The majority of pretty much the entire community will get pretty shitty stuff out of these chests. There really isn't a lot of rares to go around.

The chests are prerolled in order to handle the limited items. If there's one in your chest its there from the get go.

Look, I understand the numbers aren't on my side. I understand that in terms of maximizing monetary gain, I should just sell the chests.

But I don't need the money as much as I need the hope man.

The hope that, despite having a shitty day, I can get a little lucky and get that sparkly mace for a hero I love playing without committing $50 for it. The hope that, despite it being totally out of my control, I can imagine that I've been blessed by Lord Gaben to receive a fiery belt for a hero whose anime I grew up watching.

It's not rational at all, I know. But humans aren't perfectly rational, despite what economics would have you assume.
