I think I am stuck in Chapter 4. At the very least I think I'm going to have to reload an old save.

Ch4 spoilers:
I found Barbella, she followed me for a bit, but then she dropped off somewhere along the path and didn't make it back to town. When I go back to get her again, she's gone. Even after asking the guy in town to drop a Q mark on the map again, I get to the destination and there's no one there. Ugh.

If she got knocked out and you warped back, she should be still lying where she got knocked out.

Take the red portal. Head NE until you start seeing a sandy area. There are at least 3 caves in the face of the mountain if you start looking around and walking around it. One entrance will be above ice, one is above sand and another opening is above the normal dirt that you walk on to get to that NE desert. When you see blue speckled bricks you can set a bomb on them to mine it.

Replace your bath house with the spa since it already has water there. If you don't want to do that, break the panels on the floor of the bath house to have the water irrigate to another area you want to build the actual spa on.

Yeah this is what I should have done. I wanted to put the Spa where the bathhouse was but I couldn't place the blueprint. I.neded up with the genius idea of filling the holes in before setting the print down. I ended up building the Spa but lost my wwter source...

My solution after looking for ages for was to build a trench from the sea all the way over to my Base in order to get more water. I pretty much destroyed everything in that corner of my Base and then rebuilt it. Well I guess it gave me an excuse to replace the Stone Walls with Obsidian.

Anyone know how to get a Water Crystal or to how to put water in my base? I made the Spa blueprint and was gonna put water in but couldn't think of a way. I assumed water would be part of it all and I build over the existing one in the corner of the base
Are you in free build mode or one of the chapters? If you are in Chapter 3, there should be a Hot Water Crystal in your base from the start, which can be placed in water-level ground to create a pool of water. It is an orange block with a diamond pattern on the side. The space has to be one or two blocks above the bedrock in order to be filled with water. If you already have a Hot Water Crystal in place, you've built the Spa too high up.

If you are in free-build mode, you can make Water Crystals or Hot Water Crystals if you have unlocked them by completing the associated challenges. I also found some Hot Water Crystals out in the wild.

A Hot Water Crystal is a required element of the Spa blueprint, and is capable of generating water on its own, so you shouldn't need to get water from a different source.

she should show up on your compass as something a bit different. a white face.

Oh so that's what I did wrong. I must have built the blueprint one floor to high. I'm in Chapter 3 and I just built a mini river from the coast to my Base lol

Man, that was a few weekends of addicted long play sessions. Got all chapter achievements (except the speedruns because life is short and we are all going to die), and built most of a massive castle in Terra Incognita. I'm slightly played out now, but man, that was fun.

Where do you find clay in Rimuldar?
I actually had more trouble finding basic earth than clay in Rimuldar. Almost all of the hills topped with green grass on the main island have a couple layers of earth on top, while most of the rest is clay and peat. So if you dig into just about any hill in Rimuldar, you will find clay.

How about orange slimes? I broke my adventurer armor and am dressed in rags.

Has anyone found a good source of fortress wall blocks in free build mode? I have plenty of the foundation blocks from the chapter 3 island.

I think they are just past the blue teleportal, but I am not 100% sure. You can get an armor upgrade past the blue teleportal at the very least. If you are not that far, you might be out of luck.

Beat the game and got the platinum last night. Might go back and keep playing and exploring. I think I got my favorite accessory in chapter 4. End of chapter 4 was a little tougher than I thought it was going to be. Felt a bit more intense than and higher difficulty than previous fights....maybe that was because chapter 3 was such a breeze for its boss.

I'm only in the middle of chapter 3, but decided to do the speed run on chapter 1 last night for the hell of it.

Did the whole thing in 10 days. Could have been 9 days, but I made some rookie mistakes while farming ore and wood that cost me a little time. My first run of chapter 2 was done in 32 days, so I think I can get the speed run for that one easily.

Hi all,

So, in Terra Incognita, where can I find the Zenithium? Trying to make the crafting station that makes holy water...

Its all over the chapter 3 zone. There is a hallow ice mountain behind the giant ice hand that is filled with all the rare ores you'll need.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
Combat in this game fucking sucks. Awful.

Fun building stuff but the forced wave after wave combat is terrible. Boring and annoying.

Another game on the pile I probably wont finish.

I'm in Chapter 2 and seemed to have 'farmed' all the mushrooms for food and now I need it for different medicines....but can't find any =_=

Any help?

Yeah, its rough. A dodge roll or similar mechanic would have been really helpful. As well as monsters not be able to "step" into your body and damage you. Collision damage really sucked. There could have been been so much more to this game with better combat but its still pretty fun without it.

You've exhausted all of them? Hm, not sure. Food doesn't seem to grow back and you need a special set up to farm them. Without restarting the chapter, I'd say maybe look up if a monster drops them.

Just got this the other day and it's great.

Anyway I have a question. I've noticed that each of the areas (at least in Ch1) has a dragon somewhere. Are these optional fights? I feel like I'm getting close to the end of this chapter and nothing has come up about them.

