It was $0.99 on PSN, too. Unless they're charging more for the coming weeks(which would be... really bad), they're still $1.

It was definitely $2 on PSN, at least at first. I know because I had $3 in my wallet and chose to get that and the rift crystals or whatever and had nothing left afterwards (plus I saw it was $1.99)

Oh my, I just unlocked the skill that lets you set yourself on fire so enemies burn when you grab them.

I foresee getting a lot of use out of this.

Yeah, one of the things I'm not too chuffed with is how important it is to have a Mage in your party. I'd like it if there were more healing-capable classes to give a bit more versatility to your party composition.

Fighter, Warrior, Strider, Ranger, Mage, Sorcerer.

They can't be Mystic Knight, Magick Archer, or Assassin.

Cool thanks. My fighter pawn sounds like andre the giant. gonna turn him into a warrior.

So I switched to Mystic Knight, don't know if I like. I'm going to rock with it for a while anyway.

The Mystic Knight is awesome. Make sure to get the Perilous Sigil skill, as it makes Cyclops battles a cake walk. Also get the fire and holy enchantment skill, that way you can cast it whenever instead of relying on your pawn mage to cast it.

Wow. I just ran into a follower called "Panda Poo" out in the wild. They're naked, level 29 and have no skills of any kind assigned.

...

lol.

Noted, thanks. I literally just switched, intended on going through with it just to see what skills I could get. What does Perilous Sigil do?

I was so happy when I got that but could barely find any use for it aside from griffin stuff. =\

It creates a sigil that throws regular enemies back/damages them whenever they touch it. Big enemies can't get thrown, so the sigil keeps on damaging them.

Another thing I just found out, the magic/great cannon (creates a ball of energy, that you then hit to fire a magical missile) stacks, so cast it about 3 or 4 times and rain down destruction.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
What's the main quest after you do the Gran Soren one in the pawn guild? I got the wyrm license or whatever, do I do stuff for that guy to progress? He had a list of options to pick and I mainly want to know so I can avoid doing whatever it may be by accident.

Also, while crossing through the narrow ridge area that has a lot of harpies, I saw a cage and got an on the spot quest to help the guy being attacked by a good 20 of them in a spot that usually has nothing. Nice to find stuff like that.

Well, I did From a Different Sky 1-6, and now 7-12 are on the board and.... wow, are all 100 quests going to be like this? They're all the same. Go to quest marker, collect item, quest complete. They all have exactly the same description and the only difference is the location of the item

I have a question about quest markers. Why is it sometimes they only appear randomly after a few minutes in-game after you select the quest.

Like I selected a quest to decipher a letter, when I did I got no quest marker on where to look or talk to.
Just a vague "talk to the townspeople". Eventually a red quest marker appeared to the NPC I needed to talk to.

hmm So I can use some later game help with a quest everyone seems to miss.

I chose to interrupt the king while he was choking the duchess/ (I'm not sure if there is a different outcome) and got a whipping. A while after that quest I ran into the maid of the duchess. She gave me a guard outfit and told me to go to the north manse tower. I checked out my quest log and saw nothing, infiltrated the manse tower and the duchess was nowhere to be found.

WTF happened?!? I am in dire need of a dragon's dogma pro.

I imagine it might have to do with the pawns knowledge perhaps?

1) Is that 80 MSP quest pack worth it?

Man...ran into an armored cyclops on my way out of the bandit stronghold...was insane. Also shots from a dungeon quest.

iOuKenvK1HnFv.jpg

Also that one quest where you have to find a snake skin purse...I found the damn thing, forgot to save and died, and now I have no idea where I found it :/

Is there a way to kill these things? The pawns say they keep growing up, and I've killed a bunch already but yeah.. they keep growing up. Should I just give up and go up again?

There's also another side of the dungeon apparently, but the switch is on the opposite side :S

I only use it against big enemies. As soon as they fall down defenseless for the first time I cast the spell and go kamikaze. It seems to do quite respectable damage, and since the location doesn't seem to matter you can just grab them somewhere safe and hold on. If you can set yourself on fire then cling to the back of a cyclops the fight is over in no time.

But that's not my favorite way of using the skill. It's at its most entertaining when you cast it right before talking to an NPC. Tons of random peeps say something along the lines of "You're the Arisen? I thought you'd look more impressive." When they pull that card on you while you're standing there on fire it's absolutely hilarious.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of that.

bad gameplay lol
Question for anyone who has the guide about the Gold Idol:

So apparently I messed up the quest that gives it to you. I'm debating on whether or not to reload and try it again. I've heard that you can get all the special weapons that giving the gold idol to the shopkeeper allows you to buy in other places. But what exactly does that mean? I mean, I'd much rather go on an epic quest to get an awesome sword or set of armor than just buy it. But if it's through the upgrade system or whatever, I'll just re-do the quest.

