Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

Could anyone help me with one thing?

My pawns will heal mid fight but after the fight is over they will remain hurt/won't heal themselves. They have healing items.

Sometimes they go as low as 50% for their health and nothing.

Is there a way to make pawns heal themselves outside of battle?

whats with all the jester hats on the pawns? is it a good item?

I never choose any of them because, well, it looks like shit :/

I swear I won't hire any pawns with jester hat on it, no matter how good the pawn is.

I need some help with ENB , i downloaded a preset someone posted pages ago, but my game looks like this

Which link?
Use the one from nexus mod. You have to download the base enb first from the main site, and extract the d3d9.dll from it.

No, unless it's white health and you have a mage.

Yes, pawns will learn based on your behavior, but they also go by a "threat level";
So a pawn won't use an all party heal item unless the entire party is at low health at the same time and they've noticed you using them.
However serious things like "petrification cure", will be used instantly it they have one.

They'll even used special arrows but only if the threat is high enough.

I've published a mod that

Removes carry weight limit
Makes sprinting consume stamina at 1/2 rate of normal
Makes sprinting consume no stamina

and basically the pertinent combinations of the above.

You can download that here.

If you simply want the sprinting stamina modifications, you can get those from this users mod.
I tried this. It works but the pawns broke. They remain still no matter where I go. Reverted back to the original file and it got fixed.

So, Pawn Renting is really bugged? I hired and sent some gifts to the pawns of the people i added on the Steam Group, but havent got a single message that my pawn was used.
Wait, really? That might explain why I never got a single message (I know my pawn is ugly but hey!)

Anyone playing with the Steam Controller? Impressions, pls!

It's amazing, it's so much better than your average dual analog setup. It feels so good to have the mouse on right pad, along with 4 hotkeys right there.

This fixed the low sound issue for me:

Control Panel, Hardware & Sound, Manage Audio Devices, Select Speakers, Properties, Enhancements Tab, Enable "Loudness Equalization".

Might not be available for all hardware configs.

Last time I played this was on par when it first released and the frame rate killed me, I couldn't get over it. Loaded this up on pc today, 144Hz gsync and the optimization they pulled off is incredible.

I feel like if people got to play this on ps4 and Xbox one a new dragons dogma would be a guarantee.

Pawns are still getting knowledge of enemies and quests, don't know about experience. Everything else is borked though, haven't seen any dev acknowledge the issue unfortunately.

welp just got destroyed for the first time, a pack of invisible sauren (or whatever those lizard guys are called) in a river as I was trying to hand in this stupid escort I picked up in gran soren (just so the guy doesnt follow me around)

guess Ill let him follow me around then lol

edit: nvm he died somewhere else. whelp, thats a failed quest >_> escorts dont respawn right? meh its just a board quest, I need to stop being OCD

For you.

Oh yeah, that gank squad sucks lol. A mage with fire skills help a lot against them. Alternatively, cross the river a little more to the right and you won't aggro them.

Okay I tinkered around with a Steam Controller profile for my Strider. It uses a touch menu on the left pad for item quickslots and pawn orders (also put in a quick skill attack to test it) Feel free to change the touch menu to your liking... I don't even know what to put on my 5 key at the moment. Mouse aiming because no matter what Mouse Joystick and even Mouse Camera are too slow. Straight up mouse for quick camera control. The control buttons switch around as you more the camera (really wish games would do a hard lock to either M&KB or controller in the settings menu) but you can turn them off if it bothers you. Just remember what your skills are. The buttons stay in menus and you may cause them to switch there but I don't mind it so much.

The thing that some people may not like and what you may want to change is that I have my triggers and bumpers switched but have modified the triggers to allow me to shoot the bow like an FPS with gryo control added with the bow out. Because of this I had to add dagger skills (RB) to the left grip. Melee and mage classes may want to change the triggers and bumpers completely.

Touch menu with badly clashing colors:

I spent so much time and I'm still not happy with everything. I might even go back to M&KB!

Oh great modders! Answer my call please :p I wish to remove the vignetting effect and avoid usage of ENB.

Pretty please.

now I'm stuck at night with an escort mission with enemies far above my weight and with a mage that cannot heal...

Also, it's me or this game does that annoying thing where both beasts and human opponents do no attack each other but only you?

it really sucks you out of any kind of immersion when a chimera has a succulent bandit in front of him and decides to attack you that are kilometers away

Just went in blindly and man Iam quite enjoying myself. I like that there is alot of hidden stuff and the world feels handmade rather than being randomly generated.
However, Iam still feeling abit lost. There is so much stuff to collect and I dont know whats useful and worth saving.
Is there any helpful starter guide?

