The Japanese outlet Famitsu has recently posted a news update on the number of video game hardware and software sold in the country.

The most significant of these reveals is that the latest entry in the Dragon Quest franchise, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, has sold over 510,447 physical units in Japan alone. Additionally, this data was compiled for the time between November 27, 2023, and December 31, 2023. During this period, The Dark Prince was the most-sold title in Japan, surpassing Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

Previously, the game was confirmed to have sold well over 300,000 units in just Japan during its debut. There’s no official word on how it has performed in the West.

We should get 3 weeks' worth of numbers today, so there will be lots to go through.

Given it's placement on the digital charts, it should be at least 750,000 in total.

Should become a million seller, which bodes well for DQ12 and DQ3 remake.
