Are you guys deliberately missing the point or what.
And your point would be?

My first post on the subject says
Basically pulling shit out the horses ass?
And your point would be?
I think you could phrase that a bit nicer.Basically pulling shit out the horses ass?
A whole lot of fail has popped up in the last 2 or 3 pages.
I think his point is :
.The game will release at 1080p
.Weather isn't running at 1080p yet, but rather at something like 540p
.Weather will be implemented at 1080p, when it's done
.That's why we don't have a 1080p footage
I think it's silly, but i think i understand his point.
Those latter three all seem slightly more at different ends of a spectrum, though. I think the difference is a little more blurry with DC and GT. Sure, you get points for drifting in DC but it's still not arcadey in the way Motorstorm was, nor does it have Wipeout's weapons and mechanics. I can see that it's different to GT, but I think they've lost a bit of variety this gen (so far).

Who gives a shit that weather is not 1080p? I mean the game looks insane...
We are worthy of this and much better. Thinking about end of gen titles from Sony first party studios with a grin on my face.

Crazy how games have advanced.
A lot of people apparently.Who gives a shit that weather is not 1080p?
It does!I mean the game looks insane...
I'm sorry about that, but thankfully nobody seems to believe me.If it weren't for pixel-counters no one would notice.. but now everyone is hung-up about numbers..
Arguably always until the hardware is fast enough to do real simulation of photons.Games are not real life, and getting something to look awesome, sometimes means hacks.
I think it will be.I wouldn't even care if weather is not 1080p in the final game..
Didn't know the game had sixaxis support.

One thing I didnt expect, though, was a motion control scheme that I ended up preferring over the more traditional approach. A quick trip to the options menu lets you enable motion controls, driven by DualShock 4′s built-in accelerometer and gyroscope, and again, I say this as a classically trained, button-based gamer it ends up correlating perfectly with the games in-car cockpit view. Tilting DualShock 4 left or right and watching your hands on the steering wheel move instantaneously feels perfectly natural, and makes long, soft turns much more graceful (rather than trying to find just the right angle to hold the analog stick at). Of course, traditional controls still feel great, but I think I might end up defaulting to motion controls for this one!
Exactly. It's not a big issue and I didn't want to make anything out of it but it's blown up because I have to respond to these overdefensive types.

The game is running at 1080p but the weather isn't?
Dat dynamic weather.
I don't understand.
Huh, for steering? I don't play many racers, have any in the past used sixaxis, and if so, was it passable?
Will be interesting to see how well it works, Rushy seems confident (although, no one has being really touting it in their media releases).

The Motorstorm games have an option for motion controls. It's terrible.

Ahh, never tried playing them with it on. I don't hold up high hopes to be honest, but maybe the DS4s improved sixaxis could help it. Not that I think it would be preferable to a wheel, or even just the analogue controls though.
Its native 1080p
...did you not see the tweet right on this page?
If you check the previous page it has been quoted several times, the weather IS RUNNING at NATIVE 1080p.

I know, I am wondering what they (Graphics Horse) are talking about. (I should've made it more clear in the I don't understand part I guess).

This needs to be their advertisement.
All you hear is the engine roar and see 10 seconds of this and then in a calm, British voice you hear: "this is not real life. This is not CGI. This is actual gameplay. This is Driveclub"
No music. Just a narrator, the roar of the engine, and that exact gif panning out to reveal the HUD.
"Create your own Club. [cut to gameplay on new track] Compete with friends against Rival Clubs [cut to online gameplay] Own the road, and earn your club fame [cut to social interface/clubs all around the world]. Driveclub. Exclusively on PS4"
I don't know shit about shit, but maybe it's the resolution it was captured at?I'm talking about the video looking like native 540p
Much has been made of the jaggy powerlines without any controversy.

I've seen jaggies like that on native 1080p as well, powerlines in games almost always look jagged, probably hardest to fix with AA.
Video doesn't look native 540p lol. It's just shitty Facebook compression (and 720p which is the FB limit I think) which is par for the course. Same with every other video they've released on there which then gets a better quality version on their site, or if we're lucky via Gamersyde.

Look at it more like the difference between Forza and PGR and it becomes easier to understand. Let's be honest here, until we know more about the Club dynamics and the challenges, comparing this to Gran Turismo begins and ends at graphics and cars. They could play much differently from each other because they seemed designed with different goals in mind.
I think it's clever marketing tbh. They get two bouts of coverage. One where everyone flips out over lower quality media, and shares it via the social networks. And then another more for the hardcore where we get high quality footage and they get more coverage all over again. Usually with an extra video or two as well. Can somebody tweet rushy to get us some high bitrate videos? For the love of god, why show off your game in such a fucking mediocre way smh