Out of curiosity how many mages do people tend to have in their party? I tend to have two (healing mage and attack sorcerer) so that's what I did with my pawn and made my Triss pawn solely focus on buffing and attack spells.

Speaking of, what's recommended I do if I want to make her use buffing spells more often? And should I have multiple buffing spells or just focus on one because the AI is dumb?

Dont know what to think of this. The combat is fun but i am level 11 and in the first big city.

NO IDEA what to do. Quest log is full quests but i have no idea where to go. Some are from the beginning but that would mean i would have to walk(?) back like 10 minutes...

What am i doing wrong here? How to "follow" the main quest line?
If you want to advance the main story, visit the pawn guild. (Craftsman's quarter in the slums, near the field).

The game has a slightly weird structure for an RPG of its kind. Generally speaking, there are "phases" to the main story of the game - turning in a certain amount of main quests advances the world state, which automatically fails many sidequests (not those "kill X" from notice boards) from the previous phase.

If you're the completionist type that doesn't want to miss anything, there's merit to reading up on the structure and the advancement points for the various phases on the wikia.

I went to make a new character and the female model only has a top on. No pants. Can see her bare arse and a completely smooth crotch.
Maybe the Dualshock icons I installed also had some nude mod in with it.

I always run a minimum of two mage's but that's because I go super melee focused and want one dedicated to buffs. The only time I changed from that was when I swapped over to Mystic Knight, since they have self-buffs and what not.

As for making pawns use buffing spells, I believe left on the d-pad (or equivalent) will ask your pawn for a buff and effect the inclination as such.

My bad lol, so can MA learn some Mage's skills or all of them?

I think you might have to play as a mage to unlock them all, but yes since MA can use the staff (and MK too), they can use all the spells associated with staffs; sorcerors use archistaffs so they have an entirely different spellset on top of the staff set.

edit:
ACtually I just remembered sorcerors can't use anodyne, which is mage only, which would mean MA and MK can't use that either. I guess there are other spells that are exclusive to mage then.

I found the solution. There's actually a bug in the ArcTool I was using when repacking. I'm using a different version now and it works. I'm uploading the fixed versions now.

It's not just that, it's actually very much part of the story ;].

Typo, my bad lol. I meant the Parry ability. I kept getting rekt early on thinking I still had it lol.

Do mystic knights get a parry?

In the past (Dark Souls II) when using ENB, GeDoSaTo's post processing wouldn't get applied.

You might be able to use ReShade for Deband + ENB, but I haven't tested that.

ReShade affects the HUD, and I'm not sure if I want that. That + ENB's load times means I'll wait and stick with my GeDoSaTo settings. 4K makes it look nice enough :D

I was thinking I was going to assemble an air juggle combo in the vein of Devil May Cry.

I purchased the Warrior ability that allows you to throw enemies in the air, then Skyaward Slashes which attacks airborne enemies.

Complete disaster. For one thing, there is a delay so you can't combo in effectively, but also the juggle sends enemies up and forward, which causes the slashes to miss anyways.

One tends to work just fine for me. I ty to find one with The basic version of Anodyne (high takes too long to cast), A fire enchantment (all round most useful so far), and a set of high level damage spells.

My main own is a fighter with tanking and a few charge abilities.

I'm currently a Ranger (moving to Addison then MA when leveled).

Last I usually take a warrior.

The single heal skill is enough. My MP tends to bunch up foes and charge them all at once for the rest of us to pick off. Often finish group battles with very little damage taken.

(Currently level 36).

The best combo I've found is to toss them and blink strike (Fighter).

Tried the skyward one myself. Maybe if you could coordinate it with your MP...

ReShade does affect the UI, but if you're only using reshade for Deband then it shouldn't really cause any issues with the UI.

Yeah I want to make her as useful as possible but I thought people would get the hint that she's made solely for battle since I made her a sorcerer instead of keeping her a mage. And with the limited amount of spells it's hard to choose what to have her keep.

I'm thinking of making her switch out the second buff for another spell (possibly basic healing) since having a pawn with multiple buffs never worked well before the AI is too dumb most of the time to choose the right buff. Once I start meeting enemies that are damaged by holy I'll switch to that.

So to the guy having issues with her next time you go to the pawn selection screen she should have basic healing and only one buff now.

You aren't doing anything wrong, you just need a detox from modern mainstream progression 'design', it has left you... A bit atrophied.

What was the last main thing you did? Who did you meet upon entering the city? What did they say?

This next step will open up fast travel.

The castle is the path to the left of the town center (where the inn is at).

The pawn guild is the path to the right, down the hill. Go there.
