Would it be wise to change class once you maxed it out or going from fighter to ranger screws up the stats too much? (talking about my pawn).
Depends on what you want to make, but in general you can't really "screw up" a character. Maybe to put it another way: weapons and gear are what make a character strong. Stats matter relatively little when compared to gear.

But, for full disclosure - if you want a tank pawn, level them up as a fighter. If you want a pawn with lots of stamina (ability to attack a lot before stopping), try Ranger.

In truth, level the pawn in a way that you find enjoyable. The game doesn't punish you in any way for jumping between classes.

Don't worry about your stats so much, augments and equipment are what really matters. Really just do what you want first time around unless you're really crazy about min/maxing in which case you want to go from fighter and then straight to assassin for pure max strength build.

On my second play through on Xbox 360 using a new gamer tag (due to the restriction of just one save) I went to BBI from level 3 and stayed in there until I had fully cleared it.

It was a thrilling experience.
Nice. I certainly am not good enough at the game to try and do that.

My advice was more for first-time players, since directing them to BBI too early would probably just lead to frustration. Definitely sounds like a really cool experience though, if you're... uh... prepared to die a lot. Hehe.

For you.
Finally got a ReShade to my liking

yes that's a good advice for new players.

when your pawn saves you from an eliminator deathstomp for the first time you just fall in love with this game for eternity.

ikr, fresh people are talking a lot of shit on pawns currently, but watch people post the "my pawn did the dopest thing!" posts roll in over the coming days/weeks.

Does this means that Warrior is not a good first time class? or just that mystic knight is more accessible?

Nah, its not a bad class, it has some crazy high per-attack damage though and the attacks hit multiple enemies. Its a class thats purely DPS though. It throws defense out the window. And like other said, its the only damn class that only uses three skills while everyone else uses six.

hmm, I don't understand the quest system
when and why do they fail?
someone here wrote I should do the lost &found quest later, go to the city and get some gear first
I did that, but the quest was failed by then, I was actually looking forward to the witchwood, but looks like I have to skip that now

after that I did an escort quest (with the old dude from the starting village) that led me to an area with tough enemies, a chimera among them.
well I beat it but the old dude died, I died shortly after because I fell off a cliff ;D

anway, i tried another quest with some bandits, which led me to an ambush with an ogre and female bandits, I did that. after that another ambush with another chimera (different one). killed it, but again, the old dude died. after that it got dark and some death knights spawned everywhere, I killed some of them, tried to make for the bandit camp but had to give up, thise ladies' arrows just hit to hard.
went back to the city in the dark with pretty tough enemy spawns all around.
here I am back again after 3 hours and no quest solved. I don't even know what else to do at that point.

I love warrior man, deliverance/obliteration never, ever, ever gets old.

There are "stages" to the world state, 7 in total IIRC, quests that are bound to a stage, will fail if you move to another.

The escort missions tend to be a little tough early on since you'll probably cross paths with a dragon or a chimera depending on the route you take to the fort. It's still doable. Just need to be mindful of running away if you feel they're too tough at your level. Also, certain quests are timed in that you will fail them if you complete a "story" mission. The DD wiki has some good info on which quests are missable.

Edit: If you have a healer in your party, they can heal the NPC escort if they take damage, which is really helpful.

I have made my way into jail/dungeons 6 times now by accidentally attacking NPCs in the city when using the mouse button to forward the dialogue, when it ends I tend to click again by mistake causing me to attack, lol.

The requirements for this game seem pretty high for what it is.

Is anyone playing with an i5 3570 and/or a 660ti?
I have a similar setup, i5 4430 and R9 270, no problems running it at 1080p/60fps with everything on max. With ENB and the prettier settings enabled it rarely reaches 60fps, though.

I deeply apologize for traumatizing people's pawns.

You know how much xp I get for taking level 20 pawns on Wyrm hunts? The last one I killed gave me 63k.

Great game so far, level 10. I love how exploring actually rewards you with things.

That being said I am a "ranger" but my bow does so little damage. I bought a shortbow which is the best one the shop has. When I level up do I have to a lot points anywhere? or take skills? How else do I increase my damage?

So I'm encountering an issue that's entirely preventing me from playing the game at all - regardless of which input method I use (Dualshock 4 via DS4Windows or KB/M), the camera is perpetually looking upwards. It's also constantly swapping the button prompts over to the generic numbered ones instead of either of the other prompts that would apply to my desired input methods, nor is the mouse showing up anywhere on the screen besides a slight flicker whenever I attempt to move it around in the main menu.

I've been digging around a bit for a solution and haven't found anything, so I'm hoping one of you kind souls has encountered this issue or may know of a potential fix I can try when I get back from work this evening.

You can upgrade your gear. There's a blacksmith in Gran Soren who can do that for you for example (in terms of upgrading damage, defense, etc.)

Enhance your weapons at the dealer in Gran Soren, purchase and activate augments and buffed skills from the inn keeper, and make sure your gear is up to date.

You're still pretty early on, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Okay what is the fucking deal with those damn ogres? once they lose most of their hp they become the final boss all of sudden and one/two shot every one lol.

what's the best strategy against them? is miasma any good?

Lol...miasma is that secret top level spell that nobody uses for some reason.

They frenzy if they see women. They rampage if damaged enough. They do both at the same time if you done fucked up. Evade until it calms down a bit, then go for the face.

yeah they go crazy! you have to dodge them, hit and wait. If you feel they're too much, just wait for better pawns or higher lvl. Or, if you're a mage, just stay away and cast until they die, just try to stay away from them.

Most of the damage will come from your weapons; upgrade them by talking to the blacksmith and gathering materials from enemies to get higher ranks. Eventually you can Dragonforge stuff, but that's later in the game. Your damage won't start out super impressive; give it a bit of time and you'll start seeing more output.

For me? I take a flask of oil, throw it at them, then get a fire augment on my weapons via a mage pawn, then set it on fire repeatedly.

Now yall know what I meant in this quote I posted eariler.

That's exactly what happens, lol. But a good tank can take care of that problem.

But when fighting certain enemies like the elder ogre in BBI, when his health is low, all that tanking, and aggro shit goes right out the window.

The ogres, yea, they are a problem, but its the elder ogres thats the REAL problem.

But, if you got a mystic knight or sorcerer, put his ass to sleep.

I played a little on 360. Have there been convenience improvements made? I remember there being some extremely annoying design choices back then.

elders
, on the other hand, are not as good. A simple reskin with more health.

That's pretty overly reductive.

They are completely changed in ways to directly play off of the expectations players developed from engaging with the normal ogres.

The elemental weaknesses are switched around, and most amusingly for the first encounter,
it is men they go crazy after.
