DriveClub Being Streamed Early by Twitch User

Some people need to recalibrate their senses after playing this...

And here we go lol. Only 2 pages.

Some people need to recalibrate their senses after playing this...

Ugh, stop. We have threads for this.

My biggest concern for this game is the tracks. From what I've seen so far it just seems to be a lot of straight lines, shallow banks and hairpins here and there. Road tracks can be fun but when that's the only thing included? I just hope there's a lot of variety in them.

not really, no. There was a time early this year I was concerned after the delay, but it has come around.

It has what I want for a racing game. I've read extensively on the mechanics and it seems it feels legit great to play, the visuals are the best ever in a racing game and Evolution has a great track record with racing games so I don't really doubt they'll deliver on the content.

on top of that, free extra tracks and shit? so far so good.
I wasn't really referring to anything you may have said in the past. I was just using your post as a bit of juxtaposition with some of the other comments popping up in this thread. :)

This sure doesn't look like some of those early screenshots, and it's not just because of the 720p streaming.

The snow track does look interesting... and the landscapes look quite nice. Just not seeing anything truly remarkable about it?

Stream isn't even 720p.

Can't really watch the stream on my throttled LTE connection. But I really need to seem solid footage of this game. What's the scoring like? What are the community/"club" features?

Have I just missed all the preview info about this game or have they been that dark about details as they've been working on it for the past 12 months?

The game is gorgeous guys. The stream wasn't great quality and didn't show just how good looking the game is.

I wish every racing dev would go back and study and then iterate on the menus from the original DiRT.

Stream isn't even 720p.

Right, but even in 1080p the game still looks like pretty racing game... there's nothing that really jumps out.

Jeez, I'm not even criticizing the thing, I'm just asking what makes this game look like it will be special and all anyone can point out is the streaming resolution?

So what it isn't open world? I want a old school game with closed tracks and sprints. Haven't played a game that since Hot Pursuit 2 and Grid.

crappy stream via ps4 on a poor connection probably isn't the best way to do this is its a controlled leak...so i vote for just some dude that somehow got an early copy.

Well that was disappointing. The game looks a lot worse than I thought including the graphics. IMO Forza Horizon 2 demo looks a lot better since we seen both today, top down from the sounds to the UI.

Sound from people watching, better sound from cars nearby, more robust noise from the UI, you don't need to jump to 'exploding volcanos' just because I might want to see someone pulling a car out of a trailer in the background or something.

That's fair man, different expectations I guess. Though I was only half kidding....an exploding volcano track would actually be really cool........

How can anyone say it looks boring, it's a racing game you don't know how good it is till you feel it.
Eh, people are entitled to their feelings.

It all completely depends on what you're looking for in a racing game. DriveClub will scratch the itch for many people, Forza Horizon 2 will scratch the itch for others, Project Cars for others still, and even The Crew may be more to some people's flavour. There's also gonna plenty of overlap with these games, so it doesn't have to be one or the other, but for some, it might be.

I do expect to see plenty of FH2 vs DriveClub arguments in the coming months, though. They both look to be extremely competent games, both coming out in the same release window and both exclusive to rival systems. I hope a bit of sensibility can be had with all this, cuz while there will be a fair amount of people trying to say their dad can beat up your dad, some people truly will just have an honest preference, even if its gonna be very hard to determine which is which at times, so best to play it safe and not immediately assume the worst.

I played it this weekend at a convention and I can't wait now, the snow environment has to be the best graphics I've seen on any video game to date.
The chat is filled with typical Sony fanboys, which isn't unexpected. I don't know...this doesn't look bad, but it feels..lifeless. There's something off about it
What does the chat has to do with anything, tell us how you really feel

Best menu music of all time?

I hope this game is successful so I see a Motorstorm Pacific Rift sequel. The one we all deserve.

There's not a single post in here saying they wish this was open world.

I don't know who you people are arguing with.

I'll agree with the bland/sterile comments. But that's just because I prefer more arcadey type craziness going on. I'm sure this is great for those who like the track experience, but it's not for me

Well that was disappointing. The game looks a lot worse than I thought including the graphics. IMO Forza Horizon 2 demo looks a lot better since we seen both today, top down from the sounds to the UI.

I too like to judge the graphics of a game by watching a stream that has pixels the size of my fist.

It looks really bad.

The textures lack detail.

The car models look rough.

Even the environments look messy.

I hope they can up the resolution.

It just looks so blocky right now.

This has 7/10 written all over it, it's so soulless. Those visuals, such as they are, don't compensate for the low frame rate.

I think the 'overhyped new IP' poll thread was posted prematurely.
