Is it just me or or are binds to your mouse buttons bugged? Some games, if I use blink dagger with mouse 4 it instantly blinks to where I have my cursor instead of letting me target a spot myself. It differs with every game and is like this with all the items, i.e hp potions instantly gets used on myself and tangos instantly eat the tree I have my cursor on.

If you press the button twice, blink dagger will blink you towards your base and if you press a salve or clarity twice, it will be used on yourself. Same thing with TP, it will tp you to your base if you press it twice.
But I'm not sure if that's the problem if you blink to where your cursor is.

In the learn option it classifies Vengeful Spirit as support, probably because of her aura and her wave but she has her magic missle stun that should be maxed out first. However, just because she has a single stun I wouldn't classify her as a very good support class. Not with heroes like Dazzle and the Witch Doctor to choose from.

So because she can't heal she isn't a good support? VS is one of the best warders in the game, can roam from the start, boosts damage, and can save people/pull enemy out of position.

Yes, I figure the game must somehow register it as me pressing twice, even though I don't. :(

Had this problem with my old worn out mouse. Sometimes it would just decide that I clicked twice instead of once. The problem is gone now with my new mouse.
I don't have this issue in HoN or any other program so I don't think it's anything wrong with my mouse. Maybe it's a driver issue or something.

yo VS mid is good too! When you hit level 6 you can swap an enemy away in the race for runes... or just level up aura and continue to last hit away!

So, does GAF play together? The only reason I haven't played again is because of the lack of a concede option GAF's textfile solution for autojoining the channel didn't work. :(

kag: plays supports as carries and carries as supports. Why cant you be like your brother and play everything as a roamer?

Guess I just haven't seen a good player with her then.

If you just break down her skills she has: disable, debuffing (reduce enemy damage and armor), buffing (improve team damage by significant percentage), and a multi purpose ability that can be used for initiation, counter initiation, saving allies, or saving yourself. It's easy to see she's an amazing support, she is just much less forgiving than others.

LOL

"guys I'm playing roaming fayde"

You just want an excuse for going 0-15. "But I'm swapping and helping the team, guys!"

swag got carried by my vengeful so it's all good.

So I've been practicing with bots and tried lifestealer. Basically I jungled and was level par with the rest of the field until level 13-15, and I've got at least one or two auxiliary items. Is that about right? Obviously it's much easier with bots because they don't roam the jungle, but still.

Game just gets easy at that point; you just rage and go at the enemy in teamfights.

I was way too harsh on her I suppose. But I would be open to trying her out. Any tips on how I should level her and what items I should go for?

After not having played DOTA in maybe 3-4 years, I've been squeezing in a few games of 2. I think I've only played 10 so far, can't really gauge how I've been doing regardless of stats and W/L record.

Been doing alright with Tinker because of comfort factor and its been far too easy with Furion.

But yeah, doesn't matter as skills are all across the board with teammates and opposition.

I'll join the GAF channel next time I play.

accept that you will inevitably die in every upcoming team fight.

As long as my team doesn't chicken out and win the fight I have no problem with dying during a fight. Getting killed during a battle happens on occasion when I play Tidehunter.

I know, but I'm telling you, that in every team fight, you're going to die.

every team fight.

EDIT: Oops didn't realize there were already 20 posts on the next page saying this. Whatever. Vengeful Spirit's a stun support. The description is accurate. She doesn't need kills. She's all about setting up kills for the carries, using her stun, her armor debuff, and her swap.

Lack of skill isn't my problem. I'm dog shit and I know it.

Their refusal to speak a common language everyone else has adopted this game drives me insane though. You could have a game with 4 people from 4 nationalities all speaking English. But the Russian will continue to speak Russian even if you've made it clear no one understands them. But if you die voilà: They speak enough English to tell you to: fuck off noob uninstall.

I know I'm generalizing but BY CHRIST IT FEELS GOOD TO GET IT OFF MY CHEST.
This happens to me often enough to be a problem, too.

After they die: "wtf noob why you didn't help me"

Oh I don't know maybe because I didn't understand whatever the fuck you said before you died? I don't mind people who can't speak English well, or even at all, but when they insult me for not being able to understand them...

Had an awesome bloodseeker last game, carried a team hard vs us, but we still won since it really was a 3v1(Two AFKs on our team). Decided to give him a try because of it. Muhahaha. They stopped venturing out alone by mid game. I can see at higher levels he is useless due to the ult requiring to move. But damn was it fun silencing them and watching em squirm.

I'm really enjoying how much more versatile the game is over League. Though I do miss skill shot characters like Lux and Eszreal

I accidentally used my ult on an illusion today, yeeugh how embarrassing. Guess playing this game when you're tired is a bad idea. What made it more embarrassing was that the viper on our team decided to blame the entire match on that one mistake, even though by then we had 3 towers left and they had almost every single one still up.

