This arc continues to absolutely disappoint save for like a few good episodes here and there.
So..that NEP:
Goku's using the Spirit Bomb in Blue x 20 Kaioken? I thought you couldn't use a Spirit Bomb in Super Saiyan form whatsoever (unless it's already been made in which case it ca be controlled like in the Buu Saga). Then again, the Spirit Bomb as a technique has always been weird since it's somehow able to quantify good and evil as if they're not abstract concepts but a tangible, measurable quantity for an individual to possess.
From the EoZ perspective it's shit.
From the perspective of something big in the now to get Goku to break his limits, I think it works.
The thing is, no one has said that being erased cannot be undone either.

The idea that he couldn't use the Genki Dama as a SSJ was only stated in the Android 13 movie, never in the manga or even the anime proper. Goku stated that he didn't need anger to turn into a SSJ anymore when he met Trunks, so the explanation from that movie (he can't use Genki Dama in SSJ because of its inherent anger which makes him not pure) doesn't really work.

Loved the second half of the episode! First was mostly fluff.

Gohan's display this episode was pretty pathetic
What's the point of having him in his ultimate form he doesn't even display a modicum of the strength that put him on par with Super Buu? He got worked by IT, but did he lose his reflexes? I'm not even a Gohan fanboy but his character in Super just depresses me.
He wasn't in ultimate against Jimmy and he was faking losing to Frieza.

He really needs to get the Fros treatment, gone for good... so useless and pathetic.

The premise revolves entirely around Frieza betraying Frost so why fight Gohan? If you need to trick someone, its assumed they have the same strength as you and thats why you have to trick them. Frieza can body Frost in base form ffs. And you cant even mention conserving stamina since he used Golden form against Gohan anyway.
The art was also atrocious for large parts of the episode.
For something that should've been a pivotal moment in the tournament, it was GT level executed.
Also lol @ people criticising Gohan. He was playing along the entire time. Everything that happened means nothing.

Freeza is on tricky bastard! Not sure how I feel about Gohan being used almost as test dummy for Freeza's plots though. It's like nothing at all changed from the Namek days

Gohan really needs to step up, he has done nothing so far and he was supposed to be the strategist....
I don't mind the Frieza stuff. It's his fighting against Jimeze that was the issue, and it was really pathetic. What was the point of getting worked by a low level opponent? Frieza didn't even need to power up to take him out, and yet Gohan is forced to? It's silly, and a pretty blatant way of padding the episode out. Which ordinarily I don't mind, but it has the effect of making Gohan out to be a bigger loser than usual.
