DriveClub Being Streamed Early by Twitch User

This was my thoughts too. Stepped out the ForzaH2 demo and fired up twitch to catch the guy streaming DC. Its a nice looking racing game, but the difference between the two is jarring. I'll leave it at that.

One is a track racer, the other is not. Why do you keep talking about FH2 in a thread entirely about DriveClub? None of us in here care.

Track towards the end of this video just looks insane. That series of tunnels actually looks pretty scary fast (love the purple lights inside too), and he's only racing through in an Audio A4 lol.

Inspired by this tunnel, the lights are rest areas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lærdal_Tunnel

I have said this the least number of times. I am not sure why you are getting defensive here. I only mentioned it here after this thread went to shit comparing the two.
You've said it 3 times now(in more than one thread).

I'm not getting defensive.

The thread hasn't gone to shit.

And if it had, you certainly wouldn't be helping the situation(which would be my main point here).

Am i crazy or does it change direction halfway through the flip?

:|

The car ends up facing backwards after the flip. Player then switches to external camera which, because the driver is now facing the wrong way, displays the opposite direction of the internal camera.

Point taken. I will stop mentioning it even if the thread is full of comments comparing them.

Point is, he was responding to the other trollish posts comparing the games. Eg such as the one by Timlot. Funny how that one doesn't bother you, but Gamer4Life's does, even though he's actually played both games.

Why the fuck can I visit a FH2 thread all day, and not see a single mention of DC...yet in every single DC thread, I see comparisons and mentions of FH2 within the first few pages? Shit is annoying.

Yes, I'm aware that bringing FH2 up only adds to the problem, and I apologise.

I too like to judge the graphics of a game by watching a stream that has pixels the size of my fist.

I understand the stream quality was low but it was still a good indication. Not just the graphics but everything. The music was lacking and absolutely terrible, the ui looked worse, the ai might've been on rails - they weren't fierce, the sounds lacked punch, the guy streaming refused to show the cockpit view after numerous people asked, etc., imo Forza Horizon 2 just looks more ambitious.

I broke down that gif where the car flips and there's definitely something strange going on, he is nowhere near the right side of the road to hit something, the only thing that he could've hit is the telephone post, but that would make the car spin the other way that it did.

This is a Driveclub thread. Why do we need to know what you think of FH2 in a Driveclub thread?

This is seriously messing with my head lol

Demo released today so people are naturally comparing. DC will have its own share of hype when people get their hands on the experience, I would hope so.

looks really good graphics wise.

I already made my mind up on getting Forza(it's just too much fun), so PS+ for me unless the gameplay is out of this world.

It's simple: they aren't even trying to offer realistic car collisions. It's probably an automatic behavior to keep players from manually having to respawn or cause issue with other players on the track. Just looking at the instant penalties and sudden countdown when going near the edges of any part of the course just paints a picture of keeping the race moving forward and de-emphasizing that part of the real sport and keeping car manufacturer even happier for the lack of carnage and serious damage. Game doesn't even seem to offer sim damage or reduced performance, but does hit you hard with point deductions.

Yes I would suggest this is the case - getting you going again quickly rather than doing a barrel roll for 20 seconds before naturally coming to a rest. Arcade game let us not forget.

I disagree. Driveclub looks a lot more beautiful as we already saw in multiple screenshots and videos, as it should since the PS4 is more powerful. It's not even close. I'm more interested in Driveclub too, I don't care about open world racers.

Now you've got a Forza Horizon thread if you want to talk about that game, here it's a Driveclub thread.

That's today ... what's the excuse for EVERY OTHER Driveclub thread?

Those most looking forward to FH2 said repeatedly we should not compare these two driving games (they're completely different, they said!). But apparently now, having watched a piss poor quality web stream of Driveclub, the same people suddenly fancy their chances lol.

Praise the lord! more games need this. (kinda suprised it isn't a standard feature) D3 would be PERFECT on vita if I could remap R2/L2 away from the backtouch to the front touchscreen.

"Hit them soldier, hit them while they're down!"

Yeah, the bumper car collisions gave that impression too.

I realize what he was doing. I just don't think its very helpful. If anybody is trying to troll, they will go away much quicker if you just ignore them. Responding and giving them attention is what they want.

Wow. I was frustrated with the delay on this, but if that's what it took to make this game look as sweet as it does, it was well worth it.

How the hell can a 540p stream be good indication of anything ?
Plus the music was off during the race and DC is one of the best sounding racing games.

I feel like the internet conversation around PS4 games has become so toxic. I've noticed this on Reddit as well. The nitpicking is bordering on absurd at this point -- I mean, people are comparing an open-world racer to a track racer.
