Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

Okay, I still can't seem to figure out why I am getting low FPS in this game. I've tried reinstalling it, lowering my resolution to 720p and still can't get a solid 60FPS. I think I might try Display Driver Uninstaller next, but given that all the other games that I have are working fine I just don't see what the issue could be.

Here are my specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7 860
GPU: nVidia GTX 970
RAM: 16Gb DDR 3
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo

Yeah, there's absolutely no reason why you should have to lower your resolution to 720P with those specs. The CPU is old though, maybe try turning down draw distance and see what happens?

But isn't the witchwood through the bandits? This is kind of a really unwelcoming start to the game :(

Yup, you gotta pass the bandits. Its best to fire at them from range and let them come to you, little by little if your too low of level.

Is sorcerer supposed to be so weak at first? I feel like I barely do any damage to enemies and the game got much harder.

The first few sorcerer spells suck. Your going to be mostly using mage spells, so its best to max out mage before going sorcerer because your not gonna have good sorcerer spells right off the back...................but the spells you get later on as a sorcerer.........................GAME CHANGERS!!

They MORE than make up for the lack luster sorcerer spells early on.

These spells take a REALLY long time to cast, we're talking like 10-20 seconds. And in combat thats a VERY long time, but once you cast them...........its pretty much game over for everything but boss level enemies.

A single high level sorcerer spell can decimate the entire battlefield.

But that makes enemy sorcerers just as threatening. You see an enemy sorcerer, you make that your top priority to take em out ASAP or your whole team is fucked if they get a cast off.

YOu can speed up and power up spells by casting in a group with other sorceror pawns that have the same spells.

Dude, I'm level 13 and bandits on the way to the woods are killing me.

damn really??? I fought them around level ten. The key for beating them for me was stuns, knock downs and and animation cancelling techniques.

In the gifs I posted below, you can see examples of what im talking about. Basically attacks just to stop them fools from attacking me with attacks of my own to cancelling out theirs.

I never, EVER, EEEVVVEEERRRR use Sorcerer Pawns.

They almost never cast a spell. They move to damn much, never staying still long enough to finish the cast and they love casting them next to enemies, thus getting hit and having the spelled cancelled. High level sorcerer spells are simply too damn long for them to cast them.

Waste of a party spot.

I use mages pawns with low level, fast casting spells.

Lol you don't even know...
Yes there is a chimera hidden in all the spells in that second pic.
Also they don't stop casting when sync casting has been initiated.

Those having issues with downsampling, DSR, or running DDDA on their 4K TV might want to consider an EDID override for the display in question.

I used CRU 1.2.6 (Custom Resolution Utility) to override the EDID of both my Marantz SR7010, and Sony x940c, with a generic "4K display" EDID, and voilà --
everything is working as it should now. :)

Would anyone be able to answer whether it's common for games to look at extended display identification data in addition to querying the operating system for
available resolutions? I'm wondering why this is happening with DDDA and not other games. Thanks!

mages can buff/debuff an enemy which can be very useful for a melee character like MK or Fighter

Sorcerer probably get their ass eaten in BBI in a small corridor trying to cast their shit

Man I wish, in my experience on the 360 version with using sorcerers, that wasn't the case.
I'll give it another shot on this playthrough, but I aint holding my breath.

Make sure the sorcerers you use have Challenger as the primary inclination, without it Sorcerer pawns are shitty. With Challenger and especially when you or other pawn members spell sync things it works out well most of the time.

I use Primary: Challenger, Secondary: Utilitarian, Tertiary: Mitigator.

If your main pawn isn't that, (some swap Challenger and Utilitarian around), buy inclination elixirs from the guy at The Encampment behind the inn master, they cost 250 RC each and you can dupe them at Black Cat or buy them again with RC.

2 things.

1. Can I fast travel?
2. Any way to "gather" everything at once instead of pressing gather 3 times on a plant? Maybe a mod or something

Is there any quick way to access the mpas besides hitting Esc and clicking map? I'm enjoying the game but the UI is very controller centric and not user friendly at all.

That's exactly what happens, lol. But a good tank can take care of that problem.

But when fighting certain enemies like the elder ogre in BBI, when his health is low, all that tanking, and aggro shit goes right out the window.

I am confused now. lol
I think it depends on the computer? Any post-processing added will create some amount of overhead for the game. That said, if your game is already getting 120FPS, then a debanding mod won't have a significant effect on performance due to the fact that you won't notice a performance change since the game (for most players) is locked at 60FPS or lower. If you are already having performance issues, adding a debanding mod will increase them.

1) Yes.
2) Not that I'm aware of.

1. Yes when you get to the main city and check the inn to get pick up the eternal Ferrystone.

2. Dunno if there's a mod, but otherwise, no. Embrace the monster-huntiness of gathering.

1. When you get to GS, in the inn storage you'll find an Eternal Ferrystone. You can use it to jump to Port Crystals. There's one on the first village and one at GS that can't be moved, and various ones scattered throughout game you can take with you and place where you need.

Try to always keep one with you so you can jump to town and back if need be.

2. Not that I'm aware of.

After investigating underneath the big town, I'm supposed to just do all the quests from that baron or whoever outside the castle right? I don't see any other non-bulletin quests to do

Oh gods, having flashback of that one room in BBI with the two
chained gorecyclops and that army of sorcerers
. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, reloaded that shit so often.

Yup. The tentacles respawn infinitely. For once the pawn chatter should be turned on (for new players), they tell you to GTFO IIRC.

Behold, my off-brand Conan. Hair looks more red than I thought it would.
Hehe nice. You can change the hair colour in Gran Soren for a small gold fee if you don't like it, btw.

You need to do 2 out of the list, IIRC. Of course you can also do them all (and you should) but IIRC you need to clear 2 of them to advance the story.

It's probably important to mention that there is a real purpose in having weight in this game and there are abilities (Fighter Vocation) particularly made to address it. Yeah, it's maybe not always the best, but part of that is to help teach you that a) there's a good number of things you don't need to pick up and b) inventory management is a non-trivial thing.

Agreed. I think people that are installing the no-inventory-limit mod are making a big mistake. It can really break the game to be able to carry so many curatives, for example.

So has anyone here managed to convert a PS3 save file? Mostly seems to be 360 saves that have been successful. Just not sure where I'm going wrong.

Yup. Got this and Pro evo on rotation

Edit: And the Mass Effect trilogy

Delivered the Hydra head after managing the well thing. Guys, apart from some weird difficulty spikes and the issues I have with my kid character, this game is the first open world game for a long time that's actually fun, even if I don't understand half of it yet.
Also I love the art style a bunch.

Made it to Grand Soren, was leveled up enough to respec to Mystic Knight and Ranger.

Love the new outfits we got, sold the Monocle for major dosh, and I am in love with the Sky Strike move. So cool.

I've got an Ice Parry now too, so I'm thinking combat will be much more enjoyable.

I wish my resolution would stick. I switch to 4k each time I load the game and next time I restart the game it switches down a level. 2198xsomething.

That said it's a small inconvenience. Maybe they'll patch it.
