Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

Is there a way to tell an npc you are escorting to stay in one place? This old man keeps running into the middle of battles and dying like an idiot.

Guide to escort quests.

Do you have a portcrystal near or at the destination? If so, do the escort quest! If not, don't even bother, they're all a tremendous pain otherwise. You only need to do one of them for the achievement, and most of the rewards aren't really worth it.

30 hours later and I only have two sidequests left in the game before I go to slay the dragon.
Gotta find one more journal page for Reynard and rescue the Duchess
, then I'm basically done outside of the endgame, postgame, and Bitterblack Isle stuffs (which make up like half the game or more when you get right down to it)...and at least a couple NG+ runs...

Does anyone else have problems with the pawn voice?
I changed it because it was annoying and put him the same voice as my arisen, but he still uses the annoying voice most of the time. The weird thing is that in one quest he used the voice I wanted, but for the normal things he's saying the whole time uses the annoying one.

When talking about min-maxing, you're talking about equipment? Because afaik you can't put "stats".

Also, what's the difference between the 2 piecies of armor you can put on top?

with on top you mean torso armor? the difference is just that some items are considered clothing, and some other are considered armor. you can equip one cloth item and one armor item for both torso and legs.

Can i actually throw and hit something? Like a pie or dragon's spit? Is there precise throwing mechanics?

you can throw a lot of things, yes. You can also throw oil and water to take advantage from fire and shock damages. There is not a "precise" throw, you just have to throw in the right direction.

Well, to the people asking for me ENB, sorry guys, I was sleeping (GMT +1 here). Don't worry, I won't keep it just for myself, I'm currently unable to access my desktop computer.

That said, it's still an early WIP and it has a lot of flaws, these screens were cherry-picked. AO, DOF, Blacks, Tonemap and the Palette are subject to change.

Regarding the performance, playing on UHD ultra settings (minus ingame DOF an AA), it tank my framerate from 80-100 fps to 30-35 with Ultra AO, 35-40 with a lower AO profile.

i7 4790k+ SLI 980Ti btw, with only one card being used, SLI bits being missing for the moment.

That's the one.
I killed the first ogre, the second one manage to fall off the cliff, avoided one Chimera and ran from the second one into a lake with some Phantasm. With only one caster in my group I said fuck it and ran straight to the red marker.
Yeah, that was an awesome mission, pretty crazy sure, but definitely an awesome way to introduce you to the game.

Can steam refund you the money directly to your cc or just your steam wallet?
I'm just too temped to try if the game runs well on my PC.

I didn't think much of threefold arrow at first, but now fivefold flurry is doing crazy damage to most things. Which is good because I'm not walking anywhere near any enemy until I'm absolutely sure I won't get oneshotted :(

thanks guys, the pawn reputation seems to be bugged, i have no reputation stats on Luce, that's weird.
Yeah, people have said as much. As long as quest/bestiary knowledge still gets passed on I'd be happy.

Anyone's who's played the console version: dragonkin respawn times. Any definitive answer there? getting totally mixed results with resting 7 days, so I'm trying 10 and even that sometimes doesn't respawn certain ones.

no matter what i do the game kinda looks dull. When the sky is blue and the sun is out, it feels like it's overcast. When it's overcast, i feel like i need to get the lamp out. I'm wondering if there's a setting i should mess with, i'd like it to be bright when the sun out :(

I don't know about CC, but if you use PayPal you have the option to refund directly to your PP wallet too (which you can then use to drop the money back onto whichever card you have connected).

There's also min-maxing comes down to vocation choice too.

You get different stats per level depending on your vocation, so there are optimal vocations to start as and then to switch to as soon as you get to level 10.

So I think 1-10 as fighter and then 11+ as assassin is min-max physical damage.

They refund on whatever you use to buy, so CC if you use that, or wallet if you use that.

Thansk guys! I think I'm gonna bite and try it.

Don't think I can wait to an eventual PS4 port, the wind is pushing me strongly!

Just some useful info for new players

There are extra attacks for some weapon types. I "discovered" them when I played it on the PS3, but just realized Ive never seen anyone talking about it.

The first one and most common, is the heavy attack, it has an extra attack if you keep pressed the button with through the attack.

And this is sword based only, if you press the light attack repeatedly, it normally it does a basic attack combo, but if you press the button 1 time, and wait a second after the first hit and keep pressing the button, it does a different combo than the normal one. This doesnt work with daggers, but maybe works for other weapons.

Heavy attacks are slow, but you can combo light and heavy attacks, to make a bigger combo.

Those are the ones I know... if anyone know about others weapons that have timming attacks, please post about it

"Fuck this, I'm done shooting arrows at this cyclops through this doorway."

Hahahaha, that's great

Think I'm gonna have to finish Trails of Cold Steel before I can properly jump in, but I did get to play the game for a couple of hours yesterday (got to Gran Soren and stopped) and man is it fucking great in 60fps. Just beautiful.

Come on, Dragon's Dogma 2!

That first ogre fight on hard mode with 1+ female party members. Dude picked up one of my pawns, and booked it down the hallway. I've never seen that happen, even back in PS3, and i've always had a female main pawn. Also, fighting on hard mode really makes body part damage apparent. Nice different reactions depending on critical foot/knee, arm, or face damage.

After a crazy battle, he swung at one of my pawns, completely missed, and fell to his death.

Hearing 'soaked to the bone' earlier today got a great big belly laugh from me. It's been too long. Also level 200 players haven't had a problem with frend requests for I'll have some easy times with pawns tomorrow.

Also someone at CAPCPOM has a sense of humour with the :masterworks: icon from steam trading cards.

I wish the game would either tell you the level of the enemy or the quest. I went down in the well at the starting village and got destroyed by those lizard guys in there. Seems dumb that the third optional quest in the game is a much higher level than you are.

I think it's part of the fun

I really like this aspect. You never really feel safe while you're adventuring.

Also, remember some enemies have very specific weaknesses...

This game is amazingly fun: I'm playing it in tandem with Pillars of Eternity, and I like how it's so light hearted and light on story: just an amazing adventuring combat ARPG.

Get my Lore/Story fix from PoE, my amazing combat from Dogma: perfect combo.

How is the story in pillars? I'm really enjoying DD but I'm also hankering for something with a decent story.
