I wouldn't even say it's a one point wonder. Feast is a one point wonder. Blur is a one point wonder. DK stun is a one point wonder. Those 3 skills (along with a bunch of other ones) are extremely good at level 1; leveling them is just a bonus.

So is the mana aura. It's effects are significantly more subtle, but they aren't negligible. I'll take a point of mana aura over another point in frost nova any day.

That skill point is 0.5 more seconds of slow and 50 more magical damage or 0.5 more seconds of freeze.
I'd take 1 mana per second to the whole team (2 for CM) over both of those.

Back to laggy ass games with unbearable lag spikes :/

Just had one, but the experience is so bad that it'll probably put me off playing for a day or two. Reset my internet which may fix it, but I'd rather wait a bit than even chance enduring a game like that again.

ggs guys, one of these days we'll have to try a true 'LoD' mode. Also have the option for private lobbies now thanks to contributions from bzm (hoot) and milk (king of omg swindles) so we won't have to worry about pubs stealing spots or feeding etc

Meanwhile, in Pillowland.

Losing mid to Pudge as Batrider.

Looks like a bunch of gaffers in the GB tournament. Doesn't look like many other low-level teams are signing up though, which worries me :[

Can I join!?

Also, Chaos Online is going live in south korea

DOTA2 is dead. How can you compete with this?

Haly will leave us. There are too many waifu to count

I looked at some of those on the site, assuming Google translate is accurate enough, some of those really are the same damn concept as Dota heroes.

"Akasha" (no relation to our Akasha aka QoP) is basically a QoP with built in Blademail.

"Tubalkein" is basically an RP-less Magnus

"Corpos" both looks like Pudge and pretty much is Pudge with Rot reworked as two skills and no Flesh Heap.

"Rikian" is similar to Lycan

"Lucifer" is similar to Warlock.

I didn't go through every single hero, but from what I saw some of these are pretty much the same concept as Dota heroes. I think some of them sounded like LoL heroes too, but I'm no expert on that game.

Chaos is a really old mobabased on dota due to the dota team dropping the ball on translating their game for South Korea. Hence why there is a lot of dota influence. But it is the reason why Dota isnt popular in SK

A lot of heroes look like direct port but aren't because they switched up a few moves/abilities. Still some of the stuff is so ridiculously blatant like a strength hero is straight up named Kunkka..

Played my first two games as Rubick earlier tonight. Went pretty well:

I think he's going to get a spot on my short list of favorite supports. There's very little that's as satisfying as using Rupture on Bloodseeker or using Doom on Doom.

you people need to realise that chaos online isnt a new game, just like dota 2 isnt a new game

its basically the updated version of the korean port of dota 1

I was wondering before, and don't take this too seriously, more of a topic for dicussion.. how would Dota work, if Valve decided to make a spin off game as an MMO type game.

It probably wouldn't work, and people probably don't want anything of the sort but it still got me thinking. Could a game with 100+ heroes to choose from work in that kind of game? If there wasn't an enclosed map and there weren't just 10 heroes playing. How do you think it would work? Besides probably a lot of balancing tweaks. Would it be something along the lines of WoW or would it be something wildly different? Again just a theoretical discussion :P

Also.. how would someone get into a friendly GAF match? :)

add Neogaf chat channel
optional:

I think eventually Dota-style gameplay will expand into persistent worlds, but it wouldn't work with what we currently know as "MMORPGs"

Dota MMO wouldn't really work in my opinion.

MMOs suck anyway. So boring and repetitive. Go fetch this. Go collect that.

Yeah I certainly don't think it would fit the MMMOas we know it now. But it would be pretty cool having larger battles and random encounters in some form.
