Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

It has been a while since I've used GeDoSaTo but this game isn't keeping the 4K resolution. I set the desired resolution and the UI doesn't react to the mouse at all. Going to the map screen shows that the mouse is contrained to a 1920x1200 window in the corner. Saving and quitting then restarting the game causes it to crash and then when I restart it again the game is back to 1920x1200. I've tried this with DSR with the same results.

Been thinking about rerolling my char. I wanted to replay this game as sword and board but it just isn't fun waiting for your mage pawns to cast the right spell to make battles go by smoother. Otherwise you're trying to do what striders and their sub classes can do better. Climbing up and slicing weak spots. It really feels like sword and board has a ton of disadvantages (such as being the only non ranged play style until you get the advances vocations).

It seems like this game favors ranged combat a lot. Now I know why I became a magic Archer a long time ago. Especially when it comes to bosses.

Is there a way to transfer my character creation to a new game????????????

Why not just change vocation?

I thought I remembered there was a disadvantage for doing that?

Hmmmm well my reason for wanting to do this is because my pawn will need to change.... For role playing purposes..........

Hey man, no ones gonna judge you for rp'ing in DD, that's half the adventure

No there is no disadvantage unless you're crazy about min/maxing your stats(those stats barely matter in the long run, equipment and augments are what matter)

And you can change your pawns vocation too....unless you're talking about something else, you were kinda vague there

LiQuid!

I proudly and openly admit to wishing death upon the mothers of people I don't like
I finally got the main hub city today and instantly took a quest where I had to escort some dude somewhere far to the northwest. I accidentally screwed up and it turned into night time pretty soon after we left. Was doing mostly alright until I ran into a cyclops + a bandit pack + a wolf pack all on top of each other. So after about 20 minutes of fighting I beat all that crap but my escort bro had unfortunately passed away (RIP) and I got a fat failure in my quest log now. I didn't even try to save scum it and go back cause I like the idea of living with your failures in these types of games, but I'm curious if anybody knows what, if any, kinds of repercussions that guy dying will have.

I had a guy die on my way to the beach too. Came across a chimera and killed it but towards the end the guy just died. RIP I guess.

Question about escort quests: Can you use Ferrystones to teleport to a place or does that not work for an escort?

Yea... I mean.... My personal pawn will need to "look different".

"Know what I mean"? Like, for roleplaying "purposes". :3

Once again playing this game I'm reminded just how shitty the light armor is. Like outside of unique sets you can get post game or by spending a bunch of gold in the black cat I'm basically wearing the same shit I've been wearing this whole time only I leveled it up.

I guess the upside of not having a warrior pawn is I don't have to buy them all the cool armor they get lol.

There is an item you can buy in the Encampment that lets you totally remake the appearance of yourself and your pawn.

Unless you are just like an hour or two in, likely better off buying it. Costs 5000 RC which isn't too hard to come by, and can only be used once until end game.

Oh right! Forgot about that. I'm still so early tho on this run. Eh.....

Sometimes it's pretty hard to tell which way to go when you don't have the entire map unlocked yet. I hit like 3 dead ends in the Mercedes escort quest. That's probably my one major gripe with this game.

I don't know I thought that was one of the best part of the game, discovering the map. Replaying the game is a lot less fun on these type of quests cause you know exactly where to go. You can also explore the map first and then take the quests, other than the early game story block, most of the world is free to explore right away.

Fuck these
Ogres in the mine. Two at once in a narrow hallway? Not happening.
use those looping hallways when theyre enraged (which is when theyre most dangerous towards the end of the fight) to run back around, attack from behind and revive pawns. Sometimes the best strategy is to run, get one or two attacks in and revive everyone. Also, kill the ogre in the lower section first, then pull the second near the ledge back down to where you fought the first one. The third one on the upper level is around some explosive barrels. Grab them with r2 and throw them with Y/∆, they'll do a good amount of damage if they hit and cause burning

Edit: and its worth noting the reward for that quest isn't really worth it anymore. If you struggle with it too much, just comeback when you get stronger gear and wipe them out 30 seconds

Anybody have an average level for Bitterblack? I'm seeing wildly different claims from people, including some saying it's twice as hard as the final areas of the game, even at something like level 60.

