Are you fucking serious?Driveclub was the first curent gen AAA racer for PS4 and it was hyped beyond belief.Is it so hard for you to imagine there are people out there who bought a PS+ subscription to try this game?
Even in this very thread there are people saying they did exactly that.
did people really buy PS+ because of DC but before DC was released? That does not make any sense.
People have every right to complain about DC no matter what, if they purchased it but I doubt many people bought PS+ just because of DC, and before it was released and if they did, they should ask for a refund of course.

Why is it so hard for you to believe that people bought a PS+ before DC was released?Even in the previous page alone there is a poster who said that he/she did exactly that.
Hell even me if i didn't had a yearly subscription already i may have bought one just before the change in games to get both the september list as well as Octomber's.But the main drive behind my decision would have been Driveclub. When a company like Sony promises they will give something for "free" people usually have no reason to doubt them.
Well at least until now.

There will undoubtedly be some mods to be done to original code after all the changes over the last week. Include QA testing etc, it's surprising they'd even be considering release yet.
Let then take their time and get it right. Saves a helluva double backlash if they release a dud freebie.
I'm one of those people. I just got my PS4 less than a month ago. Wasn't planning on getting PS+ until I found out about the DriveClub version in October as one of the free games. I wish I would have just used that PS+ subscription money and just bought DriveClub. I don't really play online multiplayer games anyway.
I'm not going to buy it now, even for the reduced PS+ price, just as a matter of principle.

Evolution have ruined any goodwill they were hoping to get from this deal and i imagine Sony are pissed . They were embarrassed when it was delayed on ps4 launch, the amount of money they wasted on advertising e.t.c would have been insane.
Now a year later the supposed reason for the delay (menus, multiplayer linking e.t.c) , is one of the big reasons why its crippled (ddos your own servers)

That's a wonderfully unique point of view that I'm sure has most certainly not been covered at all over the last 2100 posts in this thread.
To be fair, I don't think that'd make them work faster...

The people who are being really sympathetic and patient for Drive club and criticising people for being angry about having to wait for it to work don't see the bigger picture.
This is a big expensive studio, After Motorstorm: Apocalypse bombing (not their fault) and now this being a disaster I'd be worried about my future if I worked for Evolution.
With how games sales peak in the first week and then tail off every day this isn't working and there isn't a plus version to entice people to upgrade is costing them a lot of money in lost sales (and people getting fed up and trading it in). I was thinking about buying it at launch if I liked the plus version but now I spent that money on Alien:Isolation. and the longer it's delayed the more likely people are to choose Project Cars or The Crew instead.

Sony gave me back the $50 I spent on this wreck of a game. How this game was launched in the current state that its in is beyond me.
How you go about this? Ready to throw in towel as well on this.

I asked for the refund here https://support.us.playstation.com/app/contact_options on Live Chat. It took close to 6 days though for the money to go back in my wallet.

The original announcement that Drive Club would be free with a PS+ subscription two E3s ago is why I subscribed in the first place. I didn't realise at the time that I'd over-estimated exactly what 'PS+ Edition' might actually mean, nor that the game would end up getting delayed forever, but that was my original reason.

Have to agree. Shambolic isn't the word. It's absolutely unacceptable, it's not the first and won't be the last game to have trouble at launch but that's my issue - this isn't the launch period any more. It's been over a fucking week. They should have either had a longer delay or prepared better. This isn't Halo or COD here, I'm sure it's popular but come on, if those games can get the job done, why can't this. I know BF4 has problems but I was hoping that would stand alone in the hall of fuck ups. Unfortunately, now there are two.

The PCARS thread has the details, but the announcement is expected today.
If they had spent less time polishing the graphics and more time adding game play features, working on their server infrastructure maybe this wouldn't have happened. What is even more mind boggling is that they delayed the game and still screwed up. Sony can't be happy with evo right now, all that extra development cash seems to have gone up in smoke.
Studio Liverpool was dismantled despite putting out high quality racers on time on multiple platforms. This game looks to have sold middlingly and relied too heavily on the social aspect that still doesn't work properly. I hate autolog and its ilk, totally ruins games SSX, NFS and now this.

Sold middlingly? These were the only charts I was able to find re: Driveclub sales in it's first week.
Runner up to four titles that all have multiple platform releases? Ahead of Skylanders and NBA 2K15, both huge franchises and across multiple platforms?
Can't speak for the global sales, but I'd like to know who is reporting that it sold "middlingly".

No numbers, but to debut third behind one of the biggest console franchises around (sports or not) when it only went on sale mid-week is hardly "middling". Don't think it takes into account digital sales either. Can't see any of those games in the top 5 selling less than 50k in their respective weeks (debut or otherwise) in the UK.

That was exactly what I did.
Guess I should have known better than to trust Sony to deliver on their promises.
I'll probably still download the PS+ version, but at this rate, by the time it releases I'll be neck-deep in other games and won't have the time available to make upgrading worth it.

It's crazy to see that shit's still not working properly for the people who bought this game, especially since it's a first party title.
