It was probably TV Asashi's decision, now I guess it's up to Fuji TV to decide if they want to keep Super and OP where they are or move them to a different time or even day with less competition.

To be fair, ratings probably aren't the end all be all. I won't say they don't matter, but selling merch is honestly probably more important.

The deal WAS for the Earth Dragon Balls. Frieza's conditions are now far bigger. I think Frieza will secretly modify that deal with Goku off screen while we are being shown Hit and Jiren.

I'm sure the simulcast did amazingly well and it's probably doing great in DVR ratings and digital streaming in Japan.
Just made a video going over the importance of new transformations in Dragon Ball. Had a lot of fun making it, and I've pretty much come to the conclusion that we'll be seeing a new form of Goku in every arc of Dragon Ball going forward:

Huh? Ratings are after, One Piece viewers wouldn't have known going into their special that half of it was recap, so that wouldn't have hurt the rating.

Starting from last week (coinciding with the One Piece special), Kamen Rider is airing at 9am (running against DB Super) and Super Sentai is airing at 9:30am (running against One Piece). Previously Rider and Sentai aired before both shows so they weren't competing directly for ratings.
That would be pretty awful actually.

That was obvious as of ROF. Originally though it was going to be every movie, to every year. Now to every arc.
It's the same target audience.
It's the number of people watching the shows, not the quality

One Piece's special ended up doing amazingly well in DVR ratings, Super's probably did too. I doubt many people are going to just stop watching Super and OP because of Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, they'll just watch them later via DVR or a streaming service.

What was on Tv Asahi at those times before? And did Sentai do any better in the ratings I know the point of the move is that it's been in the dumpster for years.
Originally I thought the move would just kill sentai and Rider off forever but it looks like all 4 shows are affected, great.

Toei doesn't pick their timeslots, the TV stations do. TV Asashi probably wanted to take viewers from Fuji TV with the move.
I don't see Sentai or Kamen Rider on the top 10 for it's genre, so both shows probably hurt eachother.
Probably expected his best buddy to tag in while he powers up.

They were forced to, yeah. Their old timeslot alongside some even earlier ones were taken by a news program with a presenter Tv Asahi wanted to push.

So what's the real chance of Fuji TV moving One Piece and Super to another time? It was my understanding that they're currently in pretty coveted timeslots.
