I'm most definitely leaning towards that new transformation of Goku's having some kind of demonic origins.
That would be pretty damn badass. Remember the image that stated something "terrible" happens? I wonder if the time limit runs out with two universes having the same number of fighters remaining, leading possibly to a different phase of the tournament. Could you imagine if there was a decision to eliminate all the remaining universes since there is no clear winner? Maybe that's what would trigger Goku?

I don't know, cause it feels like we have a 17 and a Gohan fanboy among the current directors of super and no ones complaining much about their input.
And people called Anime Goku an insensitive idiot when he laughed at a pregnant Bulma and lampshaded being dead for Goten's birth.
I still think it's mostly because Super Manga Goku doesn't like Gohan, "that little shit".
First Super were Vegeta' fanboys, then Goku's, then Future Trunks', now 17 and Gohan. All of Super writers are fanboys!
In fairness, they did kind of deserved it. There is a reason why "My Boy, Gohan" is a mocking line.
Because it's nice to have 17 and Gohan after many years of not having 17 in Dragonball, with the last time it happened being the biggest embarrassment that could happen to a character with GT, and Gohan fans have been straight up abused with the direction they took Gohan prior to this arc.
For as little focus as Roshi, Piccolo, Tien, Krillin, and 18 have had, they've never suffered what Gohan and 17 have suffered. They needed the focus more than anyone else.

If you're not a saiyan, namekian or android you ain't doing nada. The only reason roshi, krillin are in this is because of the tournament rules.

Why do you think Cell hates Krillin and Tien so much. He has Frieza's and Saiyan cells. It's science.
Want more proof. When Buu did his human extinction attack. Tien survived. The moment he got saiyan DNA in him, he hated Tien with a passion.

They could have written the tournament to only have 7 members per team if they wanted to. I'm glad they're including the humans as well. Krillin did pretty good for the little time he was in and Roshi's also cool so far.

In the anime right after Bulla was born, Goku made a similar comment about not being around when Goten was born and laughed about it. Gohan seemed to be perfectly ok with that comment.

To mak a small correction:
Goku told Vegeta that he wasn't around for Goten's birth when he was asking Vegeta to come and train with Whis.
When Bra was born, Goku made a statement about how Goten was once that small. Chi-Chi comments that Goku wouldn't know since he was dead. Goku acknowledge that he put his foot in his mouth and said he better shut up, everyone laughs like a sitcom.
i legit had to do a double take for this scene. she looks 14 with that hair and about 55 with her regular hair

She's kinda been the crazy old mom since the beginning of DBZ. I wish they'd move past it too, it was ok when selling the "I don't want Gohan to be a violent fighter like his father!" dynamic, but that's been done since Cell.
It's part of her characterization. Because Goku is a bum who doesn't even know about his childrens' birth, she has to raise the kids and ensure their future on her own. It's stressful, and doesn't really leave time or fucks for her to pretty up.

Yup, she got it bad now that I think about..alone for the most part or with her pops. Plus all she got nowadays is Goten but he's always at uncle vegeta's running around with trunks. Videl another character that got killed and relagated to a housewife.. like I understand you got kids now but even 18 still got her swag.
She was just an overprotective mom for the sake of gags early on with her easing up a bit after Goku died. I don't get why people try to add extra layers to it, like I remember someone saying Chichi is abused. It's probably Toei's fault lol.
She calmed down over the course of the series, but Toei likes to play it up again in filler and to a somewhat lesser extent in Super.
