in.Speaking of pushing, I probably committed a grand heresy in the latter stages of a long game by selling my treads and picking up Boots of Travel, solely for the purpose of warping around the map and pushing the lanes quickly with Shadow Wave.
You should be using your heal to make sure your carry is never in much danger, and also to harass in the lane if you're against melee.
Shadow Wave on melee is an excellent way to setup a kill, it's such an easy nuke if you can time it properly, absolutely nothing wrong using it at the right times. That's retarded. If you are the babysitter, healing for harass can easily steal an entire wave of farm from your carry, and is guaranteed to push the lane.
Yeah, definitely. If I know we're about to gank, I get my shit ready. But except for those instances... See above!Shadow Wave on melee is an excellent way to setup a kill, it's such an easy nuke if you can time it properly, absolutely nothing wrong using it at the right times.
The name may change, but the tongue leads as always. It's amazing how you just keep missing the point, isn't it? Whateverrrr.

I think Ikuu meant the same thing.
People forgot to mention that Necromicon Brawler will also reveal anything invisible btw.I just got in. I feel so cheap playing Riki but he just kills people so easily. Is there item (besides sentry wards) that counter invisibility?
I dislike laning with Carries, their mostly Divas that miss last hits, may as well take them for yourself.Oh I know. I love it. But Ikuu said use it to harass a melee lane. Which does what I said. Completely fucks up the carry's farm.
I played my first matchmaking game in a while and actually won it! I ended up being 4/2/9 as Windrunner, which is pretty good for me.
Most of my assists were Sniper getting the last hit though. I almost got the first blood. Right near the beginning, during laning, I tied Nature's Prophet to a tree and unleashed my W on him. I was going to follow up with my autoattack and then Sniper got him.
Necronomicon in pubs lol.People forgot to mention that Necromicon Brawler will also reveal anything invisible btw.
Necronomicon in pubs lol.
I've seen Necrobook once or twice in this game and it was Thorin or Loki using it.
Update should be pretty soon, I hope. Putting down five GAF bucks on 4 heroes this week.
Carry me more then :3I've gotten Necronomicon every game I play Beastmaster.
http://www.playdota.com/forums/488652/necronomicon-mini-guide-ramomar/I've never used it and have only seen it in tournaments. Aside from it spawning some dude or dudes and leveling up (how does this work?) what are the advantages of using this item?
Get out of that Beginner / Intermediate bracket! Happens so much when I play Brood / Riki that it's not even fun playing those heroes now. I don't make Shadow Blade on heroes anymore because someone is guaranteed to make a Necromicon.Necronomicon in pubs lol.
