Commends should remove reports.

Don't think commend is meant to reward people who carry

Its meant to reward positive behaviour

You can you know, talk to them. Say thanks for the amazing supporting man! I'm sure it'll feel just as good to them, or even better than a +1 to some number

Muted again, awesome! This system is shit. If you are a viper who when we are on the verge of victory decides to sell all of their stuff and buy couriers, you deserve to be fucking called out on it. If you are a ceaselessly feeding axe, you deserve to be called on it. If you are a fucking pudge who continuously gets his hook stolen by rubick you deserve to be called out on it.

Because you don't lead.

Earthshaker after Void used his Chrono just to kill BH late game: "But if Void's Chrono is on CD, how are we going to kill his team?"

A few times Void really fucked his team with Chronospheres (right on top of Macopyre + Acid Spray, or even better when I was Shadow Bladed and he couldn't see me, I stunned Void and the guy stuck right next to him in the Chronosphere as they were on the edge of it).

Full on greedy Alchemist is best Alchemist. I think I've only played him like 3 times (since he became relevant, there was basically a year period where I didn't play him once), but I've gone greedy build every time and it has worked out for me.

Why? It's not going to make them play any better. Calling people out just makes you look like a dick that should be muted.

The Viper thing he mentioned he absolutely has a point. To some degree though you should be able to address their mistakes without getting muted though. Reminds me of when I (probably) got muted because of the Venge that swapped my Meepos.

A person who sells all his stuff to buy couriers is more likely to do that next time if you call him out on it. It's an attention seeking dick move.

I call people out when they make too many mistakes. Never been muted.

People should learn it is not calling people out that gets someone to report you. It's HOW you do it.

You've read this, right? This part in particular:

Multiple people ganging up on you to report you in the same game has no effect on whether or not you are banned. We are looking at patterns of behavior over time only.
You're not getting communication banned over a single game. You need to learn to control yourself. A friend of mine tried to get himself muted on a smurf, spamming absolutely insane shit every single game AND it took him 10 games to get muted.

You should've reported the viper for feeding/ability abuse perhaps, but playing bad is not an offense. As the person flaming them, you're the only one doing wrong here I'm afraid. If they're not going to learn, then they are bad, okay, fine, and that one game might be fucked but you can only try to move on or risk getting muted if you let yourself go :p

This, here, is also very true.

Why don't you just report them and move on? What's the point in chewing them out, especially when they are purposely doing it and won't really listen to your logic and reasoning? Unless it's someone who has no idea that they're doing x or y but even if that situation you should approach them with civility rather than anger. There is almost no point to yelling at someone who is feeding on purpose, just report and move on.

Even when they're WINNING the game? I have a feeling they're doing it whether you call them out on it or not. Definitely something worth telling the other team to report them over. If it's something like that usually the other team does cooperate, it has worked for me and I've seen results.

Or, you know, you're wrong. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=66523161&postcount=16252

And purposefully feeding is not playing bad. Its called game ruining behavior.

Just because one report in your first game can lead to a ban says nothing abotu how the report system works on a larger scale over a long period of time. I've been caht banned once and it was after I was behaving like an asshole all week. I think the system mostly works. Literally everyone I know who's been chatbanned it prone to being an asshole in dota.

Ikuu

Had his dog run over by Blizzard's CEO
He did that with two new accounts, it's very possible that Valve bans them quicker than others. I still have no issues with the system, and from my experience the people who get muted deserved it.

Seems to work pretty well so far, I just chat banned player also couldn't ping as much or abuse the chat wheel.

What the mutes system should do is just mute them using the manual option. If you are muted, but your team would rather have you communicating they can unmute you manually so you can still contribute. Its a team based game, let the team decide whether the person should be muted or not. Not some awful system that then fucks over 4 strangers because one of their teammates his handicapped.

I have a sneaking suspicion Valve has highly automated the reportauditing. I can't imagine them going through replays for every report that is made, that would require way too much time per report and thus an absurdly large workforce.

So how do they 'investigate' all these reports then? My guess would be some kind of filter that weighs in how many reports you've gotten in a certain match (or timeframe), then for 'Chat abuse'-reports checks the chatlogs for bad words.

Solution? Use unintelligible cursewords. Like cockney swearing.

"Ye sodding Jack an' Danny!"

So in IronChan's situation you are winning and Viper decides to sell all items and buy couriers. What is your response?

b-but Reddit said.

Also, Loki_Demi has cleaned up his act. Motherfucking LOKI_DEMI.

I'm not saying it's perfect, but the mute system partially works.

I'd have called him out I guess and reported for feeding. If he really got chat banned just for that it's stupid, but there may actually already have been a report from previous game?

They can't ping as much. Its limited to like 3.

Really? Didn't know. Is this like 3 times in x seconds?

Ya something like that, you cannot endlessly spam them if you are muted.

No. Piling on does nothing.

Okay so this just happened

Starts of game, we had lesh lina supports and I picked am at the end because we needed a carry. Asked if I could have a support bot because am isnt that strong early in the lane especially against a clock lion.

Lesh and Lina proceed to literally say "fuck off am picker" and abandon me to solo bot, lesh then proceeds to ping spam and call everyone noobs the entire early game while feeding clinkz top because neither lesh/lina got detection.

Then once clinkz is horribly fed, lesh and lina start trolling and typing in all chat "report am won't stop trash talking". I literally hadn't trash talked at all, not even once, the only thing I said to them was "can you please stop ping spamming lesh".

Goddamn how are you supposed to win your game with people like that

your friend making a smurf is a poor example since i doubt newbies know how to report anyone.

and i actully just get chat banned for the first time, there were 3 things that happend in the last 2 days that i assume got me chat banned

1. a silencer on my team said i was a noob while we were losing, i told him he was horrible the whole game

2. played with a gaffer, we were getting crushed, i told lion he should use his ulti at the start of the fight, and he thought me condesending

3. played another game and doom (which was horrid) was giving our alch flak for going a support build(alch was a gaffer) i told doom he was sucked

and then i got my first chat ban

See the the thing is I don't get upset if someone is bad. If they try their best, ask for advice, or apologize when they do something wrong then I have no problem with them ever. I might point out what they did wrong but not with the intention of being a dick, just so that they can learn for future games.

What does piss me off is when people waste my time. If we are in an hour long game, and one of our teammates has been caught out time after time, and asked time after time to be more careful, and continues to do so and loses the game as a result, then we have a problem. I honestly spend most of the game congratulating people when they do well, and trying to give tips when I can. Its when people don't listen and cost us the game that I get pissed.

I hate it when we win lanes and lead in kills early game but still lose the match because our teamfight heroes are trash.

Wanted my 4 person team (I was dead) to push their T3 and racks when Dragon Knight and Skeleton King were dead, but no, they wanted to fall back. Well, fuck you team.

Also, I think I had my first match of 'Support without feeding'. 4 kills, 5 deaths, 33 assists as KOTL. Also loved all my items at the end.

I couldn't do much after Overgrowth. Ench didn't do much either. CK and Viper were doing work but we wouldn't get kills and then everyone would just fall back. I was usually the Necro scythe target, so I spent the latter half of the game watching my teammates get kills while not pushing, getting ganked, or falling back from teammates because of low health. I'm a super scrub right now and not a good treant by any means, but our early game was super good which makes this worse.

We traded tier 2s very early and we didn't take their mid t3 mid game. I think those two mistakes cost us the game.