He didn't blame the Dazzle not buying one ward throughout the entire match so we had no vision, nor the Zeus who refused to go in on team battles with full HP and full mana even when the enemies had no health, but he blamed me the guy who accidentally ulted an illusion yet performed perfectly throughout the rest of the match.

The latest massive wave of invites seem to have let in a bunch of people who just have no interest in playing properly or actually being helpful. 2 weeks ago every game I got into I had team mates that knew what they were doing, but every match for the past few days no one seems to have a clue and people seem to have really sour attitudes. It's really starting to put me off playing completely.

One of the better games I had today, but jesus christ some people are just dire. ES and LS did nothing this entire game, and ES keps on insisting to go dagger even when he was 0-6. I held the fort till Drow could take over and Tinker wasn't bad either, but man was it close. If they would have pushed harder in the early game we would have lost 25 minutes ago.

Dark seer is so much fun to play, just go woods and farm soul ring and vanguard. Then push lanes until you have phase boots (or boots of travels) and agha. Then win every team fight and push towers in 5 sec with wall ulti. The ulti is sooooo strong with agha

Lol...
FACE BOOTS, HAHAHAHAHA

Seems we got matched up with a few Gaffers just now, wasn't pretty.

Shame someone didn't record Archie raging, was pretty intense :lol

Go into practice and learn how to jungle with Furion, easiest and strongest hero to jungle with in the pool.

someone recommend me some junglers and give me some builds. My jungle furion is just really bad.

Bloodseeker
Lifestealer
Axe

As for builds the recommend is pretty spot on. Take a Vanguard with Axe, feel free to double shield. Bloodseeker usually takes solo mid though.

I noticed none of the builds mention a Quelling Blade (more damage to creeps). I usually buy a shield/Quelling blade/tango to start with.

Boy I really need a definitive hero besides Zeus. Being random has its downside with, especially item builds. Also yay 3 wins in a row with gaffers, kind of helped when I took support ganker role.

When I'm jungling with Axe I double shield/tangoes, wait until 53 seconds, pull the easy creep camp to stack it, and then wander around the camps, popping a tango if needed.

Lifestealer is super easy to jungle as. Take a level in Feast, then just rotate around the camps, I go shield/quelling/tangoes, it should be easy enough, pop a tango going against centaurs or wildkins though, they do a fair amount of damage early and you might not survive them. When you hit 6 you can use devour to heal, or ambush for a gank(Jump in a creep at about the xx:10/40 mark, they should be at the first entrance to the jungle by then, and simply wait until you get close enough to the enemy and the solo laner is ready. I'd recommend a caster minion as they are usually the last to die).

LOL @ some of the character models. Rhasta and Furion in particular look freaky weird. Lina and QoP look awesome! Can't wait. Kinda weird, though, seeing some of these heroes make the list considering how new they are relative to the age of the map itself.

Make the list? They are all getting in eventually. They just feeling confident in these heroes so they released them.

Lina looks really floaty IMO, she just seems to be there, especially when she's walking. Female Pyromancer in HoN did the Lina model a lot better, QOP on the other hand, is really fucken good.

Sorry, I meant specifically the character portraits as shown on the OP. Lina looks a bit like Phoenix from X-Men. That I can dig.

I think you missed my point. To me, playing this game since it was still Eul's, some of the characters are still in their infancy, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not convinced they all work, especially Husk with his cheap ass shit right now. I'm just saying, it's weird seeing some of these characters listed as part of the roster. Personally, I don't think they've all earned their place as All Stars.

I'm not sure if you missed it but Ikuu and I wrote about jungling furion one page back in this thread. There's some good tips there.

If you want to try some other, enchantress is really easy. Just get basilus and use enchant on strong creeps in the woods. Just pick up a new one when the old dies (you can only have one creep under your control). Nothing can go wrong unless you get ganked. No mana problems and no hp problems. This works in games for beginners where the one in woods isn't expected to do more than just farm until they have a certain item or level. You can later use strong creeps to help you push towers. I would suggest you to go treads first and then aghanims. You'll need the str treads for some early hp since her str gain is terrible and agha makes her ulti extremly powerful.

Husker is super old though, he's just gotten some (much needed) buffs so that he can actually kill people. Before, as you should know since you've played Dota in its infancy, his ultimate didn't even have a charge on it. You had to walk up to people to even use it, so he was completely obliterated before he got his blink dagger. Now he's actually playable. The heroes you're going to see get in last are no doubt the newest heroes and hero remakes -- Treant, Tuskar, Phoenix, Rubick, Pit Lord, Wisp, Disruptor, and a few others.
