If you are paying by credit card, please print out the authorization form at

http://www.dreamhost.com/fax/

and fax it to us at 323.583.9505. The amount to fill in on the form is
$9.24.
This is for your protection as well as ours.

You will receive another e-mail with further instructions when your account
is activated!

That's weird I paid with my credit card right over their website yesterday and didn't have to sign/fax any authorization form...

No wait that's the wrong thing you're suppose to prepay for the full year jobber I think you clicked on the wrong link.

About the subdomains, it says that I can have up to 15 subdomains.

Yes. What this means is that you can your domain (say www.alejob.com) but then can also make dude.alejob.com, wtf.alejob.com, or whatever - you get 15 of those tops. I think you might also be able to use dreamhost as the domain too (alejob.dreamhost.com?)

Each domain or subdomain shows up on your FTP account as a directory. So, blah blah you login and see these:

/home/alejob/alejob.com/
/home/alejob/jokes.alejob.com/
/home/alejob/gahiggidy.alejob.com/
(etc)

equates to:
http://www.alejob.com
http://jokes.alejob.com
http://gahiggidy.alejob.com

All of the domains/subdomains feed off of your bandwidth/storage total (but you can set limits for each as I recall) You can even sign up for more domains (say, gaffers.com) and that gets added to the directory list too.

My question is would I have to manage each subdomain independantly? Or can I manage all of them and access each others stuff from each subdomain.

Well the bandwidth and storage is completely up to you to use. As I said, you can login with FTP and manage files on all of your domains at once, and unless you set up an .htaccess file, there are no image-stealing processes, so it's also perfectly fine to make a website that takes all of its image contents from another domain.

shit! I paid twice with paypal before paying with a credit card. I thought there was an error with paypal, but both payments went through :( Is it easy to get a refund?

LeechFTP!!

Yes, that's what I used to use before I got a new computer. It crashes from time to time, but for some reason I liked it a lot. Could be the job queue interface.

Geezus. I haven't even done anything yet with my domain or even posted about it anywhere and I get this in my e-mail box today (the one I registered the domain with):

Hi,

I was doing some searches and I saw you just registered
xxxxxxxxx.com.

If you're interested in making money with your new domain,
check this out:

http://1million2006.com

access code: wsrocks

This is backed by an Inc500 listed company and globally
it's growing very quickly.

After you check out the "private screening" above (it's
very brief), reply and I'll show you how to use
xxxxxxxxxx.com with this to make a serious residual income.

I hope to talk to you soon,

Troy Rudd

Same here... fucking hell. There's gotta be a way to hide my Whois info...

If you find a way PLEASE let me know, maybe somebody with some initiative could email dreamhost.com and ask them?
