Typical hip-hop fan. White girls are one of the biggest buyers of rap music.

This, I tell people this about music all the time and they shake their heads no. Like if you want to "blow up" and become mainstream and have lasting appeal, you need to get this demographic listening to your music ontop of whoever you're targetting.

Not to make it a racial thing because it's just the truth, but white females 18-28 are the ones who are most likely to BUY the CD. Black females are up there too, and as for concerts white female and males are more likely to attend.

I had to do a marketing study on this in college, to me it was common sense, but many people were shocked.

Every hip-hop concert i have been to has been a majority of white/non-blacks. Even at the Lupe signing there was an astounding amount of teenage white girls.

just heard "take care ft rihanna" and "Crew Love Ft Weeknd"

2 tracks i was anxious to finally hear, holy shit, did drake drop the ball or what?!?

both songs are ridiculously boring and sleepy, WTF Aubrey!

Crew Love was great.

Crew Love was great.

maybe it requires more than one listen, but i just got the feeling that i've already heard better from the weeknd, stupid dj spin sound is annoying and off key to the whole vibe though

Just gonna wait for Echoes of Silence

? Does that matter? Also, the term freestyle has been bastardized so much in hip-hop now where its just writing a prewritten over an existing beat.
What worries me is that he can't even do that effectively lol. Not hating but this album got downgraded from day 1 to day maybe for me. Of all the songs I've heard so far Headlines is the only one that I enjoy.

if he knew how to freestlye, was gonna look up some past freestyles
overanalyzing much ?

What was I over analyzing, exactly? I asked a question to why you were placing such importance on freestyles. lmao.

Curious but not excited. I like Drake. I'd really like to see him go all in on the quiet/slow, desperation r&b aesthetic, and probably how much I like it is going to be tied to how much he really goes for that. Lots of guest verses is going to turn me off I suspect.

EDIT: Nicki's always good though; only time I don't like Nicki is when she's on her own album.

only heard crew love and lord knows and man this shit is gonna be awesome

already miles better than TML but that was already evident from the tracks he released throughout the year

Afraid to listen to this on my way to school in the morning now.
Its boring but the second track redeems it IMO. take care (the track) is a horrible pop song. Who the hell was hyping that shit?

Drake gonna catch a body finding the leaker

He really didn't seem to care when Thank Me Later leaked:

I gave away free music for years so we’re good over here…just allow it to be the soundtrack to your summer and ENJOY! JUNE 15th!

Im not a big drake fan or anything, but his attitude towards leaks is commendable.

Agreed, but his not a struggle artist, it wont effect his success even a fraction

Probably why his so cool about it

uh what? Drake is getting paid, dude has a good deal. but some of his money is directly tied to sales..

ahh, his still going to be floating in it, so i don't really care.

would of been interesting to see how it would of sold, if it was kept tightly sealed like WTT, will still embarrassingly outsell it anyway im guessing.

Lord Knows is trending in the states, rightly so, my favorite track i've heard from this album

I really would like to preview some more tracks but leak finding skills suck ahahaha

He's saying a leak won't hurt his sales, he is right. So respects to Drake and the rest of the progressive artists out there that know unless you're hiding the only copy of your album in the castle you recorded it in, your album will inevitably leak early without your influence, and at the end of the day is not as detrimental to your sales as many would exaggerate.

Honestly, from everything ive seen from Drake, he seems to genuinely enjoy music and is probably glad hes in the business. Leaks are always going to happen unless you go strictly digital first week. A good attitude makes for more fans than a shitty one.

Yep. I said it before, as much as people like to hate on dude, he's probably the hungriest rapper out right now. As in, the most enthusiastic artist trying to perfect his craft and actively get better at making music. He makes all the right phone calls.

I always enjoy a Rick Ross verse, he has some of the best feature verses

my favorite is still "Devil in a dress" on Kanye's MBDTF, but this is a new one to enjoy for sure
