I'm wondering if they're going to
try and stop Black in the past or go to the future and stop him? I feel like the way they're setting this up, there should only be one Black.

Well Toriyama said:

"It’s the start of a battle that surpasses time and space, and drags in the God of Destruction, Kaiōshin, even the Omni-King! Many mysteries will be revealed!

There’s some confusing bits with time changing here and there, but just bear with me. It should definitely turn out to be a fun story!"

So there will possibly be multiple time travel trips involved. I wonder what kind of mysteries he is talking about.

So how long do we think the arc will be? until now, we got like 10-13 episode arc, right?

If we go by how Toei lists the arcs, BoG is 14, F is 13 and Champa is 19, (F includes all of the episodes between BoG and when the actual F arc starts proper and Champa includes all the episodes after the tournament until 47).

I'm hoping the actual arc proper is around 25 episodes or more, with another 5 episode interim between it and the next arc.

It depends.

Either they go for a short intense story.

Or they intend to expand the DB world a lot and this arc could go on for a while.

Hilariously enough if they went with 25 episodes it'd be the first time an arc ended on the last episode of a DVD/BluRay volume, it would end at episode 72 which is going to be the final episode of volume 6.

I just hope it's long enough to explain any weirdness that comes our way. I don't want them to rush through this at all if it means we get a fewer slower paced episodes to allow us to process what's going on

Random thought, but there is a kind of poetic beauty in how Krillin choosing to spare Vegeta ended up saving everyone down the line.

But the longer the arc will be the more complicated and weird it might get...see Android/Cell...and Buu arc....

I wonder if some of the screencaps from the preview are similar to how we saw Trunks talk about the androids

It will be interesting to see what variation they use for the name of "black goku" in the series

kuro no goku
kuro no son-goku
kuro no kakarotto
or
yami no goku
yami no son goku
yami no kakarotto

Mia's involvement is weirdly sweet and sad. Presumably her two friends must have died from the androids, or possibly from Black.

Yeah. Glad to see Mai back but it's likely Pilaf and Shu were not that lucky.

Weren't Master Roshi, Oolong and Puar hiding in a submarine in History of Trunks? There's a small chance that Pilaf and Shu could be alive... But the fact that Mai is not with them does suggest otherwise.

It's literally Goku Burakku.

EVERYBODY, HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS! Some info on other shows has started to leak out from Newtype magazine, soon we'll have episode titles and descriptions for the first couple episodes of the new arc.

It's Goku Black. Not Black Goku, Goku Kuro, nor any of those. GOKU BLACK is his name, literally.

Goku did use "Kuro" in the NEP title though. So we'll see.

Not the first time they change names.

Salada / Sadala

SSGSS / SSB

MMMH SHOULD WE READ THE TITLES OF NEXT EPISODES ?

I don't know ... I feel like it's the first time in years we have a new exciting plot (because FNF was pathetic plot wise).

I like the rumours because it feels like someone is really buying into the whole "Goku show" thing. So now not only does Goku have to get the kill each time, but now the main enemy is Goku, possibly fused with ANOTHER Goku!! Haha, saying it out loud sounds crazy.

It's Black Goku

They'll say Black Goku

It's literally Goku Burakku.

They said Goku kuro in the last episode preview.

How could Goku black possibly be stronger than Goku?

Maybe the potara earrings are involved somehow.
If it's Goku from the future he's had more time to get stronger. Also spent way more time in the afterlife possibly

If we bet it should be something simple. Like "it's literally Goku" or "it's not Goku, he just looks like him"

I wonder if black Goku can use the spirit bomb. Would be hilarious if Goku used it on him.

Or most likely it'll come down to a kamehameha wave battle.

evil spirit bomb, uses the hate in everyone's heart or something. We can finally have Goku being the guy who surprisingly survives being spirit bombed

the next episode is literally called:

SOS From the Future!
A Black New Enemy Appears!!

good luck with that one funimation

SOS From the Future!
A New Evil Appears!!

Or

SOS From the Future
A Dark New Enemy Appears!!

Or they'll just leave it as is since the character's name is Black.

A hugely powerful bad guy who mimicks a dead member of a defence team formed to defend Earth who is called Black.

I am getting Captain Scarlet nostalgia.

Goku is the descriptor for Black's current state.

Black is possibly a being who absorbs or clones someone's abilities somehow, and when in this "state" he refers to the names of the individual he is cloning at that time.

It's possible he has to acquire the person (like Buu) or their DNA (like Cell) but there may be more to their ability than normal (such as, acquiring all their future powers ahead of time or something like that). Since the upcoming arc is a timeline thing, it's possible that they erase them from the timeline entirely. So no coming back from death, etc. This last one is a hard one to imagine considering the usual effects on people being erased from timelines is that other people forget who they are (since they never existed in the first place).

Anyway, so when you see Goku Black, think of it akin to Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta. It's a descriptor telling you "Black is utilizing the power/appearance of Goku".
can't be quoted enough imo

preview trailer

since I am not sure if it was posted.

either way... I am gonna have to hope some fan fixes trunk's hair. it's all wrong :/

unless he is doing what gohan and goku did in the cell saga and just living daily life in super saiyan form just this time he is in SSGSS form like it is natural :/
