For really Japanese/anime-like games, I generally don't buy them if they don't feature dual audio.

You do know that the English voices are the "original" in this game, right? The Japanese voices weren't added until the Dark Arisen version of the game.

I know this (I even pointed this out in my post you quoted), it still sucks because up till now Capcom games were keeping price parity, and shocker, I like not having to pay more money.
It will pop up on your friends' Activity Feed, showing them who's boss.
I didn't even know this game had Japanese VAs to bring with. Guess ignorance is bliss, I lost something I didn't even know existed in the first place.

I can't not buy at day 1 after all the begging I did for this on PC.
the English dub is def good so wanting Japanese is kinda odd to me as well.

I too prefer to pay as little as possible for everything, and there's no denying gaming has become quite a bit more expensive for us Canadians in the last year and a half or so. My point is that it could be worse, and it's likely it will get worse before it gets better.Anyway, I've just put through my pre-order, and can't wait to play it come January 15th.
At least they don't make me understand those lines characters keep on saying during battles.

I don't speak it -- I do understand simple conversations well enough these days to notice discrepancies in localization.
I don't see how it's relevant though. I don't speak or understand any French, and I still prefer to watch French movies in French. I certainly wouldn't buy a French movie without its native audio track.
(In any case, this thread is hardly the place to discuss that, given how the game doesn't particularly have a Japanese cultural identity in the first place)

Correct. There will not be a Steam Holiday discount. Besides, we wouldn't want to penalize customers who just pre-ordered the game.
I hope DD fans would agree that the value of the pre-order bonus content is worth more than a measly 10% early discount.
I'd rather take the 10% discount. But hey, I think 30 for an apparently good port of a huge and extremely well-received RPG is still a pretty good deal.

We've done our best to prolong the USD $1 = CAD $1 for as long as possible, but the currency exchange rate has really hurt us in recent months. Same for BRL and RUB.
