DRIVECLUB The Drenched Forests of Canada

You're not getting away with that so easily, explain.
And I didn't do my dissertation on a game. I actually wrote a car simulator, based on NFS2's "physics". It can be hardly called physics anyway. It was just a crude imitation of how a vehicle should behave.

My bad for not understanding what exactly you did in the past. Apologies.

But when you behave like you know what you are talking about, you can't use terms like "oversampled". The isn't analog signal processing. It's called supersampled.

PS4 has nothing to do with whether AF is implemented or not. Plenty of PS4 games have AF. There are several 3rd party games missing it for reasons unknown. But when you make such blanket statements, you come across as really uninformed.

It's okay to not be impressed and I would have respected your opinion if you didn't throw criticism in such a cavalier manner without much thought or analysis.

I mean you're very informed about a lot of things with your dissertation on AF on PS4 so it's good you learn about this several months before launch and can thus alter your behavior.

No I'm not informed, I've just read that in a thread somewhere, apparently it was bad information. But instead of mob-trolling me, or making jokes, someone should've simply pointed out why it's not true.

Everything else about this game is purely guesswork on my behalf. Nobody has the facts yet. They showed a few small videos, but since Watch Dogs, that doesn't mean shit.

...

You're still at it?, what are you getting out of it?

Apparently you going berserk, because someone dares to show anything but pure love without reservations.

I believe in the developers, but I don't believe in the corporate greed behind them. I fear the game will be bad, but I want it to be good.

If I believe someone is acting in good faith then I help them out. You did not make that impression and still do not.

You make the impression as someone that is uninformed and wants to stir shit up and then the part withe your dissertation is just hilarious to me. You invited mockery.

I'm sorry, english is not my mother tongue, I didn't realize there was a critical difference between oversampling and supersampling. But now it makes sense.

Thank you that's a correct answer, that's what I was looking for, thank you for providing me with actual information. And I'm not trying to be sarcastic. I truly value this info.

And no I'm not too well informed abut the PS4 yet, I was planning to get one when Driveclub is released.

Can someone explain to me why I should be excited for this game?

graphics are good for sure but gameplay wise it just looks dull, the track layouts don't seem all that interesting / challenging either - obviously I'm only going on the short amount of content we've seen so far but I'm just not getting the appeal over something like Horizon.

I also played it at Eurogamer last year which was a long time ago I know but the driving wasn't great then (felt arcadey but not in a particularly fun way), has anyone played it recently (or at least this year) and got some updates on their thoughts?

I'm not hating on it at all just want some input from those excited as to what's exciting them besides the graphics.

Is this the right thread for this?

I can't answer you that because I'm not. I'm just here because these thread are hilarious to read.

But to address your excitement: Don't be.
If you have PS+ at the point of release try it out yourself. If you like it, great, if you don't like it you didn't waste any money to find out.

And that means you shouldn't be able to customize controls before you start playing?

Not a sim is != shouldn't be played with a wheel.

You people are drawing a very bad picture of this community.

"MY OPINION IS FACT , THE END"

Yeah, cos that's what I said...

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with using "oversampling" in the context of graphical rendering. Though it's difficult to ever say, in a strict sense, that a scene is actually being "oversampled" when you're working with infinitely-high-frequency details like hard edges (i.e. basically always).

(Obviously, in the context of the discussion, the correct term would have been "supersampling.")

Did you also write a dissertation on martyrdom?
Holy shit.

I've only really just started to take some interest in this title recently. I watched some videos of it and I'm assuming I'm not one of the first to instantly think of Project Gotham right? And it's Kudos system?

A lot of people say that the handling has improved quite a bit since the 2013 floor demos, so maybe give it another chance before giving up on it. It's perfectly okay to find that it doesn't fit your preferences though, not sure why you feel you 'have' to be excited about the game. Just play what appeals to you.

DRIVECLUB [OT] - If we delayed another year, reality would have to catch up with us!

Every time I see this game, it just looks better and better.

DRIVECLUB |OT| The edge goes to Forza 5

DRIVECLUB |OT| Reality comes with a HUD

DRIVECLUB |OT| The dragons driving is coming, it's gonna be great, I SWEAR

DRIVECLUB |OT| WARNING: Contains Excessive Graphics Violence

DRIVECLUB |OT| Not the Golf game you were expecting.

Oh my, what happened to this thread?

So I guess weather is going to be a later update right? I'm wondering if I should wait for the update before I buy it. I'm worried that I'll be playing it imagining how better it would look with the patch. Am I alone in this thinking?

Oh my, what happened to this thread?

1. This looks great and near real at times.
2. No it doesn't.

Over exageration on my part coming here.
3. Pole Position,Night Driver and the First Need for Speed, look as good.
Etc.._.etc....

Might have missed a few things but, something like that.

I'm planning on going the same way actually. Very hyped for DriveClub, but also for Horizon and don't think I want to bounce between the two games at the same time. So Horizon first, until DriveClub's weather hits, then I can jump big time into DriveClub.

Do we have any idea how long after release they'll add the patch? I'm dying to play it.