I wasn't planning on minmaxxing my characters levels all that much, and it's ended up being Fighter/Strider to 20, and I'm grabbing Assassin now. I'm planning on sweeping up all the augments required in the postgame once I can farm the courtyard. Main Pawn is a Strider/Ranger, been a range since level 12 and will likely be that the entire time.

Would going down there prior to the final boss fight be decent, around 50? Or is earlier fine as well? Is there anything particularly wrong about using mostly pure builds into Biitterblack?

Haha. Was doing the quest under the pawn base in Gran Sorem and when I came up against the ogre, it managed to charge and fall down the big opening in the middle. Easiest ogre kill I've had. =p

Whats with all the different potions you find early on? Do you actually use them? my inventory seems to fill way too fast.

Longswords are fun.

I'm having a hell of a time with my warrior too. Initially I thought about playing him up to rank 9 only just to unlock the augment and then go back to assassin but it's proving to be so much fun that I don't know what to do. Their Devastate (core ability!) is just...devastating.

I actually did hire her today. I liked that attack that turned enemies to stone. What's the name of that skill?

By the way, I already sent her home. Did you get the recommendation? Just asking because I keep hearing that the pawn reputation system is bugged.

I think I hired her once or twice yesterday, and she's with me again now. Very useful for distracting giant rock lobsters while I stand around shooting arrows uselessly.

thanks guys, the pawn reputation seems to be bugged, i have no reputation stats on Luce, that's weird.
However, that attack is not a skill, simply Almace does frost damage and that damage can freeze enemies.

I recommend doing it last, it's end game content. It has the best equipment and the most difficult enemies/areas. BBI equipment will trivialize the post game enemies

I was lvl 85, I'd recommend 70+

That's what I get for not checking my surroundings.

That corridor of thieves is probably the hardest thing in the entire main game. Totally brutal when the Grimoire or Lost and Found quests send you there.

So build up for a while in the
Everfall
for a while before tackling BBI. That works for me. I actually didn't clear most of the floors the first time. Just Ur and the first few.

As well as the items people mentioned there is a CheatEngine script which allows you to launch the character editor at any time. I've not tried it though.

Finally started playing last night after spending ages in the Character screen trying to get my char to look like my Mass Effect FemShep and i reckon i'm pretty close so i'm happy. I might post a comparison picture later.

For now i'm running around the starting village. Can i take all the quests available or will some be "timed"? I like to start out slow to get used to things. Also, there was a bunch of kit at the Inn is that DA DLC kit? I'm wearing it anyway :)

Guys I just got to the capital after escorting the
Hydra
head,I only spoke to the Inn keeper and the masterworks guy, I didn't talk to any quest givers and didn't touch the notice board.

Am I safe to assume that I wont forfeit any quests if I just go explore the world for a bit? Like leveling and finding loot for a good few hours,I hope their isn't any timed quests that are going to disappear on me.(I already took care of Lost and Found)

Is it ok to change vocation early in the game? I just got to Gran Soren for the first time and I want to try out fighter (started off strider). I have enough points to change vocation.

you can explore the world for all the time you want, no problem. On thing only, for you and newcomers, after the quest under the pawn guild, search for Mason and get the chasing shadows quest. It's an important one. You can do this whenever you want, just be sure to do it.

Feel free.

When you level, your current vocation gives you permanent stats. The stats are in line with what the vocation does. So the only thing you need to bear in mind is that if you level with a physical vocation and eventually go magic then your stats won't be the best. The game doesn't require min maxing (so I hear), but it could be super painful if you spend 30 levels in Warrior and then decide to become a Sorcerer for end game :p

Thank you Lux, I appreciate the quick reply man and the helpful tip so I guess off I go and slaughter monsters, the quarry quest is that available to do without doing the pawn guild quest just yet?

Does that only work for appearance or for voice too? I need to change the voice of my pawn, I really don't like it.
