It's easier than you think, you might be out of range. Slark is pretty slow without his ult's passive. Just try to be closer next time and just face the enemy with your hero, like forcestaff.

I try to do that, just end up going past them like 60% of the time it feels like.

I know I'm trash and all, and I don't even play Slark that much, but I don't ever plan on my Pounces latching if the enemy is more than melee range away from me. On the rare occasions they do hit from that far out I just treat it as a lucky bonus.

Try to get shadow blade and/or sabre, or even venom orb will do. They will help you land pounces easier.

I still need to get Fates, but I will be getting Conquest.

I just bought Star Fox Zero the other day. Really underrated game IMO, but at the same time I can understand why people didn't like it. My tastes are weird and I like those kinds of "divided attention" games. The World Ends With You (the DS version) is one of my favorite games of all time.