Is this game worth it? I was holding off until a B2G3 sale, and now that Target is doing one this week, I'm getting cold feet. Is this game for players who love Minecraft such as myself?

Alright, finished Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel and Rhythm Paradise Megamix so now it's time to start chapter 2 :p

It's like Minecraft if it was a single player RPG campaign. Note that the game is broken up into chapters so after you beat each section you start over from scratch, so don't be building stuff and getting attached.
There is a free build mode though.

Yep, optional. Killing the three of them unlocks a recipe in Free mode (mode unlocked after beating chapter 1).

It's an RPG with Minecraft playstyle. Mind you it's not exactly Minecraft, you build a city (in a fixed area) and NPCs goes to live there, they give you quest and you defend them from monsters.

I hear there's 4 chapters. Assuming that you don't beat the game, can you ignore the quest and focus on the building? And how does the building aspect compare to Minecraft?

The whole point of the game is that it's a Minecraft clone with a narrative, so the free building is secondary to the story mode. You unlock free building when you beat Chapter 1, and a lot of free building recipes and materials are locked behind (fairly easy) story mode challenges. The only challenges you may need to replay chapters for are the speedruns, but those are super easy to hit in 50-60% of the required timeframe if you don't waste days sleeping.

Okay, but can't you complete 99% of the game so that you have 100% of the building materials?

I don't know what you're asking. Some challenges unlock non-building items like weapons or clothing. Others unlock QOL stuff for building in free mode, like unbreakable gear or things that eliminate the food requirement.

So it's possible to get all of the building materials without completing the game 100%, but I'm not sure precisely which things you can skip, and you might get them incidentally.

Yes, they are optional fights. Each chapter has a few optional challenges like that, though they vary in nature.

Having so much trouble in chapter 3.

Can't beat the fight where the wizards and giant troll show up. The cannons get smashed to bits before doing hardly any damage to them. :/
For a lot of the fights in Chapter 3, it is best to keep on the move. Have at least one free cannon that you can move around as you need. Let your allies tank for you, then blast the big enemies with the cannon while they are occupied.

Also, swipe the barricades from the enemy fortress. Steel barricades are all but invincible. Just don't shoot them with your own cannons.

I might be wrong but this fight is right before you get the recipe for cannons.

I thought it was pretty rough as well. I didn't want to grind for heal items so I just kept going with nothing. Beat it on my 2nd try.

I recommend having the best gear you can for the time and climbing up the mountains around the boss. I was able to get the mages to disengage so I could fight the ogre one on one. He's not hard on his own. He has a lot of lag after every strike he dishes out.

Thanks I'll try that.

I tried digging a pit in the area they spawn in so I could get cheap shots at them with my cannons but the game will spawn them to the sides of it instead, like it knows.

Also: all my guys die well before the troll shows up. I guess I need to just build flank cannons and go get the steel to fortify with.

Have you tried building rooms that will help out your citizens like giving them more hp?

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if rooms have a stacking effect when it changes stats.

Whoa wait, what??? You can build rooms that boost stats of citizens?? This is completely new to me.

All I have is a forge, the spa, a bbq kitchen, an inn, and a room with the original construction table in it.

If you look at it in the room recipes it will tell you the effects. And it also tells you near one of the top corners when you step into the room. A bedroom will boost citizen HP. Fancier bedrooms boost the HP even higher. Most if not all rooms have an effect. Like how a kitchen will cause your citizens to cook for you and place it in the chest. Build a basic bedroom with 2 beds and it should give a stat boost to your citizens

I'm on Chapter 3 as well and the base battles are absolute horseshit. I almost ragequit on the first one. You can only make crappy equipment at that time and they throw some powerful enemies at you. I'm not quite where you're at but I'll be there soon. Not a good idea to make the combat suddenly cheap when the combat system is so awful.

On another note, the Chapter 2 boss was easy, but so ridiculously tedious. They really need to step up the combat for a likely sequel or I'm out. I'm barely tolerating it at this point.

If it makes you two feel better, the boss battle for chapter 3 is the least frustrating boss and quite possibly the fastest

I had no problems with Chapter 3 once I made proper equipment, so it's weird to see people struggling so hard with that one area. Most of the enemies are super easy to avoid attacks of. Chapter 4's start was harder for me because I didn't realize
I had to really hunker down and craft up real gear.

I didn't mind the combat although the sequel would definitely need to improve upon it - like switch between "build" and "combat" stances, implementing shield blocks, more techniques, and fixing the bug that makes it so your hits don't register if the enemy is already taking too many hits per second from townspeople.

Also implementing other series weapon types like boomerangs, whips, and spears would be cool.

Wow thanks! I'll give that a look.

Although the only building recipe I have so far is the cannons with the pressure plate switch...

No problem.

Each time you make a room in a chapter it is saved to your profile. You can open it in the menus and see what you have already made. Not all of them can be created on each chapter but it should help you out at times. At the very least, you can always build a bedroom.

The bath you make in chapter 3 should also give your team stronger weapons. I think chapter 3 also has fancy beds and making rooms out of them should help your teams HP