Oh man, glad I decided to re-run the catacombs: just found an awesome looking set of mage gear! Love that stuff respawns, I can play this game for ages.

This is the same part I'm on unless there are more areas with the same creatures.

btw, is there any reason to wait before upgrading or changing vocation? I changed to assassin but was seeing other people talking about how they waited for some reason. Lots of little things about the game that I'm still unsure of.

After finishing Mercedes' mission from the encampment, I love the crap out of this game so far.

On an off note, I've read people talking about the witchwood and how it's a high-level quest, but I didn't see it that way. It was nothing but wolves and and spiders for me, and having to carry Quina over a downed tree because screw her I'm tired of waiting. Maybe it was because I let Rook take the lead before I let him go for good; he pretty much knew the way to the quest area. Also I'm sure there's something big in there, but I didn't explore much beyond Rook's path. I should do that and get my ass kicked.

Also... Burst Strike + Tusk Strike + Downward Stab is just flourishally decadent. And I get to pick up bandits and throw them off cliffs if they somehow survive that.

Some merchants sell Ferrystones for 10,000G, or you can find them - there's one laying around the Craftsman Quarter at Gran Soren.

Oh...

Well I can't seem to actually get into the shadow fortress, do I need to wait till night time or something?

Someone decided to give my pawn all 1 star ratings which pretty much decimated her ratings.

Feels bad. =/

Because I feel bad about that, I have a code here for Gamestop's pre-order bonus(PS3 code!) They gave me it instead of a 360 code and had to get that fixed. They never took this one, though, so... First to quote gets it.

It was definitely $2 on PSN, at least at first. I know because I had $3 in my wallet and chose to get that and the rift crystals or whatever and had nothing left afterwards (plus I saw it was $1.99)
I remember hearing that it was $2 for about the first day on PSN. They proceeded to fix it because I checked earlier and it was a-okay, but sheesh...

Let me get something straight... when you make a main pawn, other people can play using your pawn? If they choose your pawn, does it disappear from your game or something until they're "done" with it, or do you just keep playing with it as usual?

They can have your pawn in their party at any time. If you're playing, any amount of people can be using the pawn. In order to update their stats/see what other players gave your pawn when they left, you need to sleep at an inn.

You upload your main Pawn to the server, and its current equipment, stats and skills will get uploaded. A player can then choose to summon your Pawn as it was uploaded and you can still play while another player is currently playing with your uploaded Pawn.

It stays in your game too, you just get bonus rift crystals for them using your pawn. Also they get knowledge of enemies/quests/area's from wherever they played with it too.

I figured as much, just making sure. Thanks. That's pretty cool, definitely reminds me of Demon's Souls (online interaction that is) and that's a great thing.

So I beat the entire game, starting on NG+ now (man you're so overpowered) and COMPLETELY missed out on all the idols stuff.

Well, that's not true. I found two copper idols but they sucked. How can I get the gold ones and who should I give them to?

Also, I found it odd that there are no quests that point you to certain parts of the map.

How many hours did it take you to beat the game?

Just posted a ~2hr long video of my sorcerer around lvl 30, was taken a few days ago. Starts from daytime in witchwood exploring the zone, traveling to gransys and the sewers below, then making way to the catacombs. have some high level spells such as meteor and earthquake.

careful at the end of video coming upon the voices in catacombs if you want to avoid some spoilers, well not really but shows some movie cutscenes with the
evilmage?

I might have been closer when I took this. Not to say its a bigger or smaller ogre thing, they might have various sizes

There better not be bigger ones..

Speaking of Ogres, I just ran into two on my way to a mission and got destroyed.
Note to self: Stay away from that camp.

In this escort quest to shadow fortress, I spotted a white giant holding a flaming club. Needless to say I did not get close lol but it looked badass.

I had found this ancient mine or quarry, and I believe it had 3 ogres in it. I do think I came in the back door. I think I faced the "boss troll" first, instead of leading up to it. Entered it near the besieged fort (I was on my way to do that, but saw this place) Lots of mining, lots of ohshitOgre's.

Ha ha, yeah, I did it backwards. Came out the otherside, near the capital, and there's a merchant with a mission to open up the shortcut. "Oh, it's all clear already? Bless ya Guvna, Bless YEEEEE" boom, XP and money

You entered through the south side? I did the same thing. haha. As soon as I get in, troll, troll, troll. This was what got me stuck on the wrong side of the Waycastle, and I had to go all the way back through the quarry, and around the south end of the continent again. Sucked.

edit: ogres, not trolls.
