wow that dreamhack theater is nice, too bad they might only play one game in it

Yeah seems like kind of a waste that they moved and might only be there for one game. Really should have been a Bo5 for the grand finals.

It's all filled up though, which just proves that Dota shouldn't have been shunted to the pitiful little area it was for the rest of the tournament. But sponsors gonna sponsor I suppose.

There are a bunch of finals to run. Can't just be dota.

SOme of the finals of dreamhack will be on tv so they have a schedule. As you know, games can go on for a long time.

Just played another game, this time against Riki. :) Early game he was easy mark. Late game I bought a gem, and got him more than he got me. Still think Juggernaut or Lifestealer would be a better melee hero choice.

On the other hand... Offlane Lich is oldschool as hell and living armor + dark ritual spam = one sad safe lane. I like it.

edit: THIS LICH IS CRUSHING

Weaver pick was pretty great. Only stuns Alliance has are Homing Missile (lol) and Mana Leak (also lol). And Static Storm is the sole silence with the only hero that would possibly want an Orchid being Naix, which is far from ideal. Time Lapse is a match for Glimpse as well, so break even there at best.

He's just going to run rampant, especially with the double armors allowing big dives.

I think the greatest tournament I ever watched was Cyborgmatt's ATOD WTF-mode tournament.

The strategy of picks and counter picks was awesome to watch, and then you get surprises like a team taking a chance that Sniper's shrapnel doesn't stack. It turned out it did, and they basically instantly lost as piles shrapnel just melted buildings.

Don't draft a low cool-down disable, get rolled.

Is anyone really surprised? If you can't lock down a Weaver with disables, he will faceroll your team. Only thing I'm shocked about is that a collection of talent of Alliance's level would make the elementary-level mistake of forgetting you need reliable disables.

Well he plays the Naix if forced to (as in this game), but always jungles him.
He was clearly out of his comfort zone here which was the point of the draft. As was drafting Weaver when they had low CCs while getting double armor against their physical damage dealers like TA, Gyro, LS etc.

Out drafted completely.

Well that's the beauty of drafting. Weaver got picked up fourth, Quantic baited the Lifestealer + Gyro combo which Alliance LOVE and coincidentally are both pretty terrible against Weaver, and they picked up a Treant + Lich which gave Weaver near-immunity to all damage.

shira-bot who is going to win game 3?

someone here said Alliance will never be outdrafted.

Well they should never be outdrafted if they pick a Bulldog hero first (which they do most of the time), especially when bans are being targeted against him so early. They were greedy this game by going Gyro + Lifestealer first. What Alliance should have done was pick up Dark Seer in the first two (with LD and Furion already out).

And I don't think Nyx was even touched in that draft, but I don't think Alliance really plays it.

One thing I like about Quantic is that they pick reaaally strong lane heroes and just snowball from there. OD, Lich, Treant, Batrider... These heroes have enormous laning strength.

So Alliance is going for a greedy global strat. Now, is Quantic baiting it out, or Alliance going for some meta fake out.

Whoa, Tree + Lich in a pro match? I went up against that combo two days ago in mm as BH and that armor combo was brutal (jinada did like no damage)...

I want to see Alliance pick Bristle Back

I will also assume the cheering is over Alliance picking Alchemist and not a ward being killed in LoL.
