This lag is horrible. It's definitely having an effect on teamfights too. The time between Funn1k's vacuum and wall was like 2-3 seconds so he missed 3-4 people.

He didn't have mana. The players are in China connecting to Chinese servers. The casters are in the West Coast and generally US to Asia connection isn't very good. Most of the lag is only for the casters.

A bit off topic. It's truly surprising to me to see how many people don't know the difference between internet lag and bad fps. This isn't to anyone here, just real life stuff and Twitch chat.

I hate trying to help someone fix something when the only description of a problem is "lag".

My stream is fine (well, not too terrible). I really don't understand Na'vi's draft. Beastmaster Dendi and PL Hvost picks were both bad choices.

BTS really needs to use their breaks to switch computers, because their main is clearly crapping up. Stop blaming Perfect World servers!

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not, but it really isn't their computer. It's the connection to the Chinese servers.

Their secondary PC wasn't having the same issues (for a while before then, too), such that they continued to cast from it.

Have a look at this comment from LD. 0 frames dropped the whole broadcast. It's not that their computer can't handle it, but the connections are just shaky from US to Asia.

The first series today had 0 problems. It's just the connection being finicky.

The two PCs are on the same internet connection I assume, and the issue isn't fps related. So either it's something specific to that PC, like crapped up drivers, or the Chinese servers are prioritizing one client higher than the other.

Well, I'm kinda puzzled why their main computer can't route for shit, yet the computer sitting a few feet away isn't struggling then.

He may be watching the Russian stream as some kind of fallback option. Just to be able to continue "casting" when it gets that bad.

I am just guessing, though.

Anyone have tips for teaching Dota 2 to new players? My buddy is trying to give this game a shot, and I feel like I'm letting him down.

Typed this up before but it didn't go through on my phone -.-

I only started playing over a month ago, and until then I'd looked into it and was intrigued, I told my buddy about it and he wasn't that interested. It's an alien game genre to most. But after persuading him to give it a go with me, we now both have over 200 hours of game time. I think the thing with this game is, you need to invest a lot of time just to grasp the basics, and with so many people used to pick up and play games like CoD it is quite the shock. But it is a really rewarding game when you win, and once it gets you hooked you are really hooked.

If any new players want to play a couple bot matches with me and I can try give some tips (I'm not pro or anything but I'd have appreciated some help at the start) I'd be glad to. And if anyone with around 100 wins want to do some MM some time, add me also.

Edit: Just realised why Valve haven't officially released yet, they are waiting for the new OT, we're almost at 20,000 posts!

Since today i constantly disconnect, and when I want to reconnect I get "Disconnected from server, unable to locate game session" and cannot reconnect.... Never happened to me before in 1000+ games, today it happened 3 times in 4 games.
Something wrong with DOTO?

!

Yeah pretty much. Also the problem with this game is after 1000+ hours you still get reminders that you can suck so badly playing it.

It is a fucking abyss.

Yeah I have 270 hours I think and I feel like a noob. Some games I do brilliant, some I do average and some I just mess up completely. In any other game I'd be a pro by now hehe
