Welp. I'm a bit annoyed that I had to cheese the last one, but I did it; 45 quests completed with 3 stars. I still have one Legion quest to do (but those don't matter so much since you get the unlock just for completing the path rather than 3*ing everything). It's the "Purge 10 stuns", which seems like a lot if you ask me. I wonder what the completion rate on that one is.

More annoyingly is that I fucked up; I can't do the daily hero achievement. I've been at 67 for a couple of weeks, thinking there'd be time to round out the last 3. But I got stuck playing Axe longer than I really care for, and now I've run out of days. Stupid of me.

Should I just buy the Wow expansion? My gut says its a dumb idea, but I kinda wanna do it.

Why pay for WoW when Dota 2 is free?

On second thoughts, never mind.

Last thing I purchased in Dota was the Portal announcer in late 2013. I might well be the least profitable Dota player ever (relative to the time played) for Valve.

I have spammed Underlord on a new smurf. The hero is great fun, I love the idea of having only ground-targeted AOE or auras spells and items, it makes the game easier for old men without quick clicking abilities.

Plus the early laning stage is made very easy as the hero is quite imbalanced as a harassing support in a dual lane. With proper care, you win all trades.

Underlord might be the new Enchantress-like obnoxious unkillable offlaner to spam for ez mmr. If the high mmr player takes carry you can often ruin their game. Had 45 denies against an anti mage at 12 minutes once.

Couple of IHL tidbits:

1. Skill Bracket split status:
[ ] Happening
[X] Not happening

I have seen many arguments for both sides of the issue, and like I said the survey was split 50/50 on the issue. We don't have the player base to field all the teams and get them all to show up in two brackets. Part of the point of IHL was for all GAF people to play together rather than just the usual stacks playing together, because that would not be much different than everyday Dota.

2. Zero Tolerance Flame Policy

I have discussed with some people about this, and there was demand for it in the poll, and I will be implementing this. I will still need to hammer out the specifics of it, as I want to avoid false positives. My thoughts right now are to urge everyone to record audio or video at all times, and take screenshots. Not everyone's PC is capable for video, but I think at the very least audio and screenshots should suffice.

3. I had an interesting every in the "other comments" section that I don't think has been addressed in any IHL. They said this would be difficult to implement, but they would like to see some kind of audience interaction for those that can't/don't want to play. I need ideas on how to do this, but I think in theory it is a solid idea. I want to know how much interest there is in some kind of audience interaction. We can't really go nuts with a Compendium, but something small would be pretty cool.

Good god I'm not sure I want to know mine, especially including TI tickets, travel costs, secret shop, etc like Wax mentioned.

I can say for sure I have probably spent more on Dota than and other franchise.

when's the next big tournament?

It's mostly "non-traditional" LAN's

Post TI Lan Schedule:

1. Red Bull Heroicks, Rastatt, Germany Sept 17-18
t1474117200z1.png
Before the Pick & Ban phase of each game the Caster Team decides two heroes for the voting
You, the audience, live-votes one of those heroes as the special hero for the next match
Pick & Ban: The teams pick their heroes for the match – the special hero cannot be banned
If the winner team chose the special hero the team/player gets rewarded right away
?: [A], OG, VP, +2 teams

2. World Electronic Sports Games: China, Date ?
$1800k: +24 teams

3. Summit 6 Dec 7-11

?:?

No tolerance on flaming: teams lacking players and getting screwed by lack of selection in subs
Either we do this, or have a bunch of people unhappy with flames and BM.

I would think a Zero Tolerance Policy would encourage not flaming, moreso than a strike system.

It's simple, and I say this as someone that got a flame strike in the past: Don't flame.

Thing is, peoeple are going to flame. and in all likelyhood, they're going to go unreported both because people don't like snitching and people know they'll lose (probably) one of their better players.

Tbh I don't think there's a good solution for these issues within teams in the drafted teams format. Regardless of the method you choose, teams are going to get punished in terms of player sttrength if they end up with a flamer. That's just he nature of the format.

Would you say the tournament was cancelled because they didn't get Wings?

I don't think "well it's just going to happen" is a thing we should have to accept, and just assume there is nothing (further than past methods) that can be done about it.

Couple of IHL tidbits:
Sounds fair. To be honest I voted for the Skill Bracket split but only if we had enough players and I knew that was unlikely. I had no problem with how we did it in the previous 2 IHLs.

It's unfortunate that flaming is an issue. I guess I've been lucky to be part of two teams where that wasn't a problem. I'm sure we had some arguments but it never got bad, at least not to my face.

Not as bad as I thought it would be. I think ~$100 of that is from this year's TI.

Around the end of September. Will be announced soonish.

That was going to be so fun though.
Casters and twitchchat picking the champions.

That would have been amazing #redbull #twitchplaysdota

The powerful and physically attractive collective of non-players don't demand anything fancy.

We're just going to get our jollies in the spectator's lounge.

I plan to root for the team with the best logo, natch.

If there was a zero strike policy Hyliansleven would be the first one banned. Never have I seen even in pubs someone try to hate fuck their team into the ground because their team wanted to try and win a match ,but they had given up as hard as sleven did last season.

It's so crazy to me how everyone but the champs tend to just say "fuck it, this isn't working" when I'm pretty certain that if the TI bracket were run again, Wings would not be 1st. Not to say Wings doesn't deserve the win, but it just seems silly to me for teams to assume their current roster isn't working just because they didn't take first.

how do you figure. they were clearly the best team at the event and they dominated OG and Liquid a month before at the Summit when they were still looking really good too. the only games they lost is when they picked pudge

not sure what team at TI6 could have beaten them
