I had more success rolling the stick (doing circles) than just waggling it left and right. This game seriously needs to re-evaluate it's QTE time. If I wiggle my stick any faster it'll snap off, and I STILL don't get it out of most of the grabs.
It's absolutely ridiculous. I'm going to rig a hotkey script to do this shit, because it is not doable by a human being.
Okay, I fucking hate how this game just fails quests on you left right and centre, and because of how the shitty as save system is. You can't do anything about it. :|
I can't continue lost and found because I did the everfall thing before doing it. (There was a big group of bandits in the way which put me off).
The fucking annoying thing for me is, this is the second time I've had to start over. And frankly, I'm losing the will at this stage.
Well, the Lost and Found one seems pretty important because it opens up a second area, along with a follow up quest. :/
I guess on the plus side I've managed to get doing all the start quests down to a fine art. -.-

Can you just run to Gran Soren, skip the Hydra's Head escort quest and change vocations?
Ignoring BBI right now.
Nope, can't do that. The guards at the gate won't let you enter. Can you just run to Gran Soren, skip the Hydra's Head escort quest and change vocations?

Nope. It does lock you out of that escort quest as far as I know (the NPC will respawn in a few days, check the FAQ in the OT) but yeah don't worry about escort quests, other than the very first one with Madeleine they are all useless.
I saved manually plenty of times, I just must have only died the times I hadn't. Thought it went you back rather than to where you saved. I never pick to retry from checkpoint.
And it's only Dragon's Dogma. Haven't tried it again since restarting. No other games, not even DMC4 on the same engine, have caused anything like it. No viruses, no spyware, all of my hardware is functioning and at normal temperatures. Nothing has changed about my computer other than Dragon's Dogma refusing to exit that one time. One other user had the exact same issue, so it seems unlikely that we both happened to be two people who contracted the exact same computer issue stemming from the exact same circumstances and Dragon's Dogma is somehow not involved.
I seem to recall there being a gate closed on the way that doesn't open until that quest, but maybe I'm remembering wrong.

The road's closed off. and there's no alternate route I could find.
Crap, beaten not once, but twice!
This is one of those games where you also want to mash the buttons.
I've been able to get out of grabs doing that.
I think theorically you could go the long way around and get to it through the mines, but you'd still have the issue of the guards not getting you enterThe road's closed off. and there's no alternate route I could find.

Yeah, I'll be honest, trying to 100% everything on the first playthrough isn't the right way to approach the game, Zafir is doing himself and the game a disservice by playing the way he is.What the hell is this..the game was made for multiple playthroughs in mind, you are going to fail quests on your first playthrough, especially since a bunch of them have different outcomes depending on how you handle them.
And lost and found doesn't open up shit, you can go wherever you like in the game whenever you feel like it.
There's a total of 3 quests that open up an area, 2 of them being main quest related, and the 3rd one closes after that quest anyway.
Just play the game instead of worrying what you "missed", gameplay wise and storywise you should be doing multiple playthroughs anyway.
*sigh*
Is there a way to cure a petrified pawn?

To clarify, I'm talking about the Grand Soren city gate specifically. The guards there won't let you enter until the snake head is delivered.I see how they designed it, I remember opening that gate up.
Give them a Secret Softener and they will use it to cure themselves, unless it's too late (then they'll die "permanently", as in they can't be revived by hitting the button next to them, but you can find them again in the Rift of course), or use a Cockatrice Liquor which removes Petrify from the whole party. Is there a way to cure a petrified pawn?
I downloaded ENB but I have no idea how to set it up. It's just a bunch of files?
Edit: OK, I found the readme. Should I use Injector version or Wrapper?
So how many of you are new to the game? Have only played the PC version? How do you like it?

Sometimes its hard to find proper gear for some of the classes. My mage pawn only has some raggy-ass clothes because I can't find anything better

Okay, so you can get all the way to Gran Soren, just not inside.
just buy it?
I buy all the premium shit for my pawn (and myself of course). Just bought her a kickass new staff... which made me angry because there was no new daggers or bow for me in the store lol wtf
Just fought off that damnfor a good 30 mins at lvl15. I employed some of the best survival skills I'd ever used wondering how long it would take to kill.tentacle monster (sprouts from the ground)before I realised that IMust have cut off 50+ heads at leasthad to run away.
So much time wasted but god damn, it felt lively and fun.

What happens when your main pawn dies "permanently"?
Can anyone explain how fire weapons work? My daggers/sword seem to be in the fire state until they run out, but I'm not sure if I'm doing anything. I AM pretty sure I'm not getting a mage buff because I recall seeing fire as a status for the weapon
Yes, thats accurate. To finish the snake head delivery quicker you can kick the animal that is carrying and that will make it sprint for a few seconds.Okay, so you can get all the way to Gran Soren, just not inside.
No such thing . couldnt find any decent outfits for mage at Gran Soren. For now, anyways. She has a kickass staff though, the issue is only about the outfits specifically.just buy it?

Yeah that's true. I would recommend new players keep the pawn chatter on, at least in the beginning, even if it's annoying. As much as I hate pawn chatter, I really suggest people new to the game leave it on. At that point your pawns would be telling you to run away.
That's definitely a mage buff. Some weapons have a permanent elemental power and usually glow of the appropriate colour, but then the colour wouldn't disappear. Can anyone explain how fire weapons work? I gave it a shot, it wasn't doing much :/ I mean, nothing I couldn't do by just Strider buzzsawing the target. Plus it did virtually nothing against the large, bloaty poison undead.
From the shops in Gran Soren?
I feel those giant fat zombies in BBI are the worst enemies in the game, even at lvl200, with the best weapons gold-forged, they take soooo much damage.
The best way I found was Magick Archer > Immolate > jump on their face > thousand kiss to death. That would still take 2.5 full kisses with the best daggers, the kisses ring, immolation ring, and opportunist augment -- and while my pawn is beatin' on 'em as well.
Well, a Mage or Sorcerer might be able to take them out faster but I don't use them.
