Driveclub PS Plus Edition Delayed by Server Issues

So after pre-ordering the game online, I contacted Sony for a refund saying that the game is defective and the online portion of the game is completely broken. They told me to wait three business days, afterward they did. I didn't get an e-mail or anything, I just saw the amount in my wallet. So if anyone is still having problems you should easily get a refund.

Bought a PS+ subscription 3 months ago that ends with October with the hopes that I will get to play DC. When my sub expires I will probably not renew it. DC delay is one aspect but indie games and multiplayer do not seem to be enough to justify the expense.

The game will get locked the moment your subscription ends.

Odd that you didn't get an email. I received an email indicating that they were breaking their no refund policy this time and crediting 50 dollars to my PSN account. For whatever reason the game still has been working the past 3 days though.

Ok, now that it really has been a day shy of two weeks, there being no date for the PS+ Edition is beyond merely annoying into weird territory.

I've decided to stop playing until I hear the servers are up 100% of the time. I hate the disconnection messages and also not earning XP for my club.

I posted about this yesterday, and I think that even once the servers are truly functional, they might give it a bit of time (1 week?) before they even open up the PS+ version. At least I hope those of us who bought the game will get to play online for abit before the servers possibly die out again cause a PS+ version is gonna be quite a bit of people compared to those who already got the game.

is there an eta on this now? I saw the "most players should be online now" article on ign.

I probably think it would be sensible now just to leave it until the November PS+ games.

Having most people online now is great but releasing it, say this week, would only cause huge problems again for the actual buyers. Leaving it 2/3 more weeks to gain the stability needed before the onslaught of thousands more wreck havoc again. Plus it may give the title that second wind if people like it and then go out and buy it.

Surely Evo have sorted the servers out at last. If the PS+ edition isn't available this week, I don't see it ever coming.

Considering the full paid game was shipped feature-bare and doesn't even work properly yet, I think we're well into DEBACLECLUB now.

Except it wasn't shipped feature-bare and everything worked a week after release except the ability to create challenges and the occasional multiplayer race disconnect.

You clearly don't have the game... or, if you do, you haven't played it since the first day of release.

The PS+ version is a complete debacle, sure. However, those of us that bought the full game have been enjoying it basically feature-complete for two weeks now.

Wait, did the retail/full release get its social features up and running or are both still with affected by the server issues?

Holy shit if it's the latter.

You can't say 'everything worked except' and then go on to list a bunch of things that don't. Either everything works, or it doesn't. Online hasn't worked consistently for me at all. I've not managed to have a single multiplayer race. Some things never seem to load.

To call it basically feature complete is totally untrue.

This is a bonus game and its not part of PS+ free games in every month. So you get this game when its fixed whether you like it or not.

It was advertised as part of PS+ for months, part of their E3 presentation, was a big 'plus' in purchasing PS+ for PS4 owners. I'd hardly call it a bonus. Or are you one of those "these games you pay for are free" people? If so, carry on, you're right. We didn't get our Free Super Bonus Game.

I bought this game on launch day and have yet to play a multiplayer game. This is sad and are ally poor showing. I want my money back.

Just contact Sony support. They'll give you a full refund. At least they did for me. They refunded my money but let me keep the game for some reason.

By "bunch" you mean "one." I said challenges don't work. That's it. Multiplayer races disconnecting infrequently is called using multiplayer. All multiplayer games have that issue.

Sorry it seems to not be working for some. I've had little to no issues since 4 days after release.

In this situation all I have to go off of is my experience and one of my friends that bought the game.

Or the descriptions of the devs themselves. Whose optimistic descriptions from just a few days ago are still at odds with yours. When the good news was that more than half ("the majority") of those attempting to connect at a given time could access the partial online mode, I think you may have lucked out with your experience. This is *not* like the normal experiences most have with online games.

Just dropping in to add my "no longer interested" comment.

They missed a great window (for being a year late) to provide a nice little demo.
