Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

I'm definitely part of the female mage pawn problem. I'm an assassin and want the support pawn. Then again if I'm rocking so many support pawns from friends then maybe I'm best off rolling her as something else. We can switch pawn classes too right?

Yes you can, you can switch them as much as you want. Once you get to Gran Soren though(big ass castle kingdom). But there's some classes that exclusive to the Arisen, like the assasin, magik archer and mystic knight. Those three classes are classes that are hybrids of two other classes into one. And pawns cant use those.

You gotta pay to unlock the vocation at first, but after that, you can switch vocations/classes as much as you want. Although your gonna need different gear and weapons though as each class has specific weapons and gear they can and cant use.

I hope a mod comes out that makes class preset so when I switch to a class, I aint gotta dig through my inventory trying to find all the weapons and gear for that class, it'll just automatically equip the preset it if its in my inventory with the press of a hotkey.

It looks like we really need an easy way to combine changes to the "game_main.arc" file. A lot of information and changes to the game seem to go throught this file.

At the moment, the PS3 button, the less or no stamina while running and the remove Arisen Scar mod all want to change that file and therefore overwrite each other.
This will hopefully not get as annoying as the "Coalesced.bin" file for Mass Effect etc.

Probably all the stuff related to difficulty and Enemy placement etc would also require some changes to this file (I'm just guessing here)

My pawn is so pretty. Pale skin, red hair, pointy ears, great body. She is so cute... And so boring. I kind of regret not giving her a more distinct look. Can i edit her appearance later?

Step 1:
Open The Game Folder(C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Local\CAPCOM\DRAGONS DOGMA DARK ARISEN)

Step 2:
Open the config.ini

Step 3:
Make this Change - 'set Stereo = ON'

Step 4:
Save and Start the Game.
I think this helped a bit.

If it's working like coalesced.bin in bioware games, I believe there'll be the compiler as well for DD.

Looking at the Steam forums, apparently pawns are bugged. I haven't received messages or rift crystals at all about my pawn being used, and apparently I'm not the only one. Anyone successfully getting messages and rewards from their pawns being used?

I hope they patch this audio shit, because it's completely ruining the game for me. Not talking about the volume issue either. Every few steps in a dungeon area or town where my character hits a hard surface (doesn't happen in most outdoor areas), the footstep noise ends up doing a loud crackling or popping sound.

Just found Quina in the Witchwood. Night slowly set in while I was approaching the forest and once I was in, all was pitchblack; super moody wandering around with the lantern and getting sp00ked. Wish I'd found the other two fog ornaments(?), when I think about it, I prefer my map unconvered after all :p

It is trivial to write a file injector for the arc format, so I wouldn't worry about somebody coming up with one sooner or later.

I've given out about 10 messages and gifts, but I haven't received any.
I thought that was because I had a strider pawn (everyone probably prefers mage or fighter).

I'm sure I'm not the first to bring it up but anyone else having issues, and solutions, to the enchantment glow? As a Strider it makes aiming my bow and seeing my opponent near impossible, even just using daggers can be annoying. The glow is so bright and big that it completely obscures everything nearly two feet around my character.

Hey can I use Wickfut's ENB for the effects and then GeDoSaTo on top of it for the deband + downsampling? Or will they conflict?

Set your HDR to low. Low is the default setting, high is the "colorful" setting.

Is it occuring for everyone, or just for certain audio setup?

Turn HDR to low.

Yeah, I noticed this too. Messing with HDR or the FOV might help.

turn HDR to low, it's the intended preset

I've only seen one other person in this thread comment about it. I've played maybe fourty games on this system, and none of them have ever had any audio issues until now. Many people are saying that the volume is way too low though.

maybe it's because i have the fever and i'm not sharp enough

but where the fuck is Valmiro?

and why everyone is calling me cousin? is Cassardis IncestVille?

This game is the business.
I need that party from the opening sequence though. I love games that show you what you can do before you start out on your quest.

It's not just that, it's actually very much part of the story ;].

can I see somewhere how often my pawn has been used by other players? some kind of history?

Yes you can, in the menu section aptly labled "History".

Can you make Pawns use the healing items you give them?

Yes, pawns will learn based on your behavior, but they also go by a "threat level";
So a pawn won't use an all party heal item unless the entire party is at low health at the same time and they've noticed you using them.
However serious things like "petrification cure", will be used instantly it they have one.

They'll even used special arrows but only if the threat is high enough.

So I forgot that quests are time sensitive

I forgot to go to the witchwood in search of Quina.

Is this a problem?

Well, a problem in the sense is that quest line locked out? Yes it is.
Not a problem in the sense that you can just do it on a next playthrough.

The only 'issue' for me is that the voice is a bit too low compared to other sounds. Simple fix is turning sound effects down while maintaining voice at 100%.

whats with all the jester hats on the pawns? is it a good item?

I never choose any of them because, well, it looks like shit :/

I've published a mod that

Removes carry weight limit
Makes sprinting consume stamina at 1/2 rate of normal
Makes sprinting consume no stamina

and basically the pertinent combinations of the above.

You can download that here.

If you simply want the sprinting stamina modifications, you can get those from this users mod.

That debanding shader is a godsend. Thanks Alo81.

Glad to see it helping others.

I just checked all of my screens and they still have the HUD attached as well, that's what I get for assuming.

For the life of me..togglehud or take hudless doesn't work for me even though it does take the picture. (GeDoSaTo)

It doesn't work during the tutorial section but I haven't had any problems with it once you get into the main overworld.

If you're still seeing problems after the tutorial let me know and I can take a look.

In the past (Dark Souls II) when using ENB, GeDoSaTo's post processing wouldn't get applied.

You might be able to use ReShade for Deband + ENB, but I haven't tested that.

It isn't that far ahead that a restart is a big deal, especially since you can restart with all your items and levels.

I say this because I did the same thing

I am also guilty of this just restarted.

Just started playing the game for the first time. Went down the well in the first town and died about 10 times fighting those crocodile dudes. Finally beat them by spamming RB+X!

No Carry Weight and No Sprint Drain ZIP is broken, it downloads a corrupt 0kb zip file. The other ones download fine.

Might wanna try redownloading that. I just hit download from their site and it downloaded fine. Must have been some bug on their end with the virus scanning.

I'm super surprised you can create an actual kid character. Neverending story-ing this thing I think :)

Level 35ish and just finished two of Maxy's quests after the Everfall introduction thing. Dunno if the hard mode exp/money/whatever is skewing my characters past what they should be, but that doesn't really matter to me.

The setting reminds me a lot of Guild Wars 2, dargons and big castley towns and everyone has a history of fighting some random deathmammal. Luckily it's not nearly as aimless or boring to play as GW2. The combat is kind of weird, since you can't lock on to enemies, but you still automatically shimmy towards things while you're attacking. It makes it awkward to melee things without getting hit, since every enemy instantly murders you on whydidIpickthis mode.

I miss the infinite sprinting and crazy jumping and lack of fall damage from X :(. At least the quests feel slightly more engaging than X's did, even if they're mostly the same types of objectives. Maybe it's because everyone is voiced(by the same four vaguely "European"-sounding people) instead of just plain text.

Also, I don't like the randomized wooden chests that refill for no reason.

Dont know what to think of this. The combat is fun but i am level 11 and in the first big city.

NO IDEA what to do. Quest log is full quests but i have no idea where to go. Some are from the beginning but that would mean i would have to walk(?) back like 10 minutes...

What am i doing wrong here? How to "follow" the main quest line?
