hhmmm, you know what, im not even sure about that. I know throwing water on them makes electricity much stronger and increases chance of stun. Never thought about freezing though. Logically, it makes sense.
These quests from the guide, do you naturally go to these places? I havent been to any of these places and the guide lists them as "Stage 2" quests
Of Merchants and Monsters -Ancient Quarry- Talk with Alon, by the northern quarry entrance.
No Honor Among Thieves -Ruins of Aernst Castle- Talk to Maul (An Uninvited Guest is required for an alternative outcome).
Thick as Thieves -Ruins of Heavenspeak Fort- Talk to Betiah, near the main gate as a woman or a man dressed like a woman.
The quarry is a shortcut you can unlock if you do the quest in question. That being said, nothing brings you directly there. One of the main quests brings you through the area for one of the two thieves quest, and the other one you'll be passing by a lot on the way to other quests.

Holy crap this game needs a horse or easier fast travel. I have 2 of those ferrystones but I mean the game is huge and you run out of stamina after 10 seconds of running.
you don't but think logically if it's an area you haven't been to as part of the main quest yet, probably not a good idea to try and head there.
Also daily reminder that always carry one of your portstones with you, whenever you hit one of the escorting mission locations plop one down there. Plus it's a good idea to have some in key locations (shadow fort, witchwood exit, etc...)

1) Yes. One of the story quests (Wyrmhunt missions) you can pick (and by far the most fun IMO, with the Catacombs one) takes you to the Shadow Fort, which is reaaaaally long to reach on foot from Gran Soren taking the long way around. The Quarry cuts across the mountain and takes you directly into that area.
2) Sort of. Several side-quests are tied to the Witchwood and the ruins of Aernst Castle are near that area.
3) Yes, Heavenspeak Fort is on the way to the Great Wall which is a place you'll go to in the story. You can skip the fort by crossing Soulflayer Canyon though. I would recommend you explore both. But if you want to do Thick as Thieves, do not kill
the Cyclops near there! It's the thief leader's pet, lol.

Yes, you can place them on the ground on the world map. You can also pick them up later so don't worry about permanent placement.

for anyone using daggers, I'd forego buying the regular daggers that the shops sell and just wait for the elemental/magic ones. I have two of the main three so far. I'm not buying
kunai
because I remember them sucking, but maybe they are useful for a specific boss.
part of the reason I'm not giving my triss or geralt the best armor is either because it looks silly or ugly as fuck. Plus I want to keep them looking somewhat appropriate until the armor sucks too much, not an issue right now since I leveled up their current armor to 3 stars.

yep. If I ever do a NG+ in hard mode I'll consider worrying more about armor, but so much of the armor for light weared males is ugly as fuck. At least Madeleine sells good looking stuff for females that Triss can use luckily.

Also question for magick archers. How exactly does toss and...toss and trick? Trick and toss? Not sure of the name (im at work), but you do a uppercut and then...what else? The description makes it sound like you should do a follow up.
Yeah but funny enough the stats all suck compare to even the hunter's/leather jacket I'm using which I find funny. I'll keep the money on hand for each chapter to see if the vendors update some decent stuff, but I do remember he sells at least one decent looking black light armor for post-game.
Plus the elemetal daggers are expensive, gotta keep up the money for those haha.
Ok, so when I first played this game way back on the 360 I played as a fighter.
This time around I planned to go strider and I just got into the deep down quest where you first meet the lizard people, holy crap I do like 0 dmg to them. Even when I focus on attacking their tail/back, literally sit there hitting them like 50 times to see maybe a sliver of health come off.
I am lv 8, is this normal? I remember doing this quest with my fighter when it first came out and it never seemed like a problem back then.

There was an eternal ferrystone in my storage (that is basically a umlimited use ferrystone). I have no idea where it came from. I don't remember this being a thing in the console versions. Maybe it's a pc thing along with all those armors they give you. You guys should check your storage to see if you have it.

yeah eternal ferrystone is a lifesaver, having played this game once where you had to run everywhere y'all don't know just how much of a hassle it was. Now I'm putting the port crystals in key locations.
