What about this PL nerf.:

Spirit Lance
-Cooldown 10secs (up from 7 secs)

Juxtapose
-10% chance to multuply (down from 12%)
-Duration 15secs (down from 20)

Probably too much.

Just nerf diffusal blade. Pl is the only hero that 100% gets the item, bam done. Just like e blade and Morphling.

Naga Siren.

My problem is that the balance issues are far worse in pub play as opposed to pro play.
I believe there is a difference, and in pub play (low-medium) its much easier to stay alive, farm and carry.

I do think its possible to have characters that are more (not completely) balanced across more tiers of play. Instead of just saying "..but its balanced at a professional level!".

"...But it's balanced at a professional level!" is the point though. Everyone is playing the same game, wherever it's trenchies or Invictus Gaming. Balancing to the lowest common denominator makes no sense. They wouldn't nerf queens in chess because a beginner is always getting checkmated by them. Despite minor things (like the first version of the Centaur ult rework, I still have nightmares about that week), IceFrog is an extremely competent game designer. He knows what he's doing. I'm not saying he is 100% infallible, because nobody is, but he usually gets it right. You can look at every single basic mechanic of Dota for proof of that. The lower level players need to learn the ways to deal with a PL, who, to be fair, is quite a strong hero right now, but he is not at out of whack like some would believe. The issue is usually a lack of coordination to keep him down, or the other team playing well to protect him during your ganks. In a few cases it's being outpicked, but you need to pressure him early. You need wards to do this, and part of the thing in pubs is that support is difficult, and everyone says it's the place for beginners to start, but I'm but sure I agree. You need to ward properly with the little farm you will get, which can be difficult. Some people don't understand that and will yell at supports that were buying wards for not having any big items at 30 minutes. I remember a recent game where I was Jakiro (playing as the "5") and early to mid game did not go well. I kept wards up all game, did courier and the upgrade, as well as sentries. At 30 minutes, some guy yells at me for only having mana boots at 30 minutes, saying there is "no excuse". The rest of the team was on my side.

Those aren't bad, but I think the Juxtapose duration reduction is too much.

IceFrog should bring back Spectre's Vengeance skill.

That skill will damage you when you kill a creep when laning against Spectre. lol

Radius: 1000
Creep Damage: 50/75/100
Hero Damage: 200/250/300

I'd love a buff to OD to counter PL, something like the damage done to illusions by his ulti is transferred over to the main hero (lol). Boom, one shot PL.

EXACTLY. Do you understand now? It's not a very good idea to let one of the best late game carries in the game have absolute uncontested free farm, kills, and towers without even switching lanes for over 20 minutes. That's called A) getting outdrafted B) getting outplayed or C) just playing like shit. Usually it's a combination of the three.

My entire team went in for a gank one time, we blew dust, saw him running, blew up a TA trap near him and he still managed to get away. Trying to kill a PL is infuriating.

And as I said earlier, you cant focus your game on countering a single hero when there are other 4 for you to care about. Its almost impossible when you're going against a PL trilane unless you do a 5-men gank.

On the PL topic I think it's worth noting that while yes he has weaknesses, exploiting them to win isn't nearly as easy as it's being made out to be in here. If it was, professional teams wouldn't be losing to him as often as they do, and he wouldn't be banned/picked so often.

So I started learning Jungle NP today. Can some explain when/where is optimal to use his ultimate? I don't quite understand the spell yet.

Its a farming tool. Occasionally you'll get kills with it, but you really shouldn't wait for two or three minutes to try and get a kill. Pop it every time its off cooldown. It pushes all of the lanes, which as NP is basically your job.

I can't play Dota anymore right now. Fucking awful ping spikes on USEast which shouldn't be happening. Can hardly last hit, and it's super stuttery/laggy at the worst times. Don't know if it's just me, or on Valve's end, but I can't play like this. Spikes of 300-700 ping at least once a minute is unacceptable.

I could deal with just high ping if it was steady, but when it goes from a normal ~90 ping to 300 at random intervals, the game is unplayable.

Dude I had the same problem with us west and us east the other day. To the point I was getting between 250 and 1000ms spikes. Unplayable. If it was consistently 1000ms or 250 I can deal, but fluctuating ping makes me a sad panda.

I got a bit of coaching for number 5 support today from FrosT from flipside tactics and boy just that 1 hour really helped. Now my homework for the week is stacking and pulling and double pulling

Trying to kill a PL with manta, heart, drums, diffusal is infuriating yes, just like trying to kill an AM with heart, bfury, manta is infuriating. If you 5 man ganked a PL that didn't have hear though... I don't know what to tell you guys.

Just make sure there are lots of creeps visible somewhere on screen and let er rip.

You can use it for kills, but the actual damage is pretty low if you are using it for a direct kill - 140/180/225 so they would need a sliver

Yo thanks for creating that QOP set for PL. Really like it. :) Can't wait to level it.

If you have a problem with tryhards picking PL in pubs for the ez wins then repick some retarded aggressive trilane and fuck his shit up. I do that shit to TA pickers all the time

I think the only nerf needed for PL is to put a range on Juxtapose. Real PL needs to be within 1500 (or whatever) for an illusion to juxtapose. It just sucks as a squishy, he can just throw a lance and walk away (cool guys don't look at explosions) and the illusion just duplicates and destroys you.

useful to post what server you're having issues with

uswest here, can't find a server

I've only been on USEast lately with my ping issue. I'll have to check Europe West and USWest later to see if either is more stable. Euro West I can play support on decently at least, even if the ping isn't great for last hitting. But yeah, I just don't want to play if the experience is going to be shit due to randomly spiking ping.

And we'll have to get Anuxi to play support to practice stacking and pulling. Still not something I see often enough in my bracket. I can usually get it if I ask specifically, but all too often I'll still get games where I can just imagine the blank stares on their faces when I ask. It is a more advanced tactic that I wouldn't expect someone newer to the game to know about, but it can be really critical to doing well at least in your safe lane. Not sure/haven't had much practice on how to do the hard camp pull on Dire (from either side) though. I have successfully done a Radiant pull-through a couple times, but usually I'll just have it stacked.

But his isn't even part of the pro scene, I don't remember the last time I saw him picked/banned.

He was picked and banned a few times last night in the western quals and even before then pops up in the second round of bans reasonably often, mostly against teams that are known to run him.

Maybe I have not been paying that much attention but to me PL seems a mostly ignored hero at this point.

He's not prioritized as a carry but he shows up, probably as much as AM (which is another that isn't prioritized as much). Hes seen much less of a drop off as Sven, Lycan, Naga or Morph and still shows up more than CK, Alch, SF, Tiny or Void
